At present, the trend in new building techniques is to move towards light construction systems, and efforts are also being made to use such techniques with multi-storey buildings. It is a characteristic of the Light Building construction system that a substantial part of the structure of a building is made up of thermal insulation, and heavy and wet processes are eliminated. The article focuses on the options for the use of a specific new technique which utilizes the advantages of large-format construction panels composed of 15 mm thick wood chipboard cladding glued using a polyurethane adhesive directly onto rigid thermal insulation, which is most frequently made from façade polystyrene. No other reinforcement is used. The consistency and load-bearing capacity of the panels are exclusively provided by the gluing of the insulation to the cladding using a polyurethane adhesive. The contribution focuses on the prospects for the use of this interesting technique from the aspect of the fire safety of apartment buildings; so far it has only been used for family homes. The contribution also contains a comparison of construction-related technical and financial indicators of use of this technique with standard construction systems employed for timber structures and also with traditional ceramic masonry from the viewpoint of the fire resistance of individual structures.

Production of building materials is mostly energy consuming. In the sphere of insulation materials we mostly see rock wool based materials or foam-plastic materials whose production process is demanding from material aspect and raw materials aspect as well. At present the demand for thermal insulation materials has been growing globally. The thermal insulation materials form integral part of all constructions in civil engineering. The materials mainly fulfill the thermal insulating functions and also the sound-insulating one. The majority of thermal insulation materials are able to fulfill both of the functions simultaneously. The paper describes questions of thermal insulation materials development with good sound properties based on natural fibres that represent a quickly renewable source of raw materials coming from agriculture. The main advantage of the materials are mainly the local availability and simple renewability of the raw materials. In addition an easy recycling of the materials after their service life end in the building construction and last but not least also the connection of human friendly properties of organic materials with advanced product manufacture qualities of modern insulation materials.

The paper deals with the solution of interconnections of flue and combustible construction products in the fire safety design. It is focused mainly on a prescribed value of safe distance of the wooden building construction from a single-walled metal chimneys. The aim of article is to point out the necessity to solve the contradictory requirements in the Slovak legislation and inconsistency with the foreign regulations in terms of fire rates caused by chimneys and flues.

During the last decades, only a little attention has been given to the design and renovation of the entrances to residential buildings. Given underestimation of the problem in the design has resulted in a negative impact on both indoor building environment and aesthetics of the building. Recently, together with the renovation of external walls claddings (by application of additional thermal insulation and replacements of windows and doors) and upgrading and modernizing the installations services such as heating and plumbing systems, also the entrance construction components finds their place in the renovation process. This article analyses the problems connected with renovation of building entrances and summarizes information about the current efforts in engineering and architectural praxis.

In China the development pace of green building is becoming more and more fast. But there are many technical problems during the green building construction. The Library of Shandong Jiaotong University is the first case of green library building in China. The ecological implementation in the atrium is one of the important ecological strategies of the Library. While construction we encountered more technical problems, especially the contradiction between the natural ventilation, natural lighting and fire safety. In this article based on the atrium technology design of the green building and combined the practice of the atrium some strategies realizing natural lighting, natural ventilation in the fire safety, applicable, economy and art.are summarized in detail. It is the aim to give some references and to promote the green building implementation.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar perubahan daktilitas struktur akibat pengaruh dinding bata merah Kata Kunci : daktilitas, dinding pengisi, equivalent diagonal strut, analisis pushover, performance point  ABSTRACT The clay brick infill panels are seldom included in design analysis of reinforced concrete structural systems. So that it influences the strength and stiffness of the infill panels not considered in planning building construction. Usually, in designing, the structural system is assumed as an open frame structure with non structural clay brick panels considered as gravity loads on the beam. In facts, in many earthquake cases,  the panels  participates in carry on the lateral load. The crack pattern on panels show that the load transfering from frame to panels. The aim of this study was to find out the influence of the clay brick panels on structure ductility. Keywords: clay brick infill panel, ductility, equivalent diagonal strut, performance point, pushover analysis

A comprehensive approach to the problem of improving the quality of construction of residential buildings, allows you to take into account various main factors that affect the quality of construction in General. Using the method of expert opinions, the most significant parameters were identified. The weight of each factor is determined using a mathematical model. The experiment examined three levels of variation in significance for each group of factors. After obtaining a discrete value of a complex indicator of the quality of construction of a residential building, it is interpreted using adapted quantitative ranges of values of the generalized Harrington desirability function. A method has been developed to determine the effectiveness of organizational and technological decisions made. An algorithm has also been developed to improve the quality of residential building construction.
