This paper discusses the development of E-saving glass (ESG) in Malaysia by using quality function deployment (QFD) method for market transformation. This paper focuses on two objectives, i.e., (i) to investigate the suitability of the ESG in Malaysian market for customer satisfaction, product quality and manufacturer competitiveness by using systematic tools of QFD process, and (ii) the implementation of ESG by looking at factors analysis based on QFD method and Malaysian market transformation. The QFD method is utilised by a multidisciplinary team to translate a set of customer requirements (the “voice of customer” (VOC)), market research and technical benchmarking data into an appropriate number of prioritised engineering targets that could be met by a new product design.

The freshness of vegetables cannot always be sustained because vegetables are one of the perishable horticultural products. The decline of freshness of these vegetables is due to physical, chemical, and physiological factors which appear naturally after the harvesting process. To ensure the freshness of vegetables when distributed, refrigerated containers were designed in this study by combining the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Teoriya Reshenia Izobretatelskikh Zadatch (TRIZ). To get the voice of customer as the main input in the QFD method, interviews were conducted to 10 vegetable producers in Indonesia as potential consumers of designed refrigerated container products. Contradictions that arise between several technical responses in QFD are resolved by the TRIZ method. As the final result, this study recommends 12 target specifications that can be implemented on the prototype of the designed refrigerated container.

In line with the times, the need for product development ideas has a high selling value. Economic value and product efficiency are highly considered in the design, one of which is the design of a stall or café chair. In general, the most used seats are permanent. In other words, it can't adjust when used for a few people or for a lot of people. Therefore it is necessary to design stalls and café chairs that can be stretched or shortened automatically. The purpose of designing this elongated chair is, it can be arranged so that it can be shortened, with this advantage we can save space and expand the space and of course it will be designed according to consumer needs. The elongated chair is made using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method. Some methods that must be done, namely the Voice of Customer collection phase, which is done by distributing questionnaires to 25 respondents. The next step is House of Quality based on the results of the questionnaire. After the HOQ is completed, then the analysis and implementation phase of the results obtained at HOQ will be applied to the product design.

Abstract Purpose: The objective of successful companies is the integration of customer requirements in the development process of a new product. Therefore, the Quality Function Deployment method has proven useful several times. The customer requirements often contain contradictions, which are mostly solved by compromises. The aim should be to integrate all customers’ demands and wishes into future products. Methodology: The theory of inventive problem solving can be applied to eliminate compromises in the product development. The method’s different tools enable a goal-oriented and systematic conflict resolution and may help to uncover trends. This paper displays an approach where individual tools of TRIZ are integrated into the Quality Function Deployment. Results: The result of this work is the presentation of the resulting benefits from combining the two methods. For this reason, individual tools of TRIZ are used in different points of the QFD process. The paper shows examples of starting points. Value of paper: In the context of this paper, the benefits from the interaction of QFD and TRIZ are presented. These are particularly evident in the initial phase of project implementation. In this phase the goal of the QFD process is to succeed in translating the voice of the customer for the company and then integrating it into the product development.

It is important that SMEs are able to prioritize business quality by identifying business requirements based on customer requirements. This strategy is able to help SMEs generate innovation in the form of improved business quality activities to meet customer requirements. This approach uses the “quality function deployment (QFD)” method to identify the priority business requirements and improvement actions to generate business quality. As a result, we managed to identify five priority variable business requirements (BReqs) based on seven variable customer requirements (CReqs) with the lowest satisfaction score. We proposed some improvement actions in perspective quality based on five priority business requirements. Moreover, the final quality matrix of business quality improvement priority generally makes it easier for users to read and find out which variables need to be improved. This research also presents a solution so that users can perform business actions effectively and efficiently in allocating their resources.
