In view of the request of wireless accurate position of workers and equipments, the characteristics of wireless signal transmission and position have been analyzed. Based on the Two Way Arrival and Symmetric Double Sides Two Way Arrival, a multi-Access points Centroid wireless Localization algorithm of area was designed in this paper. And The simulation shows that this algorithm performance is stable, reduces the spread and a range of error by NLOS and can improve the degree of wireless Localization accuracy in underground.

In this paper, a new triangle centroid localization algorithm for wireless sensor networks based on received signal strength indicator (RSSI) was demonstrated in great detail, and was simulated using MATLAB , and was compared with the original algorithm. Finally, wireless localization system based on CC2430/31 was set up in IAR development environment. Through hardware testing and comparison, The impact on the localization accuracy is illustrated about the signal transmission loss, beacon node density and outside interference. The superiority of this new algorithm is verified.

Aimed at the people localization in the underground mine, the bounding-inbox localization algorithm of wireless sensor networks based on RSSI is presented in this paper, which combines the merits of range-based and range-free localization methods. And, signal strength information between fixed anchor nodes and unknown ones is taken as the weights of bounding-inbox algorithm to calculate. The result of simulating experiment in underground mine environment proves that this algorithm is of less computing cost and can improve the localization accuracy.

The localization accuracy of the existing methods for indoor Wi-Fi access points ranging-based localization depends on the accuracy of the received signal strength measured. Because the existing ranging-based methods are interfered by various indoor environmental factors, it is difficult to accurately measure the received signal strength, which leads to the problem of low localization accuracy of the indoor Wi-Fi access points. An indoor Wi-Fi access points localization algorithm based on improved path loss model parameter calculation method and recursive partition is proposed in this article. The algorithm recursively partitions the region where the target Wi-Fi access points are located according to the idea of quadtree partition, and partitions it into same sub-grids, which is sequentially performed until the sub-grids are smaller than the set threshold. The detection device is used at the detection location of the grids to measure the received signal strength, which is from the detection points to the target access point, the grid center point is used as the location of the candidate target access point, the parameters in the path loss model are calculated by using the signal strength differences between the detection points, and then the distances between the detection points and the target access point are calculated by using the signal strength values from the detection points to the target access point. Finally, the location of the target access point is estimated by executing a localization algorithm, and the location of the grid center point closest to the target access point is taken as the location of the target access point. The experimental results show that under the premise that the target access point can be found, the proposed algorithm reduces the use of the device and improves the localization accuracy compared with the typical localization method.

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) consist of a large number of low-cost miniature sensors, which can be applied to battlefield surveillance, environmental monitoring, target tracking, and other applications related to the positions of sensors. The location information of sensors is of great importance for wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we propose a new localization algorithm for the wireless sensor network based on time difference of arrival (TDOA), which is a typical algorithm in the wireless localization field. In order to improve the localization accuracy of a sensor, a new strategy is proposed for a localized sensor being upgraded to an anchor node, which is used to localize the position of the next sensor. Performance analysis and simulation results show that the revised TODA localization algorithm has the higher localization accuracy when compared with the original TDOA location method.

The majority of services that deliver personalized content in smart buildings require accurate localization of their clients. This article presents an analysis of the localization accuracy using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons. The aim is to present an approach to create accurate Indoor Positioning Systems (IPS) using algorithms that can be implemented in real time on platforms with low computing power. Parameters on which the localization accuracy mostly depends are analyzed: localization algorithm, beacons’ density, deployment strategy, and noise in the BLE channels. An adaptive algorithm for pre-processing the signals from the beacons is proposed, which aims to reduce noise in beacon’s data and to capture visitor’s dynamics. The accuracy of five range-based localization algorithms in different use case scenarios is analyzed. Three of these algorithms are specially designed to be less sensitive to noise in radio channels and require little computing power. Experiments conducted in a simulated and real environment show that using proposed algorithms the localization accuracy less than 1 m can be obtained.

Noncircular signals are widely used in the area of radar, sonar, and wireless communication array systems, which can offer more accurate estimates and detect more sources. In this paper, the noncircular signals are employed to improve source localization accuracy and identifiability. Firstly, an extended real-valued covariance matrix is constructed to transform complex-valued computation into real-valued computation. Based on the property of noncircular signals and symmetric uniform linear array (SULA) which consist of dual-polarization sensors, the array steering vectors can be separated into the source position parameters and the nuisance parameter. Therefore, the rank reduction (RARE) estimators are adopted to estimate the source localization parameters in sequence. By utilizing polarization information of sources and real-valued computation, the maximum number of resolvable sources, estimation accuracy, and resolution can be improved. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the existing methods in both resolution and estimation accuracy.

This paper establishes a 3-D localization model and based on this model, it proposes a collaborative localization framework. In this framework, node that observes the object sends its attitude information and the relative position of the object's projection in its camera to the cluster head. The cluster head adopts an algorithm proposed in this paper to select some nodes to participate localization. The localization algorithm is based on least square method. Because the localization framework is based on a 3-D model, the size of the object or other prerequisites is not necessary. At the end of this paper, a simulation is taken on the numbers of nodes selected to locate and the localization accuracy. The result implies that selecting 3~4 nodes is proper. The theoretical analysis and the simulation result also imply that a const computation time cost is paid in this framework with a high localization accuracy (in our simulation environment, a 0.01 meter error).

Purpose To solve the above problems and ensure the stability of the ad hoc network node topology in the process of wireless signal transmission, this paper aims to design a robust adaptive sliding film fault-tolerant controller under the nonlinear distortion of signal transmission in an amorphous flat air-to-ground wireless ad hoc network system. Design/methodology/approach This paper designs a robust adaptive sliding film fault-tolerant controller under the nonlinear distortion of signal transmission in an amorphous flat air-to-ground wireless ad hoc network system. Findings The simulation results show that the amorphous flat wireless self-organizing network system has good nonlinear distortion fault-tolerant correction ability under the feedback control of the designed controller, and the system has the asymptotically stable convergence ability; the test results show: the node topology of the self-organizing network structural stability is significantly improved, which provides a foundation for the subsequent realization of long-distance transmission of ad hoc network nodes. Research limitations/implications Because of the chosen research approach, the research results may lack generalizability. Therefore, researchers are encouraged to test the proposed propositions further. Originality/value The controller can extract the fault information caused by nonlinear distortion in the wireless signal transmission process, and at the same time, its feedback matrix K can gradually converge the generated wireless signal error to zero, to realize the stable transmission of the wireless signal.
