By doing research on the optical characteristics of TFEL panel, a driver circuit controlled by Field-Programmable Gate Array(FPGA) is designed. This design adopts an unsymmetrical way to lighten the panel which is different from the custom symmetrical hybrids. The availability of this unsymmetrical structure improves the stability when the system is on the high-voltage condition, prolongs the service life of the driver circuit, and significantly reduces the costs of a TFEL display system.

A bio-inspired robotic brain is presented where the same spiking neural network (SNN) can implement five variations of learning by conditioning (LC): classical conditioning (CC), and operant conditioning (OC) with positive/negative reinforcement/punishment. In all cases, the links between input stimuli, output actions, reinforcements and punishments are strengthened depending on the stability of the delays between them. To account for the parallel processing nature of neural networks, the SNN is implemented on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA), and the neural delays are extracted via an adaptation of the synapto-dendritic kernel adapting neuron (SKAN) model, for a low resource demanding FPGA implementation of the SNN. A custom robotic platform successfully tested the ability of the proposed architecture to implement the five LC behaviors. Hence, this work contributes to the engineering field by proposing a scalable low resource demanding architecture for adaptive systems, and the cognitive field by suggesting that both CC and OC can be modeled as a single cognitive architecture.

This paper presents a high voltage gain of a DC-DC converter. The proposed system consists of voltage multiplier circuits and a coupled inductor of a boost DC-DC converter. The input voltage of the voltage multiplier circuit is the induced voltage of inductor at a boost DC-DC converter. The field programmable gate array (FGPA) is used for generating the control signal of the proposed system. To verify the proposed circuit, an experiment was conducted from the prototype circuit. The proposed circuit can step-up the voltage with high voltage gain. Moreover, the voltage across the switch is very low.

In this paper, we show picometer-order mechnical displacmment measurements using a heterodyne interferometer with a phase-locked loop (PLL). A heterodyne light source for the interferometer is implemented with a frequency stabilized HeNe laser and two acousto-optic modulators. A real time phase measurement is performed by the PLL, whose software is programmed in a field-programmable gate array (FPGA). A stiff parallel spring stage combined with a high-voltage piezoelectric actuator is used to generate picometer-order mechanical motion. With the above implementations, mechanical displacement of 10 picometer or less can be measured.

The influence of the periodicity of diagnostic measurements on the operational state of high-voltage transformers is considered. Examples of defects of switching devices of converter transformers and methods for their detection are given. The rationale for the importance of recognition of defects at an early stage of their occurrence is given. The influence of the multiplicity of overvoltages on the service life of converter transformers in the aluminum industry is investigated. Based on the analysis of the service life of converter transformers of one of the powerful aluminum plants, where 83% of converter transformers have exhausted their standard service life, it is shown that in 40% of cases it would be possible to avoid their failures, with timely detection and elimination of emerging defects. Examples of defects of OLR (on-load regulators) of converter transformers and methods for their detection are given. The importance of recognition of defects at an early stage of their occurrence is substantiated. A method for chromatographic analysis of dissolved gases in transformer oil has been developed for the qualitative determination of defects and ways to eliminate them. Examples of diagnostics of converter transformers at operating voltage and working load are given, providing the best quality operational characteristics of converter transformers. The periodicity of diagnostic measurements and the reduction of defects and failures has been substantiated. The question of diagnosing the state of the converter transformer TDNP-40000/10 at an enterprise of the aluminum industry is investigated. Currently, diagnostic methods are being developed based on chromatographic analysis of dissolved gases in transformer oil. The presented method of evaluating the operating parameters of transformers allows for the safe operation of high-voltage transformers and enables to increase the reliability of the power supply scheme of aluminum industry plants.
