The beet sugar wastewater is a substance produced in the sugar process, which contains deep color and high concentration of nitrogen phosphorus and potassium. Treatments of beet sugar wastewater have been one of the most important challenges for environmental protection workers. Currently, treatments which are widely used in beet sugar wastewater processing are concentration drying, anaerobic method, aerobic method and incineration. The fundamental structure, working principle as well as hydraulic model of internal circulation (IC) reactor were introduced. The application and the possibility of using IC reactor to treat beet sugar wastewater were also concluded.

The influence of mineral nutrition on nectar secretion both per se and in relation to certain aspects of growth and development was studied in snapdragon and red clover plants growing in sand culture. Snapdragon was grown at two levels each of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, red clover at three levels each of phosphorus and potassium. The volume of nectar and weight of nectar sugar secreted per inflorescence were affected by the supply of each of the elements studied. Secretion in snapdragon was favoured by the lower levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Secretion in red clover was best at the low and intermediate levels of phosphorus and at the intermediate level of potassium. Although a high concentration of phosphorus or potassium in the mineral supply reduced secretion in both species, the threshold concentration for this inhibitory effect was higher in red clover than in snapdragon. High concentrations of potassium consistently reduced the sugar concentration of the nectar in both species. Flower number as well as quantity of secretion per inflorescence varied with nutritional treatment. For maximal production of nectar by the plant, the following conditions of fertility would appear desirable: A level of nitrogen low enough to avoid excessive vegetative growth, a level of phosphorus sufficient to promote good flowering, and a level of potassium which is neither low enough to limit growth severely nor high enough to reduce flower production.

The present work based on soil nutrients analysis of covered and uncovered fields nursed with organic fertilizer and cultivated with various crops. Collected the soil from three deep bottoms (5 cm, 15 cm, and 30 cm), mixed, and prepared five different samples. Calculated the pH value, electrical conductivity, and the percentage of nitrogen, phosphorus, Potassium, the humus of the collected soil samples and documented all the parameters. The results showed that the soil has moderately high pH values (7.9 in the greenhouse and 7.5 in the uncovered area), the E.C of greenhouse (4.1dS/m) is slightly lower than the uncovered area (4.8dS/m), nitrogen (6.3% than in the uncovered field 4.7%), relatively high concentration of phosphorus (5.16 mg/100g in the greenhouse uncovered field 4.67 mg/g), relatively high potassium values (39.04mg/100g in the greenhouse and 36.30 mg/g in the uncovered area) and high values of humus (12.7 % in the greenhouse and 9.1 % in the uncovered area). Concluded that the soil is saturated in the greenhouse with phosphorus and Potassium, no need to further fertilizations in the forthcoming years, and thegreenhouse is better for crop cultivation.

AbstractThe experimental plots used in the study were located in the middle forest zone (elevation: 900-950 m a.s.l.) on two nappes of the flysch Carpathians in southern Poland. The aim of this study was to assess the effects of serpentinite in combination with nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers on selected chemical properties of the soil and activity of dehydrogenase and urease in the studied soils. All fertilizer treatments significantly enriched the tested soils in magnesium. The use of serpentinite as a fertilizer reduced the molar ratio of exchangeable calcium to magnesium, which facilitated the uptake of magnesium by tree roots due to competition between calcium and magnesium. After one year of fertilization on the Wisła experimental plot, the pH of the Ofh horizon increased, while the pH of the mineral horizons significantly decreased. Enrichment of serpentinite with nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers stimulated the dehydrogenase activity in the studied organic horizon. The lack of a negative effect of the serpentinite fertilizer on enzyme activity in the spruce stand soil showed that the concentrations of the heavy metals added to the soil were not high enough to be toxic and indicated the feasibility of using this fertilizer in forestry.

AbstractThe response of native plants to allelopathic interference of invasive species may differ from species to species. In this study, the phytotoxic effects of Ageratina adenophora were tested on two native shrubs (Osbeckia stellata and Elsholtzia blanda) of Nepal. Both the shrubs were grown in pots under treatments of A. adenophora fresh leaves and root leachates, and litter. Then, the seedling length and biomass were compared among the treatments. The results show that A. adenophora litter has stimulatory effects but the leachates from fresh leaves and root are phytotoxic to the growth and development of native shrubs. Infrared Spectroscopy (IR) analysis confirmed the presence of O–H (Hydroxyl), N–H (Amines), C≡C (Alkynes), and C–H stretching (Aromatic) or C–O–C stretching (Ethers) in the leachates representing harmful allelochemicals. The invaded soil by A. adenophora had low pH and a high amount of organic matter, total nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium than the uninvaded soil. The results indicate that the native O. stellata and E. blanda are harmed by A. adenophora in nature by leaching of allelochemicals and probably by reducing the soil pH. Overall, this study has provided valuable insights regarding the effects of A. adenophora invasion on native shrubs and revealing the potential mechanism of its invasiveness.

In order to improve the diagnosis rates of transformer fault, a research on application of RBF neural network is carried out. The structure and working principle of radial basis function (RBF) neural network are analyzed and a three layer RBF network is also designed for transformer fault diagnosis. It is proved by MATLAB experiment that RBF neural network is a strong classifier which is used to diagnose transformer fault effectively.
