Pile Dynamic Formulas are the oldest and frequently used method to determine bearing capacity of piles. The more recent method is based on the Wave Equation analysis and different formulations such as Case Mathod, TNO, CAPWAP and TEPWAP which were developed for pre-driving analysis and post-driving measurements applications. The major factors for the common use of the dynamic formulas have been due to their simplicity, cost effectiveness and applicability in various piling situations. However, in some literature the energy approach have been given an unfair reputation as being unreliable and less accurate than the more analytical or dynamic testing methods. One of the issues due to the poor performance of the dynamic formulas is that, historically, the hammer energy and the energy trasferred to pile had to be assumed. Nevertheless, with the advent of computers, new technologies are emerging with the advancement in construction industry. This has produced gradual improvements that have resulted in the dynamic method to be used on many projects with greater reliability. In this paper, a review of the different testing methods as well as pros and cons of the pile driving formulas are discussed. Also, an approach to improving the widely used Hiley dynamic equation is presented. This approach enables evaluation of the pile capacity to be made more accurately.

UNSTRUCTURED During COVID-19, the clinical and healthcare demands have been on the rapid rise. Major challenges to addressing the pandemic include a lack of testing kits and shortages of ventilators to treat severe cases of COVID-19, insufficient accessibility to personal protective equipment for both hospitals and the public. New technologies have been developed by scientists, researchers, and companies in response to these demands. In this paper, 90 news articles and scientific reports on COVID-19-related innovations during 2020-2021 were screened and shortlisted to form a pool of candidates yielding a total of 20 publications for review which were then categorized into three sections: personal protective equipment, testing methods, and medical treatments. Each study was analyzed for its engineering characteristics and potential social impact on the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, the guidelines for future disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment were summarized and discussed.

Objectives: 1.To studies the categorical prevalence of temperament of scholastically backward children. 2. To study the associated Psychiatric problems with type of temperament in scholastically backward children. Material and Methods: Total of 1480 children studying in 3 CBSE schools, aged between 6 and 12 years were screened. 312 children were found to scholastically backward. After simple randomization and further screening procedure 115 children were included in the study. Each child was assessed by interviewing with MINI-KID Questionnaire, temperament assessment scale, I Q assessment by using Reven’s coloured progressive matrices, CBCL and final diagnosis done by ICD DCR criteria.  Statistical analysis was done using Epi Info 7 software. Results: The prevalence of scholastically backwardness was found to be 21.08%. The distribution of scholastically backward children belongs to falling types of temperament found to be easy temperament-41.74 %, difficult temperament 13.91 % and slow to warm temperament 44.35% respectively. Majority of scholastically backward children belongs to slow to warm type of temperament. All the difficult temperament children were associated with one or the other psychiatric problems. 18.75% of children with easy temperament and 74.51% of children with slow to warm are associated with psychiatric problems. Conclusion: Temperament of a child is one of the major factors for scholastic performance. Some children do poor performance in academics, school refusal and school drop outs. Prevalence of difficult temperament in children had associated with 100% psychiatric disorder. Difficult temperament children handling in home and in school is very difficult, so early detection of associated psychiatric problems and early intervention will surely help to handle the further consequences.

<p><i>Software Testing is the process of evaluating a software program to ensure that it performs its intended purpose. Software testing verifies the safety, reliability, and correct working of software. The growing need for quality software makes software testing a crucial stage in Software Development Lifecycle. There are many methods of testing software, however, the choice of method to test a given software remains a major problem in software testing. Although, it is often impossible to find all errors in software, employing the right combination of methods will make software testing efficient and successful. Knowing these software testing methods is the key to making the right selection. This paper presents a comprehensive study of software testing methods. An explanation of Testing Categories was presented first, followed by Testing Levels (and their comparison), then Testing Techniques (and their comparison). For each Testing Levels and Testing Techniques, examples of some testing types and their pros and cons were given with a brief explanation of some of the important testing types. Furthermore, a clear and distinguishable explanation of two confused and contradictory terms (Verification and Validation) and how they relate to Software Quality was provided.</i></p>

Information technology and telecommunication is considered a new and quickly evolving branch of science. New technologies and services in IT and telecommunications impose successive changes and updates on related engineering majors, especially in practical qualification that includes using software facilities. This chapter aims to join the efforts to spread the use of open source software in academic education. The chapter consists of two main sections. The first presents the trend of using open source software in higher education and discusses pros and cons of using open source software in engineering education. The second section presents network traffic analysis as an example of recent effective research topics and provides a set of open source tools to perform the research's practical steps. The research example with the suggested tools is valid as practical lab work for telecommunication and IT-related majors.

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is an important source of capital for economic growth in developing countries. It provides a package which constitutes new technologies, management techniques, finance and market access for the production and movement of goods and services. However, attracting FDI is a major challenge for host countries as it faces the challenge of identifying the major factors that motivate and affect the FDI location decision. The main FDI location factors are cost, market infrastructure, and technological, political, legal and socio-cultural factors. Despite several conflicting circumstances, Nepal is attempting to sort out overarching issues of FDI concerning with economic development. That’s why Nepal is at a point where from it can excel for economic goals via FDI. The set trends illustrate that various indicators pertaining to FDI in the country has been improving since peace process was begun in 2006. This analysis comes to conclusions that the country owns unique advantages and, thereby, opportunities of FDI useful for the country’s prosperity. Yet FDI in the country is not free of challenges, thus, that need to be timely addressed with prudent measures.

In modern industrial production some of the major factors of successful development include: cost reduction of the production, im-provement of its quality, as well as help to minimise the time in market en-try. Computer-aided design and Computer-aided engineering (CAD / CAE - systems) are the most effective for implementation of these requirements. Possible use of this engineering modeling simulation in conjunction with the power and speed of high performance computing could reduce costs and time of each cycle of designing, and also significantly reduce devel-opment time. The introduction of new technologies, the use of high quality products and engagement of qualified personnel would allow businesses and organizations to get on a path of innovative development of design and production systems.
