In order to solve the problems of environmental contamination, large resource consuming and inflammability of asphalt mixture, this research chooses warm-mix agent and fire retardant to double modify the asphalt. After obtain the method to produce the anti-flaming and warm-mix asphalt through orthogonal experiment, its road property and anti-flaming property are valued. According to the experiment result, under the condition of cooling down 30°C of the mix temperature, the modified anti-flaming and warm-mix asphalt can increase the high temperature property of the asphalt mixture, but decrease the low temperature property and water stability characteristic of it. This asphalt has excellent anti-flaming characteristic, so it can decrease the property loss after being burnt.

In order to solve problems such as environmental contamination, large resource consuming, and the inflammability of present asphalt mixture, a warm-mix agent was chosen and fire retardant was added to asphalt to modify its characteristics. The anti-flaming and warm-mix asphalt has been produced in the orthogonal experiment, and its road property and anti-flaming property lived up to expectation. The experiment shows that under the condition of a lower temperature (15-20°C lower than the the mix temperature), the rutting resistance of the anti-flaming and warm-mix SBS modified asphalt , but its low temperature property and water sensitivity decreased. This asphalt has excellent anti-flaming characteristic, and thus it can decrease the property loss in case of fire.

Because of the heating limitation of old pavement and the restriction of climate, the quality of hot in-place recycled pavement was different to control. The warm m,ix asphalt technology was introduced to improve the heterogeneity and compactness of the hot in-place recycled pavement and decrease its construction temperature. The compaction characteristics of warm in-place recycled asphalt mixture were analyzed and its molding temperature was determined through the Marshall test. The pavement performance of warm in-place recycled asphalt mixture was analyzed whose results indicated that the introduction of warm mix asphalt technology was able to improve the compactness, the high temperature stability and water stability of hot in-place recycled asphalt mixture and reduce the influence of environment over its construction quality. A warm in-place recycled engineering of Shian expressway was introduced to verify the feasibility of warm in-place recycling technology which demonstrated that the warm in-place recycling technology was able to improve the heterogeneity and compaction quality of the recycled pavement and weaken the environmental pollution.

In order to achieve the penetration method which could reflect the high temperature property of SBS modified asphalt, the paper presented the penetration test of SBS modified asphalt with different types and dosages of SBS modifier at three kinds of penetration weight and four different temperatures. Meanwhile, the high temperature performance of the SBS modified asphalt mixture was studied. It was found that penetration measured under current specification method (25oC, 100g, 5s) could not identify the difference of viscosity and high temperature property of different SBS modified asphalt. When the test conditions are revised to “penetration weight of 150 g, test temperature of 30oC, penetration time of 5s”, the penetration of different SBS modified asphalt measured by revised method could be used to evaluate the temperature susceptibility of SBS modified asphalt accurately and are closely related to the dynamic stability of mixture.

Through conventional and unconventional tests, the influences of self-developed warm-mix agent on the performances of SBS modified asphalt are studied. The results show that the warm-mix agent has great influences on the ductility and aging quality changes of SBS modified asphalt; and the warm-mix agent can improve the asphalt rutting factor G*/sinδ and fatigue factor G* • sinδ. The mixing ratio of the warm-mix SBS modified asphalt mixture is designed based on GTM method and the pavement performance is compared and verified. The results show that: in terms of high temperature performance, the warm-mix asphalt mixture is superior to the corresponding hot-mix asphalt mixture; and in terms of low temperature performance and water stability, the former is equivalent to the latter.

Warm mix asphalt is a new type of environment-friendly pavement material with high energy-saving and low emission and it has been attracted a number of attentions to its pavement performance. In this paper, LRT, a viscosity and resistance reducing agent for asphalt, was selected as the warm mix agent to add into SMA-13 asphalt mixture. The high temperature and water stability, low temperature crack resistance and fatigue property of both hot and warm mix SMA-13 asphalt mixtures were evaluated, and various aspects of pavement performance of both materials were comparatively analyzed.

In order to improve the performance of granite asphalt mixtures, as well as make full use of waste concrete, the AC-25 asphalt mixtures were prepared using fine recycled concrete aggregate and coarse granite aggregate. The moisture stability, high-temperature property, low-temperature property and fatigue property of asphalt mixtures were investigated. Results indicate that fine recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) improves the moisture stability and low-temperature property of granite asphalt mixtures which can meet the requirements of China’s Technical Specification for Construction of Highway Asphalt Pavements (JTG F40-2004) and even are better than those of traditional limestone asphalt mixtures. Meanwhile, fine RCA makes the advantage of granite asphalt mixtures in high-temperature property more distinct with good fatigue property.

Rutting test, residual stability test and freeze-thaw split test were used to measure the properties of asphalt mixture with different graduation and same mixing amount of fibers, the results were analyzed to obtain the influence of graduation types in the road performance of fiber-reinforced asphalt mixture. The results showed as follows: fibers could obvious improve the high temperature property and water stability of asphalt mixture; the graduation types have visible impact on the improvement of all properties of fibers-reinforced asphalt mixture; SMA-13 has the greatest influence in improving the performance of fibers-reinforced mixture; the improving effect of dense graduation AC mixture will gradually decrease when the nominal maximum aggregate size was becoming bigger; graduation optimization design should be used in mix design of fibers-reinforced mixture to enhance its road performance.

Using SBR and epoxy to modified warm-mix asphalt, the penetrability, ductility, softening point of bitumen at different aging times are tested, the comparative analysis of the modified effects of two modified agents to the asphalt mixture is made; Construction temperature of asphalt is determined by using temperature - porosity curve; The results reflect epoxy resin and SBR can improve the high temperature stability and anti moisture infringement capacity, so propose to use warm mix asphalt concrete for the top layer except in special sections layer.

To study the difference of pavement performance between DAT warm-mix asphalt and hot-mix asphalt, the impact on the SBS asphalt with 10% DAT was studied first. Then AC-5 asphalt mixture was made the Marshall specimens according to the indoor mixing and molding temperature. Analyze the road performance between warm mix asphalt and hot mix asphalt. The experiment results show that the SBS asphalt with DAT has small difference to the original. The DAT warm-mix asphalt has poor water stability and low-temperature stability but good high-temperature stability than the hot mix asphalt when the indoor mixing and molding temperature has 20°C reduction. So DAT warm-mix asphalt can achieve the purpose of energy saving.
