With the high speed railway construction in our country, the launch of the railway engineering will inevitably lead to all kinds of engineering geological problems, resulting in the construction and operation of landslides, sudden gushing mud, rock blasting and other diseases. So with geological environment and engineering geological conditions of the station tunnel excavation , analysis and evaluate the influence of the engineering geological conditions of the tunnel, put forward the measures and suggestions for the engineering, and provide the basis for tunnel design and construction .

This paper presents the investigation of surface geology and subsurface engineering geology to analyze the excavation method and stand-up time of the DK99-DK100 Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway Tunnel, Indonesia. Rock mass quality, tunnel excavation method, and stand-up time determined using Geological Strength Index (GSI), Basic Quality (BQ) systems, converted to Rock Mass Rating (RMR) and The Japan Society of Civil Engineering (JSCE) for comparison. The result shows that the study area consists of slightly to completely weathered andesite breccia and slightly weathered andesite lava. The rock masses at the tunnel elevation had very poor to poor quality and were associated with high weathering degrees. The recommended rock excavation method based on the GSI is digging. The recommended tunnel excavation method based on RMR is multiple drifts, top heading, and bench, while based on JSCE is bench cut method. The tunnel stand-up time is 30 minutes - 2 hours based on the RMR, while it is predicted to be unstable without support based on the BQ. The recommended design is expected to be applied effectively according to the geological conditions. It is expected to understand better the tunnel excavation method in poor rock masses, especially in Indonesia.

Depending on a project of constructing a tunnel of high-speed railway which crosses underneath the foundation of tall buildings in weathered rock area, the paper analyzes the failure process and its law of anti-seismic mortar anchors under the foundation of tall buildings by simulating the whole process of construction with finite element model. Then the coverage scope, influence rules and extent of tunnel excavation on the anti-pulling effect and stability of mortar anchors are analyzed according to the changes of lateral pressure and axial force of anti-seismic mortar anchors before and after construction. The results show that the influence area can be divided into three parts, of which the main area where the anti-seismic mortar anchors are badly affected is on the top of the tunnel and extends horizontally to a certain range. Finally, the paper gives an applicable method to estimate the area where the anti-seismic mortar anchors should be strengthened by grouting, which also applies to the similar projects in weathered rock area.

This paper mainly deals with the structural design of high speed railway tunnel and its driving method in abrupt slope with loose rockmass, meanwhile summarizes the connection between tunnel portal and bridge abutment in loose rockmass according to complicated landform and geology. The anti-slide piles are adopted to retain the stability of abrupt slope near the tunnel portal. In order to eliminate the risk and cost in tunnel construction, four bench cut method is invented to satisfy the safe excavation of loose rockmass in the tunnel. Composite fiber rockbolt is also employed to keep the stability of working face while driving the tunnel. The innovative tunneling method presented in the paper can be applied to guide the rational design and economical construction of high speed railway tunnels in loose surrounding rock under harsh geological conditions.

In modern life, metro and high-speed rails have become indispensable transportation and have been playing an important role in many areas, especially in cities. The metro and high-speed rails have varying degrees of impact on the surface and surrounding buildings, which must be carefully understood to minimize the risk of hazards. This work is aimed at investigating the deformation of ground surface and the surrounding structures, caused by the excavation of underground tunnels. Because of the spatiotemporal characteristics of the land subsidence induced by underground tunnel construction, the measurements obtained from InSAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry) and leveling techniques are integrated to study the subsidence phenomenon of the ground surface above the shield tunnels and the surrounding buildings. The subsidence-related parameters, including the advance angles, lag angles, and boundary angles, are derived from the deformation results. This study suggests that leveling and InSAR observations can provide technical support to study the subsidence of dense buildings on the surface of shield tunnel excavation and to protect the surrounding environment.

This paper is based on one project of Metro shield tunnel across a high-speed railway bridge. In the study the impact of train operations is taken into account, the finite-element method is adopted to analyze effect of shield tunneling. The conclusions indicate that according to the different tunnels and relative positions of pile, the excavation of the tunnels would have different effects on pile foundation. When the construction of shield across the bridge, the nature of the soil and will have an effect on deformation and stress of pile. Due to tunnel excavation of bridge internal force on bridge attached to the forces of good roles and bad role. Additional deformation of the beams and the additional forces are very small, so they will not affect the bridge work.

In China high-speed railway engineering practice, embankment settlements calculated values were often greatly different to the measured values, which may result from the stresses distribution under the embankment usually simplified. According to this issue, the elastic embankment method was introduced, the stresses under various embankment were calculated, the influence factors of the stresses values and distribution were analyzed. The stresses calculated by elastic embankment method, proportional load form and uniform load form were compared with the measured stresses. The relationship among the four kinds of stresses was analyzed. The applicable conditions of the various calculation methods were put forward. If the ratio of embankment half surface width and height was less than 4.5, when the stresses calculated by uniform load form were multiplied by correction coefficient 1.15, they were tallied well with the measured stresses.
