Undoped ZnO and Ag-doped ZnO were prepared to use as near-infrared (NIR) shielding by simple precipitation method with zinc acetate and zinc nitrate as Zn precursor and silver nitrate as Ag precursor. The Ag-doped ZnO and undoped ZnO were characterized by XRD, SEM, and UV-vis-NIR spectrophotometer. The NIR reflectance performance reveals that Ag-doping improves the NIR shielding and optical property of pure ZnO. The 10 mol% Ag loading shows the lowest reflection in the visible region of about 15% and the highest reflection in the NIR region of about 50%. It not only shows the best NIR reflection but also exhibits the best thermal insulation. It reduces the inner temperature of the in-lab setup to mimic a house by 7.5°C when compared to the uncoated glass window. It is concluded that 10 mol% Ag-doped ZnO nanoparticles can result in UV-NIR shielding coatings.

The synthesis of ZnO comprising different ratios of zinc acetate (ZA) and zinc nitrate (ZN) from the respective zinc precursor solutions was successfully completed via a simple precipitation method. Zinc oxide powders with different mole ratios of ZA/ZN were produced—80/1, 40/1, and 20/1. The crystallinity, microstructure, and optical properties of all produced ZnO powders were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometry. The average agglomerated particle sizes of ZnO-80/1, ZnO-40/1, and ZnO-20/1 were measured at 655, 640, and 620 nm, respectively, using dynamic light scattering (DLS). The optical properties of ZnO were significantly affected by the extreme ratio differences in the zinc precursors. ZnO-80/1 was found to have a unique coral-sheet structure morphology, which resulted in its superior ability to reflect near-infrared (NIR) radiation compared to ZnO-40/1 and ZnO-20/1. The NIR-shielding performances of ZnO were assessed using a thermal insulation test, where coating with ZnO-80/1 could lower the inner temperature by 5.2 °C compared with the neat glass substrate. Due to the synergistic effects on morphology, ZnO-80/1 exhibited the property of enhanced NIR shielding in curtailing the internal building temperature, which allows for its utilization as an NIR-reflective pigment coating in the construction of building envelopes.

In through concoction co-precipitation strategy using ferric nitrate, zinc nitrate and sodium hydroxide in fluid arrangements, orchestrate and portrayal of Fe doped ZnO nanoparticles were prepared in the present work. X-beam diffraction has confirmed the growth of Fe doped ZnO from the precursor. This result has revealed that nanoparticles have integrated excellent crystalline forces in nature. SEM investigations show that ZnO nanoparticles have been doped by the round and minimally agglomerated Fe. Room temperature powerless ferromagnetism, distinctive in the appealing characteristics of Fe doped ZnO powderKeywords in relation to room temperature: zinc oxide, SEM, chemical precipitation, XRD, VSM

In this work, we reported the preparation of F-doped ZnO nanoparticles by facile precipitation process using zinc nitrate and ammonium fluoride as starting precursors for Zn and F, respectively dissolved in deionized water. The precursor solution was prepared at various fluoride composition ranging from 1-5 wt%. The as-precipitated powders were calcined at different temperature from 500 °C to 700 °C for 2 h. Effect of calcination temperature and fluoride concentration on structural, morphologies, optical and electrical properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), UV-Vis spectroscopy, respectively. XRD results indicated the complete formation of hexagonal wurtzite structure of ZnO. SEM micrographs showed the agglomeration for each sample that noticeably influenced by fluoride content.

Synthesising zinc oxide nanoparticles to get certain specific characteristics to be applied in Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is still challenging to date. In this work, zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles were synthesised using the sol-gel method by dissolving zinc nitrate hexahydrate in nitric acid. The ZnO crystal and particles morphology and structure were determined using X-ray Diffractometer (XRD) and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM). In this study, a microwave oven was used for annealing ZnO without insulating a sample in any casket. The results show that 30 and 40 minutes of annealing and stirring for 1 hour influenced the morphology and size of zinc oxide particles in nanoscale. These parameters could be tailored to generate a range of nanoparticle morphology (agglomerated nanoparticles in a corn-like morphology), a crystal size with the mean size of 70.5 and 74.9 nm and a main growth at the peak [10. EOR experiment were conducted by dispersing 0.10 wt% ZnO NPs in distilled water to form a ZnO nanofluid. Then the fluid was injected into the medium in the 3rd stage of the oil recovery to present EOR stage. It was found that ZnO nanofluid has the ability to extract 8% of the original oil in place (OOIP).

In this work, pure Zinc oxide and tin doped Zinc oxide thin films nanoparticles with various volume concentrations of 2, 4, 6, and 8V/V% were prepared by using the sol-gel method. The optical properties were investigated by using UV-Visible spectroscope, and the value exhibits the direct allowed transition. The average of transmittance was around ~(17-23) %in visible region. The optical energy band gap was calculated with wavelength (300-900) nm for pure ZnO and Sn doped ZnO thin films which decreases with increasing concentration from 3.4 eV to 3.1 eV respectively and red shift. The real dielectric(εr) and the imaginary dielectric εiare the same behavior of the refractive index(n) the extinction coefficient (k) respectively. The optical limiting properties were studied by using an SDL laser with a wavelength of 235 nm. ZnO and doping thin films an found efficient as optic limiting and depend on the concentration of the all samples.
