AbstractCurrently we are saying that we are at the dawn of the fourth revolution, which is marked by using cyberphysical systems and the Internet of Things. This is marked as Industry 4.0 (I4.0). With Industry 4.0 is also closely linked concept Logistics 4.0. The highly dynamic and uncertain logistic markets and huge logistic networks require new methods, products and services. The concept of the Internet of Things and Services (IoT&S), Big Data/ Data Mining (DM), cloud computing, 3D printing, Blockchain and cyber physical system (CPS) etc. seem to be the probable technical solution for that. However, associated risks hamper its implementation and lack a comprehensive overview. In response, the paper proposes a framework of risks in the context of Logistics 4.0. They are here economic risks, that are associated e.g. with high or false investments. From a social perspective, risks the job losses, are considered too. Additionally, risks can be associated with technical risks, e.g. technical integration, information technology (IT)-related risks such as data security, and legal and political risks, such as for instance unsolved legal clarity in terms of data possession. It is therefore necessary to know the potential risks in the implementation process.

The Internet of Things (IoT) being a promising innovation of things to come and is required to associate billions of gadgets. Web of things (IoT) gadgets have been generally utilized, and Electronic correspondence is expanded quickly. The expanded number of correspondence is required to create piles of information and the security of information can be a danger. Information gathered by the IoT gadgets and the information which IoT gadget send might be the portal for an assailant to break client security. To guarantee secure correspondence between IoT centers and central point(server), a cryptographic plan for lightweight gadgets is proposed. In this plan, we make utilize pseudo stream cipher with key generation for rearranging key synchronization and improving security.. The common verification, secret key for meeting synchronization and refreshing secret key for session are finished by trading scrambled messages. Likewise, the key length and update cycle for mystery key for meeting are adaptable as indicated by application. Keys are created from mystery key for meeting for improving the security. We contrasted the plan's security and execution and some lightweight plans. As indicated by the investigation, the proposed plan can give greater security includes low overhead of correspondence which is correct for IoT Node with restricted resource and power. Encryption and decoding is finished utilizing trigonometric ideas and by utilizing the idea of stream figure. Trigonometric ideas are lightweight and improve the security up by an extraordinary degree by diminishing the odds of cryptanalysis. When contrasted with different calculations like Hill figure, RC4, RSA and Present(Lightweight square figure) and so forth, the proposed calculation gives better execution.

Since the advent of the web, the number of users who started using the internet for everyday purpose has increased tremendously. Most of the common purposes are to access their data whenever they want and wherever they want. So many companies have started providing these services to normal users. These companies store huge volume of data in the data centers. So protecting the integrity of the data is the main responsibility of these companies. Blockchain is one of the trending solutions that gives storage immutability to the users. This chapter starts with the working of blockchain and smart contracts and advantages and disadvantages of blockchain and smart contracts and then goes on to explain how blockchain can be integrated into the internet of things (IOT). This chapter ends with an architecture based on the proof-of-concept for access management, which is blockchain-based fully distributed architecture.

The cornovirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has had a severe impact on our daily lives. As a result, there has been an increasing demand for technological solutions to overcome such challenges. The Internet of Things (IoT) has recently emerged to improve many aspects of human’s day-to-day activities and routines. IoT makes it easier to follow the safety guidelines and precautions provided by the World Health Organization (WHO). Prior reports have shown that the world nowadays may need more IoT facilities than ever before. However, little is known about the reaction of the IoT community towards defeating the COVID-19 pandemic, technologies being used, solutions being provided, and how our societies perceive the IoT means available to them. In this paper, we conduct an empirical study to investigate the IoT response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, we study the characteristics of the IoT solutions hosted on a large online IoT community (i.e., Hackster.io) throughout the year of 2020. The study: (a) explores the proportion, types, and nations of IoT solutions/engineers that contributed to defeating COVID-19, (b) characterizes the complexity of COVID-19 IoT solutions, and (c) identifies how IoT solutions are perceived by the surrounding community. Our results indicate that IoT engineers have been actively working towards providing solutions to help their societies, especially in the most affected nations. Our findings (i) provide insights into the aspects IoT practitioners need to pay more attention to when developing IoT solutions for COVID-19 and to (ii) outlines the common IoT solutions and technologies available to humans to deal with the current challenges.

In order to make the gateway of the Internet of things access to the public network effectively, using a Software-Defined Network (SDN) concept, a sensor network was studied. When performing hierarchical design, the gateway of the Internet of things was layered. It was divided into the policy layer and the forwarding layer. The policy layer distributed the policy, to receive instructions from the upper server. At the same time, it managed the nodes and matches the forwarding rules. The forwarding layer is only responsible for forwarding data packets. This control and data flow separation structure could effectively improve the system transmission efficiency. At the same time, the software structure design and hardware design of the sensor gateway of the Internet of things were given. The design and function of the gateway was analyzed and studied. A comprehensive solution of the gateway system was proposed. The results showed that this method could further improve the performance of the sensor network gateway. Therefore, the design of the Internet of things sensing information gateway based on the concept of SDN has a high practical value.

The existing stand-alone multimedia machines and online multimedia machines in the market have certain deficiencies, so they cannot meet the actual needs. Based on this, this research combines the actual needs to design and implement a multi-media system based on the Internet of Things and cloud service platform. Moreover, through in-depth research on the MQTT protocol, this study proposes a message encryption verification scheme for the MQTT protocol, which can solve the problem of low message security in the Internet of Things communication to a certain extent. In addition, through research on the fusion technology of the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, this research designs scheme to provide a LightGBM intelligent prediction module interface, MQTT message middleware, device management system, intelligent prediction and push interface for the cloud platform. Finally, this research completes the design and implementation of the cloud platform and tests the function and performance of the built multimedia system database. The research results show that the multimedia database constructed in this paper has good performance.
