Every day modern technology is radically changing various industries at ever faster paces. The modern era of innovation is accompanied by a number of inventions and know-how – from robotization of production to the introduction of artificial intelligence at state levels. An important component of the training of future specialists in vocational education is the formation of digital competency which involves the ability and ability of the logical and systemic use of digital technologies. The automotive industry is currently undergoing structural changes due to the rapid development and implementation of modern digital technologies such as programmed electric vehicles, unmanned vehicles, robotic mechanisms for controlling mechanisms, remote control and contactless operations. The purpose of the study is a theoretical justification and experimental study of the levels of digital competence formation of future specialists in the automotive industry. To achieve the goal of the study, the following methods were used: analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization, questioning. The article analyzes the features of the formation and development of digital competence of a motor transport specialist in the process of their preparation in vocational education institutions of developed countries. In the study the total number of respondents was 72 participants. The study was conducted on the basis of the results obtained in the process of questioning graduate students of the specialty "Transport" at the Professional and Pedagogical College of the Glukhov National Pedagogical University named after Alexander Dovzhenko. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the level of digital competency of future specialists in the automotive industry was established. The obtained results allow us to identify some problems in the formation and development of digital competence in the preparation of a motor transport specialist in vocational education institutions.

The automotive industry is developing continuously, trying to improve, among others, the safety of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. Using modern technology, the dangers caused by weather hazards like rain, snow, fog, or glare were identified and reduced. This paper presents an anti-glare solution using existing technologies that can be found already in a high-end car like the driver’s eyes tracking systems, light intensity sensors, or head-up displays. In addition to the existing elements, a sun tracking sensor is required to detect the point where the sun light has the maximum intensity on the windshield surface. Knowing the driver’s position and the point on the windshield where the sunlight has a high intensity, a dark spot can be created on the windshield in order to reduce the discomfort created by glare. Depending on the intensity of the light and taking into consideration the traffic safety laws, the spot’s transparency can vary between certain limits. Therefore, the dangers caused by glare will be diminished and the risks of not observing pedestrians, other traffic participants, traffic signs, or sudden curves will be considerably lower. Another advantage of using a digital sunshade based on smart glass or in-glass transparent displays, instead of a regular sunshade, is that the whole windshield can be protected against glare not just the top of it. The results were verified and highlighted using computer simulations done via a MATLAB environment.

Polychloroprene is widely used as a special-purpose rubber in such industries as automotive, construction, textile industry. Chloroprene rubber takes a significant share in the market of elastomers due to its properties. In recent years, a gradual increase in demand for chloroprene rubbers is expected. This trend is most clearly seen in regions with a developed automotive industry. World leaders in the production of chloroprene rubbers and latex demonstrate their interest in increasing production capacity. In Russia, chloroprene rubber is not produced, the demand is completely met by import. In this paper, the main industrial methods for the production of chloroprene monomer, based on various feedstocks: acetylene and butadiene-1,3, exist in the world practice. Advantages and disadvantages of each of the above methods for producing chloroprene monomer are given. Technical solutions for the improvement of the chloroprene-monomer preparation technology for the steps of chlorination of butadiene-1,3 and dehydrochlorination of 3,4-dichlorobutene-1 in a column apparatus are proposed. An improved process for the preparation of chloroprene rubber from butadiene-1,3 is described. The development of a modern technology for the production of chloroprene rubber based on domestic raw materials will make it possible to obtain a high-quality target product, which will lead to the exclusion of its imports.

The paper presents a quick survey of current informatics technologies in automotive industry. To reach a high level of safety requirement and minimize the occurrence and consequences of automobile accidents number of studies have been investigated on the prediction the crash event. These investigations are performed by both techniques: numerical and experimental and they can significantly improve crashworthiness of selected auto-parts such a bumper-beam or crash-box under impact loadings. Describe several different methods and materials to optimize the shape of these parts for maximum energy absorption. Since the crash-box is one of the most important automotive parts for crash energy absorption a fully dialed process technology of those parts was simulated using FEM and presented in this study.

Abstract The paper deals with increasing processes efficiency at a production line of cylinder heads of engines in a production company operating in the automotive industry. The goal is to achieve improvement and optimization of test processes on a production line. It analyzes options for improving capacity, availability and productivity of processes of an output test by using modern technology available on the market. We have focused on analysis of operation times before and after optimization of test processes at specific production sections. By analyzing measured results we have determined differences in time before and after improvement of the process. We have determined a coefficient of efficiency OEE and by comparing outputs we have confirmed real improvement of the process of the output test of cylinder heads.

The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the usefulness and reliability of modern warehouse technology for suppliers in the automotive industry and to identify the potential causes preventing it from being used more in practice. In recent years, we have seen great progress made in the development of modern warehouse solutions, as well as a dramatic rise in research on the issues related to the introduction of modern technology and interaction between operators and automation. However, a look at some of the existing studies on the usefulness of the use of modern technology reveals that their conclusions are often contradictory. The results of statistical analysis of Slovenian companies that operate as suppliers in the international automotive industry show that modern warehousing technology is reliable and safe to use, but more than 60% of companies fail to take advantage of its benefits. These companies are also using basic warehouse technology, despite the fact that such technology does not ensure a sense of safety in the warehouse. In the medium term, this could put them at a disadvantage against competitors in the demanding sector of the automotive industry. The results of the study provide additional starting points for understanding human use of modern warehouse technology, which can lead to improvements in how warehouse systems are designed, more effective employee training methods and a reasonable and balanced policy for the automation of the warehousing processes.

Light weight materials which possess high strength and durability are being utilized by the automotive industry to increase fuel economy. Rapidly solidified (RS) Al alloys are currently being extensively studied for this purpose. In this investigation the microstructure of an extruded Al-8Fe-2Mo alloy, produced by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Goverment Products Div. was examined in a JE0L 2000FX AEM. Both electropolished thin sections, and extraction replicas were examined to characterize this material. The consolidation procedure for producing this material included a 9:1 extrusion at 340°C followed by a 16:1 extrusion at 400°C, utilizing RS powders which have also been characterized utilizing electron microscopy.
