1wt% CuO-TiO2 (molar ratio, CuO/TiO2= 1) mixture is added as the liquid phase sintering aid to develop the sintering and dielectric characteristics of (Ba1-xSrx)TiO3 (x=0, 0.1, and 0.2) ceramics. The crystal characteristics of calcined (Ba1-xSrx)TiO3 powders and sintered (Ba1-xSrx)TiO3 ceramics are developed by using X-ray diffraction method. The calcined (Ba1-xSrx)TiO3 powders and 1050oC-sintered (Ba1-xSrx)TiO3 ceramics reveal a tetragonal or pseudo-cubic structure and the 1150oC-sintered(Ba1-xSrx)TiO3 ceramics reveal a tetragonal structure. Sintered at 1100oC, the (Ba1-xSrx)TiO3 ceramics present a porous structure; Sintered at 1150oC, the (Ba1-xSrx)TiO3 ceramics present a uniform growth. The grain size decreases with the increase of SrO content. In this study, the dielectric characteristics of CuO-TiO2 mixture-fluxed (Ba1-xSrx)TiO3 ceramics are also developed.

5~15 wt% MgO-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 (MCAS, fabricated by sol-gel method) glass is used as the sintering aid of AlN ceramics. The sintering is proceeded from 1350oC~1550oC, scanning electron microscope is used to observe the sintered morphologies and X-ray diffraction pattern are used to confirm the crystal structures. From the SEM observations, as 10wt% and 15wt% MCAS is added, AlN ceramics can be densified at 1500oC and 1450oC, which are much lower than the before studies were. From the X-ray diffraction patterns, the crystal phases of MCAS-AlN ceramics are AlN, Al2O3, and cordierite phases. In this study, the dielectric characteristics of MCAS-AlN ceramics are also developed as a function of MCAS content and sintering temperature.

Thin film polycrystalline solar cells based on CuIn1–xGaxSe2 have been fabricated and studied with x values from 0 to 1.0. The lattice parameters, grain size, and band gap were measured. Crystal structure and X-ray data of CuIn1–xGaxSe2 were determined using X-ray diffractometry. These materials had a cubic structure with x ≥ 0.5 and a tetragonal structure with x ≤ 0.5. The lattice constants vary linearly with composition. Grain size was measured using X-ray diffraction where the grain size increased linearly with Ga content. A grain size of 1.83-3.52 μm was observed with x ≤ 0.5, while it increased to 4.53 μm for x = 0.58.PACS No.: 70.73

In order to test whether the crystallinity and orientation of ramie fibers have changed after they are treated by the lattice distortion modification processing technology, this paper does some experiments on it. Firstly, process ramie fibers by the lattice distortion modification processing equipment. Then use X-ray diffraction method to determine the crystallinity and orientation of pristine and modified ramie fibers. Finally analyse the effect of lattice distortion modification processing on the lattice structure of ramie fiber. The experimental results show that the lattice structure of ramie fiber has changed after modification processing, with crystallinity, grain size decreasing obviously and orientation slight descent, which make ramie fibers appear softer and more puffy from macrocosmic perspective.

Comparatively large amount of works has been devoted to the investigation of the nearest environment of cesium ions in aqueous solutions. But up to date there are no precise quantitative parameters of it. Information about influence of concentration on cesium salts solutions structure is also absent. In order to get the coordination number of Cs+ ion and its dependence on the amount of dissolved salt the set of aqueous solutions of cesium iodide have been studied by X-ray diffraction method in wide concentration range under ambient conditions. Radial distribution functions (RDFs) of the solutions investigated have been calculated from experimental intensity curves of X-ray scattering. Interpretation of experimental peaks on RDFs has been made. On the basis of experimental results and literature information some physically reasonable models of solution have been constructed. Theoretical RDFs have been calculated for every model. Then an optimization procedure has also been made. On the ground of the best fitness between experimental and theoretical RDFs the optimal models for every solution have been found. All quantitative parameters have been tabulated and analyzed. Hydration numbers of Cs+ and I- increase with dilution, reaching in the solution of molar ratio 1:80 values 6.3 and 4.1, respectively. Interparticle distances of Cs+–ОН2 and I- –ОН2 are equal approximately to 0.312 and 0.359 nm. The ions do not form the second coordination shells. It has been determined that contact ion pairs Cs+–I- exist in whole concentration range investigated.Forcitation:Smirnov P.R., Grechin O.V., Voevodina E.A. Ferrite ceramics, Ni[Formula: see text]Zn[Formula: see text]Co[Formula: see text]Fe[Formula: see text]O4, with the addition of 4[Formula: see text]wt.% Bi2O3 as sintering aid, were fabricated by using a simple one-step processing without involving the step of calcination. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results indicated that single phase ferrite ceramics can be achieved after sintering at 1000[Formula: see text]C for 2[Formula: see text]h. The samples demonstrated relative densities in the range of 97–99%. Desired magneto-dielectric properties have been approached by adjusting the sintering temperature and sintering time duration. This technique is believed to be applicable to other ceramic materials.
