Modeling and simulation of a grid-connected photovoltaic system (GCPS) is addressed in this paper to analyze its control performance and dynamics under changing irradiation. A circuit model of solar array considering irradiation is used to simulate its inherent characteristics and realized by a controlled current source. The controls of the GCPS and its electrical circuits are represented by user-defined and built-in components. The dynamic of the system in normal and fault conditions are dominated by its power controller and a method to set PI controller’s parameters is proposed in this paper. The model has been implemented on DIgSILENT. Simulation results are presented and compared with experiment waves to validate that proposed simulation model is effective for evaluation of the GCPS.

Intermittent scan tracking (IST) is a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method of photovoltaic system. The scanning approach of this method generally is order scanning. But this scanning mode has the weaknesses of the huge storage space and excessive amount of calculation. To eliminate these defects, this paper proposes a new scanning mode, i.e. nested scanning. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, a simulation system was modeled based on Matlab/Simulink. In the experiment two scanning modes above were compared and the simulation results proved that, on the premise that the accuracy of results is guaranteed, nested scanning mode can effectively decrease the quantity of required scanning voltages and currents, reduce the amount of calculation and improve the scanning efficiency.

Aiming at the complexity of mechanical devices and the polytrope of operating conditions for marine propulsion plant, the modeling and simulation of propeller and dull system are investigated based on MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation model of propeller and dull system is constructed in which the Chebyshev fit expression across four quadrants is given for the propeller. So it becomes practical to express static and dynamic properties of propeller and dull system. A luxury cruises fitted on two engines and two fixed pitch propellers is considered to perform simulation tests. The actual navigation conditions of marine propulsion plant, including starting, parking and reversing etc, are taken into account. The simulation results analysis illustrates the correctness and validity of modeling and simulation for propeller and dull system. Thus provides a new method for the optimization and design of marine propulsion plant.

A Split inductor is used with Exiting Inverter to interconnect inverter with grid connected system which avoids the usage of transformer. While using split inductor NPC-MLI shoot-through problems are producing in the bridge legs of an NPCTLI, its operation stability is ruined. Hysteresis Current Control (HCC) offers an excellent current control performance to NPCTLI. It acts based on the error current value i) and hysteresis band value (h). The proposed topology guarantees for no common-mode voltage, shoot-through possibility and capacitor balancing problem. Finally, the simulation results of a proposed SI-NPCTLI system verified using MATLAB SIMULINK.

This paper introduces the structure and working principle of a jet dispenser based on giant magnetostrictive actuator(GMA), builds the mathematics and simulation model of the jet dispenser, researches its dynamic characteristics and analyses the simulation results. The simulation results show that the needle displacement, needle velocity and accumulated fluid volume are consistent with actual situation. It demonstrates that the model can correctly reflect the dispenser's dynamic characteristics.

Planar multi-linkage mechanism is widely used in the manufacturing industry. In this paper, a kind of planar R-RRR-RRP mechanism is analyzed. The kinematics simulation model is established based on assur rod group method and then implemented for this kind of mechanism based on MATLAB/Simulink. Through simulation, the motion rules for the key part of mechanism (the end-effector) are obtained. The simulation results show that this method is effective and efficient when the simulation is implemented for a certain machine system. Meanwhile, it provides a foundation for design and manufacturing of the mechanism in the future.

The V-shaped electro-thermal MEMS actuator model, with the human error factor taken into account, is presented in this paper through the cascading ANSYS simulation model and the Fuzzy mathematics calculation model. The Fuzzy mathematics calculation model introduces the human error factor into the MEMS actuator model by using the BP neural network, which effectively reduces the error between ANSYS simulation results and experimental results to less than 1%. Meanwhile, the V-shaped electro-thermal MEMS actuator model, with the human error factor included, will become more accurate as the database of the V-shaped electro-thermal actuator model grows.

Craps is a simple dice game that is popular in casinos around the world. While the rules for Craps, and its mathematical analysis, are reasonably straightforward, this paper instead focuses on the best ways to cheat at Craps, by using loaded (biased) dice. We use both analytical modeling and simulation modeling to study this intriguing dice game. Our modeling results show that biasing a die away from the value 1 or towards the value 5 lead to the best (and least detectable) cheating strategies, and that modest bias on two loaded dice can increase the winning probability above 50%. Our Monte Carlo simulation results provide validation for our analytical model, and also facilitate the quantitative evaluation of other scenarios, such as heterogeneous or correlated dice.

To improve the regulating characteristics of impact energy, simplify structure of hydraulic hammer, a new pulse modulation hydraulic hammer is presented in the paper which can help regulate its impact frequency easily. The motion equations of the hydraulic hammer are established, its simulation model is obtained and the dynamic simulation is carried out on AMESim. The dynamics of high-speed ON/OFF valve is taken into account in the simulation model. The tendency of simulation results conforms to experimental results; it shows that the pulse modulation hydraulic hammer is feasible, and the hydraulic hammer model is reasonable. The time delay in high working frequency is also analyzed.

The heating in the running-in process of wet friction clutch is the key to research in this kind of products. In this paper, based on the shifting clutch composed of metal and paper-based friction liner, using MATLAB/SIMULINK software, the simulation model of friction clutch and the analysis model of conducting heat were established. Thus, the corresponding relationships were obtained, which were the total friction power and clutch temperature variation with the time during the running-in process. According to the simulation results, the main influencing factors on temperature control of wet friction clutch were analyzed during running-in process, and the results could provide reference for reasonable temperature rise control for the clutch.
