The use of knowledge management tools definitely improves the quality of services offered by the digital libraries. As, these tools are mainly open source it’s easy to integrate these tools for the effective knowledge management given the condition, the basic purpose of implementation is clear. There may be different hurdles that might come while the implementation of the tools. These hurdles can be overcome with the help of the proposed framework which is very much efficient in integrating these tools with effective library management.

The aim of this chapter is to share recent findings and understanding on how information systems can be better adopted to support new ways of work and improve productivity in public funded healthcare. The limits of transferring explicit and tacit knowledge are discussed and moreover, the chapter elaborates barriers to the widespread use of knowledge management tools among clinicians. The impacts of an inter-organizational system used for remote consultation between secondary and primary care providers are examined. Furthermore, the authors suggest that issues related to clinical knowledge management such as the varying information and knowledge processing needs of clinicians from various medical expertise domains should be examined carefully when developing new clinical information systems.

Study shows the importance of using knowledge management approach in digital libraries context. Using two different government entities, Ministry of Health and Infraero - Brazilian Airports, both cases are treated under knowledge management principles, particularly measure of knowledge and socialization. The methodology applied involved two surveys in different groups: a survey to identify the existence of knowledge management parameters applied to the library employees and a survey to validate a digital library proposition applied to managers and decision makers. Results showed that knowledge management tools are not completely applied in libraries and there is a large worked field to be done, mainly in digital libraries.
