The influence of nanodispersed complex additives (ZrO2, Al2O3, W, WC, WC-Co, NbC, Si3N4) to SHS electrode materials on the mass transfer, structure and properties of electrospark coatings has been considered dependent on variation of the energy regimes of processing. The influence of the pulse discharge energy on the structure, composition, and properties of TRESS coatings has been studied. The optimum energy regimes of depositing high-quality multifunctional graded ESA and TRESS coatings have been found. It has been shown that introduction of nanodispersed complexes into electrode materials promotes improvement of the properties of ESA coatings.

AbstractDue to its low resistivity and excellent thermal stability, IrO2 has attracted attention as an alternative for electrode material in ferroelectric integrated circuit applications. In this work, IrO2 films deposited using reactive DC magnetron sputtering were studied. Film properties such as resistivity, crystallinity and morphology were examined as a function of deposition condition. Optimum process parameters to obtain high quality IrO2 thin films are suggested.

High-quality multicomponent diffusion boride and carbide layers on steel 40Cr and 25CrMnTi cemented steel were obtained by processing from 3 to 6 hours at 950 ° C in melts. The melts contained borax and ferroalloy additives. Chrome, vanadium and titanium were alloying elements. Comparative tests of heat resistance and corrosion resistance of diffusion coatings are carried out. Samples with carbide coatings Cr + V and Cr + V + Ti had the highest heat resistance. Samples with a diffusion layer based on iron borides and alloying elements showed the best corrosion resistance during long-term tests in a 10% HCl solution.

A new method of gas nitriding is presented, which produces obtaining high-quality diffusion layers that meet the requirements of the use for various purposes, including aviation ones. Peculiar properties of highly alloyed martensitic steel nitriding after stadial thermo-gas-cyclic nitrogenization under partially dissociated ammonia with air additives have been examined. The results of metallographic studies, diagnostic leach, tests for wear resistance, impact hardness and corrosion stability, depending on the test mode are presented.

We present a facile strategy to synchronously exfoliate graphite and assemble high-quality graphene on 3D Ni(OH)2 surfaces. When serving as electrode materials for supercapacitors, the resulting 3D Ni(OH)2/graphene composites exhibited excellent specific capacitance, remarkable rate capability and super-long cycle life.

Abstract This study is designed to investigate drying kinetics, heating characteristics and energy consumption of heat pipe-impingement drying (HID) kiwifruit slices. Subsequently, color and rehydration characteristics of dried kiwifruit slices were also studied. The results showed that Modified Page model and trinomial regression equation provided appropriate fit for drying and heating curves of kiwifruit slices, respectively. In addition, the treatment for increasing drying temperatures and air velocities, and decreasing the distance between jet nozzles and material steel wire mesh box (DJM) was shown to enhance drying productivity. It was also found that low temperature, high air velocity and low DJM contributed to the processing of high-quality dried kiwifruit and the reduction of energy consumption. These results suggest that kiwifruit slices can be dried effectively with HID, and the predictive equations of heat and mass transfer could be applied to industrial design and operational guide for the HID of kiwifruit.
