For the need of multi-channel simultaneous sampling in the modeling and identification of power system, a portable data acquisition system is introduced. It can sample multi-channel data simultaneously, and also have a mass data storage. The system is composed of data acquisition card and PC processing software. The C8051F410 MCU is the core of the data acquisition unit card. It not only provides multi-channel synchronous sampling, large storage capacity, easy to carry and low cost, but also can run offline, and bidirectional interaction with PC software. The data processing software is programmed by Visual Basic6.0. Its main function is sending sample orders and the sample data processing. It can store and process the sample data, also it can set the sampling parameters of the card. Through actual verification, the system is easy to use and meets the precision of requirement.

This article aims to properly assess the hygrothermal properties of walls located in historic buildings, this study discloses the development of a remote sensing technology compatible with an in-situ measurement implemented in Palazzo Tassoni (Italy). As required by the international recommendations adapted to cultural heritage (CH), this monitoring system balances CH conservation, performance aspects and economic costs using an integrated multidisciplinary approach. Electronics for measurement of environmental parameters is composed of sensor measurements, data acquisition system and data storage and communication system. Data acquisition system, equipped with standard modbus-rtu interface, is designed to run standalone and it is based on two cloned single board PCs to reduce the possibility of data loss. In order to reduce the costs, RaspberryPI single board PCs were chosen. These run a C/C++ software based on standard modbus library and designed to implement multi-client server TCP/IP to allow communication with other devices. Storage and communication systems are based on an industrial PC; it communicates with sensor measurements’ system through a modbus-TCPIP bridge. PC runs a Labview software to provide data storage on a local database and graphical user interface to properly see all acquired data. Herein, some sensing options and approaches of measurement are described, unveiling different possible ways of enhancing the retrofit of CH with adapted technology.

In order to study the starting speed athletes sprint speed ,the paper design a distributed monitoring system. System sample data of speed by micro-controller and peripheral circuits , data of test point speed transmit to the PC through the RS 485 bus, programmed using LabVIEW software on the PC side realize data storage of detection each point speed, processing, display and remote monitoring. The micro-controller and virtual instrument technology combined with the application, to overcome the conventional athletes speed detection shortcomings of the prevailing and difficult to remote observations. Experimental results show that the system is low cost, high accuracy, stable and reliable operation.

A big data system plays a significant role in various fields. This technology has also been applied to environment fields because it can discover hidden patterns between environmental factors. As the massive data set was constructed for several decades, big data analysis has widely been using for extracting useful information by analyzing different types of big data sets. In this study, we developed a big data system frame to assess the ecosystem service provided from surface soil. Among big data platforms, we used the Amazon Web Service (AWS) due to their cost-efficiency and hardware flexibility. There are five stages of the big data system (i.e. data acquisition– data storage – data processing – data analysis – visualization). In the data acquisition step, the soil sensor and Internet of Things (IoT) system were used, and we collected existing soil properties data provided by national institutes such as Rural Development Administration (RDA), Ministry of Environment (MOE), and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT). AWS S3 platform, which is an object storage service and provides easy-to-use management features to users, was accepted as the data storage platform of the big data system. Amazon EMR, Amazon SageMaker, and Amazon QuickSight were used for the step of data processing, data analysis, and visualization of the big data system respectively. We tested that the developed system could predict soil bulk density and able to replace a typical environmental model by using models based on machine learning and deep learning. The results of the two tests showed positive results that the developed models could predict soil properties and simulate natural phenomena as much as the typical environmental model could. However, since the system is at an early development stage, it needs repetitive tests in the future considering various soil properties. If this system becomes fully functional, the system will be helpful to improve soil environments.

A signal processing hardware platform has been developed for the Low Frequency Aperture Array component of the Square Kilometre Array (SKA). The processing board, called an Analog Digital Unit (ADU), is able to acquire and digitize broadband (up to 500[Formula: see text]MHz bandwidth) radio-frequency streams from 16 dual polarized antennas, channel the data streams and then combine them flexibly as part of a larger beamforming system. It is envisaged that there will be more than 8000 of these signal processing platforms in the first phase of the SKA, so particular attention has been devoted to ensure the design is low-cost and low-power. This paper describes the main features of the data acquisition unit of such a platform and presents preliminary results characterizing its performance.

Abstract This paper presents a low-cost and smart measurement system to acquire and analyze mechanical motion parameters. The measurement system integrates several measuring nodes that include one or more triaxial accelerometers, a temperature sensor, a data acquisition unit and a wireless communication unit. Particular attention was dedicated to measurement system accuracy and compensation of measurement errors caused by power supply voltage variations, by temperature variations and by accelerometers’ misalignments. Mathematical relationships for error compensation were derived and software routines for measurement system configuration, data acquisition, data processing, and self-testing purposes were developed. The paper includes several simulation and experimental results obtained from an assembled prototype based on a crank-piston mechanism

In this work, a computerized electro-chemical analyzer based on LabVIEW is proposed. This analyzer is made up of two main parts, the hardware part and software part. The former part consists of computer, data acquisition card, and signal conditioning module, which is clearly described in this paper. The software part includes data acquisition, data processing, data storage and data displaying that are programmed in LabVIEW. The measuring methods of cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry have been realized with this analyzer.
