Hub location has been a fertile area for interdisciplinary researchers. There has been used to plan the number of hubs, position, grades, scale and so on. Many scholars have studied hub location problem for more than 30-year history which has indepth researched on the theoretical concepts, mathematical models and applications in hub location. For the development of hub location, a review of classification of HLPs is provided, and then mathematical models, resolution algorithm, the advantages and disadvantages of each classification could be described in detail. At the end, the future research trends will be presented.

Computer science and electronics have a very big incidence in several research areas; optics and photonics are not the exception. The utilization of computers, electronic systems, and devices has allowed the authors to develop several projects to control processes. A description of the computer tool called Laser Micro-Lithography (LML) to characterize materials is realized. The Reasoning Based on Cases (RBC) and its implementation in the software using Java are presented. In order to guarantee the lithography precision, a control system based on a microcontroller was developed and coupled to the mechanical system. An alternative of LML, considering the use of a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), instead of a Personal Computer (PC) is described. In this case, C language is used for programming. RBC optimizes the materials characterization, recovering information of materials previously characterized. The communication between the PDA and the displacement table is achieved by means of a system based on a micro-controller DSPIC. The developed computers tool permits obtaining lithography with channels narrower than an optical fiber with minimum equipment. The development of irradiance meters based on electronic automation is shown; this section includes the basic theoretical concepts, the experimental device design and the experimental results. Future research trends are presented, and as a consequence of the developed work, perspectives of micro drilling and cutting are also analyzed.

Trust management is the technology to collect information to make a trust decision, evaluate the criteria related to trust, monitor and reevaluate existing trust relationships, and ensure the dynamically changed trust relationships and automate the above processes. This chapter introduces trust management technologies. The authors classify them and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each. Furthermore, they discuss the current issues, problems, and future research trends in the area of trust management.

Reduced part count multilevel inverters (RPC-MLIs), an emerging technology for grid interfacing applications of renewable energy sources. RPC-MLIs overcome the limitations of conventional two-level and classical multilevel inverters (NPC, FC and CHB) by the use of reduced part counts for generation of same number of levels in the output. Focus of this paper is on to present review of the RPC-MLIs for researchers and engineers and classification of all the topologies. RPC-MLIs are compared considering its circuit complexity and performance. The comparison exposes advantages and disadvantages of topologies, as well as a wide spectrum for future research. This paper also draws the most potential topology in the field of grid integrated applications. Promising topology is simulated here under the same load and input source condition using real time simulator.

Introduction. An overview of research in the field of classification as a method of machine learning is given. Articles containing mathematical models and algorithms for classification were selected. The use of classification in intelligent management decision support systems in various subject areas is also relevant. Goal and objectives. The purpose of the study is to analyze papers on the classification as a machine learning method. To achieve the objective, it is necessary to solve the following tasks: 1) to identify the most used classification methods in machine learning; 2) to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of each of the selected methods; 3) to analyze the possibility of using classification methods in intelligent systems to support management decisions to solve issues of forecasting, prevention and elimination of emergencies. Methods. To obtain the results, general scientific and special methods of scientific knowledge were used - analysis, synthesis, generalization, as well as the classification method. Results and discussion thereof. According to the results of the analysis, studies with a mathematical formulation and the availability of software developments were identified. The issues of classification in the implementation of machine learning in the development of intelligent decision support systems are considered. Conclusion. The analysis revealed that enough algorithms were used to perform the classification while sorting the acquired knowledge within the subject area. The implementation of an accurate classification is one of the fundamental problems in the development of management decision support systems, including for fire and emergency prevention and response. Timely and effective decision by officials of operational shifts for the disaster management is also relevant. Key words: decision support, analysis, classification, machine learning, algorithm, mathematical models.

Drug side effects have become an important indicator for evaluating the safety of drugs. There are two main factors in the frequent occurrence of drug safety problems; on the one hand, the clinical understanding of drug side effects is insufficient, leading to frequent adverse drug reactions, while on the other hand, due to the long-term period and complexity of clinical trials, side effects of approved drugs on the market cannot be reported in a timely manner. Therefore, many researchers have focused on developing methods to identify drug side effects. In this review, we summarize the methods of identifying drug side effects and common databases in this field. We classified methods of identifying side effects into four categories: biological experimental, machine learning, text mining and network methods. We point out the key points of each kind of method. In addition, we also explain the advantages and disadvantages of each method. Finally, we propose future research directions.
