This work deals with three-dimensional (3D) modeling of container cranes including the hoisting cable length commands. The proposed models allow to effectively study the 3D motion caused by the eccentricity of initial conditions or loading conditions such as those induced by wind. The container is modeled as a 3D rigid body while the hoisting cables are treated either as inextensible trusses or as linearly elastic straight, taut cables. The 3D model with inextensible cables is shown to coalesce into existing two-dimensional models under the relevant planarity constraints. Details about the treatment of the internal inextensibility constraints are discussed. Time-marching simulations are carried out to show representative 2D and 3D responses to initial conditions and commanded motion of the trolley. The main differences between the constrained model and that with the elasticity of the cables are highlighted in the framework of a few significant design scenarios.

This paper mainly studies modeling and recognition of 3D English words’ images. With the development of secondary modeling, segmentation and recognition theories and the application of evolution computation in 3D modeling and recognition, this paper analyzes the issues of parameter fitting in the 3D model, multi-object scene segmentation and parts recognition aiming at the 3D data features in the English words. The 3D model is used as the primitives part to model and segment the scenes and the group parallel evolution and the relationship matching theories are introduced into the 3D modeling and recognition to deeply identify the rare English words’ images. The paper searches for a practical and efficient three-dimensional modeling and identification scheme.

This article shows the geometric modeling and virtual reconstruction of the optical telegraph by Agustín de Betancourt and Abraham Louis Breguet developed at the end of the 18th century. Autodesk Inventor Professional software has been used to obtain the three-dimensional (3D) model of this historical invention and its geometric documentation. The material for the research is available on the website of the Betancourt Project of the Canary Orotava Foundation for the History of Science. Thanks to the three-dimensional modeling performed, it has been possible to explain in detail both its operation and the assembly system of this invention in a coherent way. After carrying out its 3D modeling and functional analysis, it was discovered that the transmissions in the telegraph were not performed by hemp ropes but rather by metal chains with flat links, considerably reducing possible error. Similarly, it has also been found that the use of the gimbal joint facilitated the adaptability of the invention to geographical areas where there was a physical impediment to the alignment of telegraph stations. In addition, it was not now necessary for the telescope frames to be located parallel to the mast frame (frame of the indicator arrow) and therefore they could work in different planes.

The method of three-dimensional model in the system of computer modeling MathCad and Autodesk 3ds Max by categories of total soil pollution is developed. A visualization block and an analytical block have been developed which are based on calculated mathematical models for analyzing and evaluating the environmental situation, risks, and environmental safety of the territory. Three-dimensional models of relief mapping of the Pekhorka river fl oodplain are constructed by integrating them with the help of a programming environment and optimized 3D modeling programs. Three-dimensional models with total soil contamination for water body sections are constructed. On the example of some sections of the catchment area of the Pekhorka river in the Balashikha region, models with soil contamination by the total ZC indicator were created. The development of 3D modeling techniques allows you to create predictive scenarios more accurately with a high degree of detail, as well as quickly approach the solution of environmental problems. Optimization of three-dimensional modeling in the fi eld of problems related to the catchment area contributes to the further operational solution of problems of rational land use and improvement of the environmental situation.

Despite efficiency of modern implantology, unplanned perforation and drill deviation could be happened during freehand placement. The aim of this study was to provide a methodology for fabricating dental surgical drill guide for fully edentulous patients while it was flexible in term of changing drill diameter. The data of patient consisted of bone anatomy and radio-opaque template obtained from computed tomography. Jawbone and radio-opaque template three dimensional models converted into a three dimensional modeling software by means of an image processing package. Based on jawbone anatomy and radio-opaque template, implantation plan and design of surgical guides were carried out in three dimensional software. Rapid prototyping technique was used to manufacture several surgical guides to be used in different drilling sequences. Finally stainless steel tubes were accommodated passage of drill. Sequential surgical guides were different only in terms of the metal tubes internal diameter. This provides the ability of changing diameter of the implant or drill after fabricating surgical guide.

Among the studies done with rodents, the behavioral ones stand out. To perform these studies, the behavioral boxes are commonly used. These are devices in which the rodents perform some task to receive a reward. These animals are considered excellent subjects for studying the tactile sensory system, since they use their whiskers to locate and discriminate objects. In this work the goal is studying the sensory system of rodents in tasks in which the animals must discriminate the width of an aperture, using only their whiskers to receive a reward. We aim to develop an automated open-hardware behavioral box to perform task of tactile discrimination in rodents. For such, we designed the box using a three-dimensional modeling software and its control is implemented with Arduino, which was tested in a computer model trhough physical simulation. All used components are low cost and can be found or developed in Brazil. The present study provides an important tool for the study of the tactile sensory system, that makes possible other laboratories to build their own behavior box for tactile studies.

Very complicated as the cycloid wheel movement appears, tridimensional software Solid Works is applied to outer planetary cycloid wheel parts modeling and dynamic simulation with the outcome meeting the prospective design requirements. Therefore, we conclude that tridimensional modeling will be applicable for mechanical designing with great significance. In response to increasingly complicated product designing, the roles of the tridimensional modeling approach will be brought into fuller play. In pin-cycloid gearing, due to the specially curved and differential gear surface, the gearing accuracy and service life of the pin-cycloid are both affected. To get a smooth solution to the problem of the tridimensional surface shaping, priority shall be given to precise drawing of the gears profile curve [.
