Finite element model of track in frog zone is built by vehicle-turnout system dynamics. Considering variation of rail section and elastic support, bending deformation of turnout sleeper, spacer block and sharing pad effects, the track integral rigidity distribution in longitudinal direction is calculated in the model. Vehicle-turnout rigid-flexible coupling model is built by finite element method (FEM), multi-body system (MBS) dynamics and Hertz contact theory. With the regularity solution that different stiffness is applied for rubber pad under sharing pad of different turnout sleeper zone, analysis the variation of vertical acceleration of bogie and wheelset, rail vertical displacement and wheel-rail interaction force, this paper proves that setting reasonable rubber pad stiffness is an efficient method to solve rigidity irregularity problem.

For research on comprehensive performance of crankshaft in piston compressor, multi-body dynamics model was built to get mechanical boundary conditions of the crankshaft, and the fatigue strength was verified; Finite element model (FEM) of the crankshaft was established, and the 1st 6 modal of the crankshaft was obtained. The results showed that fatigue strength and dynamic characteristic of the crankshaft was qualified. Theoretical basis could be provided for optimize the crankshaft’s structure by fatigue strength and modal analysis.

Since the vehicle accident is one of the major causes of dead and injury in Thailand, especially the large passenger vehicle. The seat anchorage was often damaged and lead to high number and critical of patient. To improve the safety of large passenger vehicle, seat anchorage should be investigated. The aim of this research was to analyze strength of seat anchorages for the bus according to European standard ECE Regulation 80 using finite element method and DOE(Design of Experimental) approach. In this study, the boundary conditions on finite element model of seat structure were defined according to the regulation. It is expected that the simulation techniques could be advantaged for seat anchorage analysis. This result will be used for further improvement of the bus seat anchorage design for safety and cost reduction in design processes.

The establishment of FCEV finite element model of the subframe is based on Hypermesh platform, and a new subframe structure is designed in accordance with the stiffness and strength analysis on the original subframe in all conditions. High-strength steel materials are used to optimize the design of this new structure, which result in the optimal size. Through the comparative analysis of the strength, stiffness, mode shape and quality on new subframe and the original one, it is verified that the design of the new subframe is reasonable and feasible.

As the most dominative component under stress in an external combustion cam engine, the working condition of piston is very rigor. Once new design type and technical improvement is applied, it is necessary to analysis its thermal load and take secure steps. And the finite element model on each conditions of thermal is calculated, which is used to estimate the temperature field and provide a theoretical basis for further structural strength analysis and optimization design. Choosing analysis results of the piston as reference and taking five structural parameters of the piston as design variables, two objective functions including piston mass and maximal Von Mises stress are respectively considered. The optimum design of the piston is executed and the results indicate that it is feasible to improve temperature field and strength of the piston. These results enrich and develop the research on structural analysis and optimization of spatial engine, which are of guiding significance for analyzing engine strength and related problem in theoretically.

With the development of advanced composites technology, composites instead of traditional aluminum alloy, will be widely used to build full-size aircraft windshield structure in the aviation field. The finite element model of commercial aircraft composite windshield is established in the environment of Msc.Patran / Nastran. And based on Tasi-Wu failure criterion, the strength of windshield structure under typical load pressure is predicted and analyzed during failure processes. It shows that composite windshield can work better through rational design according to the analysis result.

In order to improve the bearing capacity and service life of the locomotive traction gears, modern design methods are used to optimize the gear tooth curves and their parameters. The simulation of the involute tooth curves and tooth root transition curves of the traction gears are build by Ansys Parametric Design Language (APDL). It can accurately describe the finite element model with complex geometries. It laid a solid foundation for the tooth strength analysis and modification.

Based on studying the existing electric wheelchairs for disabled are not well adapted to a variety of road conditions, broken through the structure of traditional wheelchairs, a design proposal that can make electric wheelchair achieve the function of climbing stairs and walking was putted forward and a novel mechanism was designed. The mechanism can make the crawler chassis and the wheels of wheelchair switch when needed, and make the wheelchair travel freely and flexible on the ground or on the stairs. The finite element model of the mechanism was built, and the strength analysis was carried out. The strength analysis provide the theoretical basis for the prototype manufacture.

The CAD software was used to establish 3D model of frame of dump truck, and the finite element model was established through Hyper Mesh. The stress distributions of the frame in vertical accelerating, turning, twisting and climbing conditions were computed through finite element software when the dump truck was loaded 80t. The result is consistent with the actual situation of the frame, which proved that the approach of finite element analysis is feasible. And we proposed the improved method of the frame according to finite element results.
