In single-phase bipolar SPWM inverter circuit, the output voltage contains high content of harmonic components. To solve this problem, we build a model of output voltage in single-phase SPWM bipolar inverter based on SPWM theory and Fourier series theory. Through theoretical analysis, calculation and plotting, we work out the distribution of harmonic in output voltage, investigate the relationship between amplitude modulation (AM) depth and harmonic components and finally determine a proper amplitude modulation depth to efficiently reduce harmonic components. To further reduce harmonic components of output voltage, we use LC low-pass filter. Then, based on the mathematical model of the filter and the distribution law of harmonics, we establish a mixed integer nonlinear programming to fully suppress harmonics and reduce switching losses. After searching for two times based on genetic algorithm, we work out the best frequency-modulation ratio and LC low-pass filter parameter. Finally in simulation, total harmonic distortion is reduced from 213.47 percent to 0.16 percent after harmonic suppression strategy implemented. The result has proved the effectiveness of the harmonic suppression strategy we applied, which can be used as a reference for output voltage harmonic elimination in single-phase SPWM inverter.

Synchronous Reference Frame Phase Locked Loop (SRF PLL) has been widely used for synchronization three-phase grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system. On the grid fault, SRF PLL distorted by negative sequence component and grid harmonic that caused an error in estimating parameter because of ripple and oscillation. This work combined SRF PLL with Dual Second Order Generalized Integrator (DSOGI) and filter to minimize ripple and minimize oscillation in the phase estimation and frequency estimation. DSOGI was used for filtering and obtaining the 90o shifted versions from the vαβ signals. These signals (vαβ) were generated from three phase grid voltage signal using Clarke transform. The vαβ signal was the inputs to the positive-sequence calculator (PSC). The positive-sequence vαβ was transformed to the dq synchronous reference frame and became an input to SRF-PLL to create the estimation frequency. This estimation frequency from SRF PLL was filtered by the low-pass filter to decrease grid harmonic. Moreover, the output of low-pass filter was a frequency adaptive. The performance of DSOGI PLL with filter is compared with DSOGI PLL, SRF PLL, and IEEE standard 1547(TM)-2003. The improvement of DSOGI PLL with filter gave better performances than DSOGI PLL and SRF PLLbecause it minimized ripples and oscillations in the phase and frequency estimations.

This paper illustrates regenerative battery charging control method of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive without DC/DC converter. Conventional control methods for battery current and voltage control methods generally use a bidirectional DC/DC converter for regenerative control. The reason to use this DC/DC converter is the DC-Link current ripple of the inverter of is affected by switching of the inverter and the motor speed. This problem causes to use a low pass filter (LPF) for sensing the DC-link current, however, it occurs deteriorating the control performance. In this paper, battery current and voltage control methods using only the motor drive are illustrated. To control the DC-link current, power control is performed using the look-up table (LUT) data that are extracted from the experiment. In addition, an applicable method for the variable DC-link voltage of the proposed regenerative control method is illustrated.

The proposed optimal control on the basis of both current and voltage of the buck-converter is designed to be based on Inverse Linear Quadratic (ILQ) design method with the resonant low pass filter, which eliminates the disturbance by appended disturbance compensator. The designed scheme is composed of the state equation, an optimal ILQ solution, the ILQ servo-system with the disturbance elimination, the optimal basic gain, the optimal condition, the transfer functions and the disturbance compensator. Our results show the proposed strategy is the stability and robust control and has been made to improve ILQ control for the disturbance elimination of the output response, which guarantees the optimal gains on the basis of polynomial pole assignment.

Abstract In this study, an adaptive anti-disturbance control scheme is investigated for a class of unknown pure feedback switched nonlinear systems subjected to immeasurable states and external disturbances. Radial basis function neural networks (RBFNNs) are employed to identify the switched unknown nonlinearities, and a Butterworth low-pass filter is adopted to remove the algebraic loop problem. Subsequently, a novel switched neural state observer and a novel switched disturbance are presented via the coupled design method to estimate the immeasurable states and compounded disturbances. Then, an improved adaptive control strategy for the studied problem is designed with the help of a filtering method to eliminate the “explosion of complexity” problem, and certain compensating signals are set up to compensate for the filter errors, where switched updated laws are constructed to lessen the conservativeness caused by adoption of a common updated law for all subsystems. By utilizing the Lyapunov stability theorem, the developed control scheme can guarantee that all signals in the closed-loop system are bounded under a class of switching signals with the average dwell time (ADT), while the tracking error can converge to a small neighbourhood of origin. Finally, simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented approach.

In this paper, stabilization of fixed points of n-scroll Chua's circuit is investigated. Two adaptive control methods are proposed. One is based on an unstable low pass filter; the other is based on a stable and an unstable low pass filter. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the two proposed control methods and performance comparisons show that the second control method is superior to the first one with regard to control speed and attraction basins.

Abstract A microstrip planar lowpass filter with ultra-wide stopband up to 40 GHz is presented. The filter is designed based on four types of hexagonal-shaped resonators, producing multiple transmission zeroes and extending the stopband. The high-impedance transmission line is folded to make the circuit more compact and form the coupling gaps between the adjacent resonators. A pair of folded open stubs are added to enhance the cut-off rate. As a result, an ultra-wide stopband with 23rd-harmonic suppression has been attained. A demonstration filter has been designed and fabricated with 3 dB cut-off frequency of 1.70 GHz. The measured results show that the relative stop bandwidth of the low-pass filter (LPF) is 182% with suppression level of 25 dB, covering 1.85–40 GHz. The functional area size of the filter is 21.50 × 21.70 mm, which corresponds to 0.198λ g  × 0.200λ g (λ g is the guided wavelength at 3 dB cut-off frequency).
