The actively prestressed strengthening technique of CFRP plate is a kind of strengthening technology with great application in the future. After a comparison and conclusion of the advantages and disadvantages of various prestressed tensile techniques for CFRP plate from home and abroad, based on the WSGG anchor, this paper puts forward the hinged anchor and a new technique where the hinged anchor tensions in vertical direction, the biggest characteristic of this technique is to ensure force uniformity of CFRP plate, consequently, high strength feature of CFRP plate can be fully developed. In addition, a series of improvement have been achieved, such as on-site baiting, fast clamping and rapid tensioning, etc. of CFRP plate. Hinged anchor and its prestressed tensile technique are firstly applied for the reinforced projects of Chongqing Xiaojia River Bridge and Chongqing Lianhua River Bridge, which promote rapid strengthening for the old bridges successfully.

Abstract. Hydrogen sulfide in biogas is one of the most obstructive factors on utilization of biogas as fuel gas. At present, a domestic desulfurizing process of biogas in wide-spead use is the ferric oxide process. But this process has its disadvantages: the high cost and difficult regeneration of the desulfurizer, the secondery pollution the process caused. As a new technique, the bio-desulfurization of biogas has drawn more and more attention recently. This dissertation, with the experience of engineering abroad bio-desulfurization, is focused on providing a clue or a reference for the research and application of this technique in the future.

Owing to limit in transportation and production, the connection of FRP rebars is an unavoidable problem. A coaxial joining scheme for FRP rebars using winding wet fabrics and fiber bundle/belt composite is presented in this paper. The experimental results indicate that the connection method is effective. And it has the following characteristics: small size, light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, easy to construction etc. Facing the development of the engineering application in the future, some works need further research are putting forward.

A new electrogoniometer technique is described for the measurement of wrist movements, including circumduction, with the results being displayed as figures. Clinical validation has been performed and the system found to be highly accurate and reliable. Applications of the technique are illustrated. It is suggested this technique should in the future be used to assess wrist movement in clinical and research applications.

With the ending of the war, many of us feel that the world and the life of earlier years will never return. The rapid developments in all fields during the past several years will leave their results with us, and we shall feel and live them long into the future. Education has had its share in this transition. During the training of American youth all methods of presentation of subject matter had to be tried for the quickest and best method. Needless to say visual instruction received a major emphasis; enough to make it a definite part of modern teaching.

Objective: A new technique of direct phonoplasty under local anaesthetic is described. Background: Vocal-fold medialization is an accepted method to improve voice in patients with a paralysed vocal fold. Various materials have been used to inject into the paralysed vocal fold, resulting in medialization of the fold and improved phonation. The two established methods are direct injection under general anaesthetic and transcutaneous injection under local anaesthetic; both have advantages and disadvantages. Method: A Pentax 80K series flexible endoscope is used to directly inject collagen into the paralysed vocal fold via a reusable 23G endoscopic needle under local anaesthetic. Conclusion: New technology and innovation have allowed development of the new technique of direct phonoplasty under local anaesthetic. This combines the advantages of transcutaneous injection under local anaesthetic and direct injection under general anaesthetic, without their disadvantages.
