The electrochemical behavior of 8-oxyquinoline and chelate complexes based on it (Sn (Oxin)Cl3, Ge (Oxin)Cl3, Ti (Oxin)Cl3, W(Oxin)2Cl4, Fe (Oxin)Br, Sb (Oxin)Cl2, Sb (Oxin)Cl4, Sn (Oxin)2Cl2, Ti (Oxin)2Cl2 have been studied by cyclic voltammetry in aprotic solvents in a three-electrode system on platinum and glass-graphite disk electrodes. It has been shown that in the case of metal oxyquinolinates, the ligand is 8-oxyquinoline reducing in two one-electron diffusion waves. The first wave is observed at less negative potentials than the first quinoline one, while the second waves have almost the same potentials. The first wave is related to the OH- proton discharge. The complexes under study are electrolytically oxidizable. A single two-electron peak is observed in the cyclic voltammogram in the anodic region for the Ti (Oxin)Cl3 chelate complex. This is probably associated with two irreversible sequential or parallel stages with close oxidation potentials. By analogy to the processes considered for 8-oxyquinoline, the rupture of the oxygen-metal bond is observed at the first stage. The resulting radical cation is unstable and decomposes into a radical and a cation with a positive charge in the titanium atom. Electrolytic oxidation of complexes Fe (Oxin)Br, Sb (Oxin)Cl2, Sb (Oxin)Cl4, and Sn (Oxin)2Cl2 is similar to that of Ti (Oxin)Cl3.

The corrosion resistance of oxide layers produced on titanium nitride (obtained in glow-discharge nitriding) by means of electrolytic oxidation at different potentials and durations is presented in the paper. The oxidation processes were carried out in phosphoric acid (V) (25wt.%) containing Ca2+ calcium ions. Two plasma oxidation potentials of 40 V and 100 V were applied. Treatment was carried out at two different process durations, i.e. 30 minutes and 120 minutes. The impact of oxidation potential and process time on the morphology of the surface and corrosion properties of the oxide layers obtained was examined.

Several N,N-dialkyldithiocarbamates of bis(cyclopentadienyl)titanium(111) have been prepared from cp2TiCl (cp = π-cyclopentadienyl) and sodium diallryl-dithiocarbamates under inert atmosphere. The bright green air-sensitive compounds are paramagnetic with one unpaired electron per titanium atom. Their formulation as monomeric, symmetrical bidentate chelate complexes (See diagram in article) has been established from spectral, magnetic, and molecular weight data.

ABSTRACTWe report the capacitance of entangled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) synthesized on flexible carbon fabric via water-assisted chemical vapor deposition. The CNTs were grown at atmospheric pressure with iron (Fe) as the catalyst, ethylene (C2H4) and 5%/95% H2/Ar as precursor gasses, and aluminum oxide as a buffer/barrier layer. The effect of the catalyst thickness (5 and 10 nm) on the specific capacitance was studied. The capacitance behavior of CNTs was evaluated by cyclic voltammetry measurements via a three-electrode system. The highest specific capacitance, approximately 56 F/g, was obtained for electrodes with 5nm Fe thickness. A nearly rectangular shaped cyclic voltammogram was exhibited for the CNTs grown on the carbon fabric. A specific power density of 0.012 KW/Kg and specific energy density 0.15 Wh/Kg were calculated from the galvanic charge/discharge (CD) curves. In addition, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) revealed a characteristic supercapacitive behavior with a low equivalent series resistance of 7 Ωcm2.
