A straight pipe viscometer is proposed, which consists of the measuring sub-system and the data-acquisition and signal processing sub-system. The measuring sub-system include straight pipe, pressure transmitter, Coriolis flow-meter and slurry bump, and the data-acquisition and signal processing sub-system include single-chip processor, A/D converter, digital display, serial output port, drive circuit and so on. The measuring principle and working process of the straight pipe viscometer are analyzed. The measurement data and results are given and compared with test results of rotary viscometer in the same test conditions. The measuring accuracy is 3% at 5-150mPas, and the online measurement of viscosity is implemented.

A kind of multiple parameter data acquisition system was designed based on single-chip microcomputer which can realized the data acquisition of temperature and DC motor speed. The data acquisition system consists of sensor, signal processing circuit, single-chip microcomputer and LED digital tube. The speed signal is acquired by photoelectric sensor, put into the Single-chip microcomputer processed after processed by signal processing circuit, and displayed the value in the digital tubes. The temperature signal is acquired by digital sensor, and the Single-chip microcomputer can read the data directly. Through two independent keyboards, the test system realized the data acquisition and data switch displaying of the multiple parameters.

ABSTRACTFor the last several years, we have been developing and characterizing “mobile” micro- and nano-instruments for use on-site (e.g., in the field). Although such portable, battery-operated instruments are much smaller that their laboratory-scale counterparts, sometimes they provide comparable performance and they often offer improved capabilities. As such, they are expected to cause a paradigm shift in classical chemical analysis by allowing practioners to “bring the lab (or part of it) to the sample”. Two classes of examples will be used as the means with which to illustrate the power of micro- and nano-instruments. One class involves a “patient” as the sample and an ingestible capsule-size spectrometer used for cancer diagnosis of the gastro intestinal tack as (part of) “the lab”. The other involves the “environment” as the sample and a portable, battery-operated, miniaturized instrument that utilizes a PalmPilot™ with a wireless interface for data acquisition and signal processing as (part of) “the lab”. To discuss how to electrically power such miniaturized instruments, mobile energy issues will be addressed. Particular emphasis will be paid to current or anticipated future applications and to the paradigm shifts that may prove essential in powering the next generation of miniaturized instruments.

In order to analysis the temperature rising rules of vehicle, road conditions and vehicle running state were considered. Process of friction heat generation, radiation heat and convection current exchange during drum brake working process was researched, and temperature rising model of drum brake was established. Under the guidance of similarity theory and dimension analysis theory, convection current heat exchange test of drum brake was carried out, and the solution equation of convection current heat exchange was obtained. Real road test results shows that the temperature rising curves between calculations and test are basically identical and the maximum inaccuracy variables approximately 20%.

Abstract Bioimpedance analysis is a label-free and easy approach to obtain information on cellular barrier integrity and cell viability more broadly. In this work, we introduce a small, low-cost, portable in vitro impedance measurement system for studies where a shadow-free exposure of the cells is a requirement. It can be controlled by a user-friendly web interface and can perform measurements automated and autonomously at short intervals. The system can be integrated into an existing IoT network for remote monitoring and indepth analyses. A single-board computer (SBC) serves as the central unit, to control, analyze, store and forward the measurement data from the single-chip impedance analyzer. Various materials and manufacturing methods were used to produce a purpose-built lid on top of a modified 24-well microtiter plate in a “do it yourself” fashion. Furthermore, three different sensor designs were developed utilizing anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes and gold-plated electrodes. Preliminary tests with potassium chloride (KCl) showed first promising results.

Most radar systems based on the structure that contains many DSP chips. The system structure is always complex, and it is difficult to update. Nowadays, multi-core processor develops very fast. Compared with DSP chips, multi-core processor has better performance in signal processing field. In this paper, we present a signal processing architecture which based on multi-core processor. Pulse compression algorithms and PCI-E bus are discussed as two important technologies. Adaptive beamforming test results show that multi-core processor is able to achieve radar signal processing.

The purpose of the article is to obtain empirical dependences for the characteristics of three-plunger fire-fighting pumps (TFP), which are necessary for automating calculations of fire extinguishing systems on ships using sprayed seawater. Research objectives: checking the consistency of test data; determining the calculated dependences of the TFP performance, efficiency, power expended on pressure. The analysis of the TFP test results confirmed the possibility of using the proposed dependencies in engineering calculations. The measurement data are in satisfactory agreement with the results of calculations, with the exception of efficiency. The deviation of experimental points from the empirical dependences is most likely due to an underestimation of the power consumed during tests at low pressures. It is proposed to use the previously obtained typical dependence to estimate the efficiency. Graphs are plotted for the characteristics of the NP25/41-170S pump. An example of calculating the working point of a pumping unit using the approximate hydraulic characteristics of the ship's water fire system showed the high efficiency of the proposed methods.
