This study will explain the impact of China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) on logistic system of China and Pakistan. This project is estimated investment of US $90 billion, CPEC project is consists of various sub-projects including energy, road, railway and fiber optic cable but major portion will be spent on energy. This project will start from Kashgar port of china to Gwadar port of Pakistan. Transportation is sub-function of logistic that consists of 44% total cost of logistic system and 20% total cost of production of manufacturing and mainly shipping cost and transit/delivery time are critical for logistic system. According to OEC (The Observing Economic Complexity) currently, china is importing crude oil which 13.4% from Persian Gulf. CPEC will china for lead time that will be reduced from 45 days to 10 days and distance from 2500km to 1300km. This new route will help to china for less transit/deliver time and shipping cost in terms of logistic of china. Pakistan’s transportation will also improve through road, railway and fiber optic cabal projects from Karachi-Peshawar it will have speed 160km per hour and with help of pipeline between Gwadar to Nawabshah gas will be transported from Iran. According to (www.cpec.inf.com) Pakistan logistic industry will grow by US $30.77 billion in the end of 2020.

Abstract As a maritime country, Indonesia is given an abundance of marine wealth. In an effort to distribute fish from sea products, fishermen in Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung Regency collect their prey to Usaha Dagang X (UDX). UDX has 3 main ordering partners for 3 categories of seafood, namely shrimp, fish and crab. Transportation problems at UDX cause distribution costs to increase in delivery of goods to the customer. This study provides an alternative minimum cost solution that can be issued by UDX in distributing goods that are available using existing limitations. The results showed that the minimum shipping cost was IDR 5281200 where the 3 proposed methods showed the same results but had different alternative options.

Abstract Transportation problem is one of the models of Linear Programming problem. It deals with the situation in which a commodity from several sources is shipped to different destinations with the main objective to minimize the total shipping cost. There are three well-known methods namely, North West Corner Method Least Cost Method, Vogel’s Approximation Method to find the initial basic feasible solution of a transportation problem. In this paper, we present some statistical methods for finding the initial basic feasible solution. We use three statistical tools: arithmetic and harmonic mean and median. We present numerical examples, and we compare these results with other classical methods.

Numerous conventional container ports in East Asia are evolving from intercontinental into regional hub ports. This study adopted the Port of Kaohsiung as an example of competition with neighboring ports. The results of this study demonstrated that the Port of Kaohsiung is still a competitive docking port on trans-Pacific trunk routes for North America, despite facing external threats (e.g., upsizing of ships, lack of new deep-water terminals, and new strategic alliances affecting terminal operations), overall shipping cost considerations (e.g., container volume, different ship sizes, and port selection), and increasingly intense competition with neighboring ports. Under such circumstances, the Port of Kaohsiung must keep pace with container ship upsizing, sufficiently increase deep-water terminal capacity, and improve its existing container terminals’ operating efficiency to attract route deployment and larger container ships and thereby maintain its current advantages and position as a regional hub port.

To reduce transportation distance and shipping cost for rock haulage with a single-side development system, it is relevant to build roads on the spoil bank of the open-pit. The article reviews factors affecting stability of the spoil bank and the most common types of deformation. The backward calculation method for obtaining resistance to shear characteristics of the base rocks in contact with a road embankment has been described. Schemes for road constructions on the spoil bank of the open-pit have been considered. Mining and geometric simulation of the road base has been built. Zoning of the road base as per slope angle of the underlying rock and parameters of the haulage berm allow tracing rapidly axis of the technological and engineering roads for actual engineering and geological conditions. Besides, measures to reduce risk factors of landslides during construction of the haulage berm at deposit ledger-wall have been considered.

This study evaluates the utilization of domestic coal-based dimethyl ether (DME) to substitute 15% of the total household sector demand of LPG import projected to year 2040 and the impact to the saving of state budget. Maximum LPG-DME blending in this study is 85% - 15% weight. DME-LPG mixture price at depot will be calculated based on DME FOB price at production plant, shipping cost, mixing and handling cost. The result of the research shows that DME-LPG mixture price and the import LPG price at each depot are 391 USD/MT and 620 USD/MT at Depot Tanjung Priok, 390 USD/MT and 620 USD/MT at Depot Eretan, 396 USD/MT and 622 USD/MT at Depot Tanjung Perak, 397 USD/MT and 622 USD/MT at Depot Gresik, and 401 USD/MT and 624 USD/MT at Depot Semarang. The substitution of LPG import with domestic coal-based DME results the saving of state budget about 388 million USD (IDR 5,332 billion). It concludes that the utilization of domestic coal-based DME is economically feasible to reduce the import of LPG per metric ton (MT), obtain the saving for state budget, and help the government to decrease the dependency of import LPG to maintain the national energy security.

The paper dose research about the optimization of container shipping of sea –carriage for meeting the goods transport requirement by use of integer programming. Both laden and empty containers are combined into a system. In particular, the effect of special laden container shipping capacity on the shipping plan is investigated. In the model, the objective function is to maximize the total profit of container shipping. The profit caused by laden container shipping minus the cost caused by both laden and empty container shipping equal to the total profit. The constraints to the model include meeting the need of both laden and empty containers, shipping limit to both common and special laden containers , the number of empty container supported. Lingo9.0 is used to solve the model and shipping methods in varied parameters are shown by simulation. The aim of the paper is to provide a reasonable plan of container shipping of sea-carriage, so the container shipping cost of a shipping company can be reduced and the its profit made by container shipping are maximized.

The paper dose research about the optimization of container shipping of sea carriage for meeting the goods transport requirement by use of stochastic programming. The constraints to the model include meeting the need of both laden and empty containers, shipping limit to both common and special laden containers, the number of empty container supported. The number of empty containers is stochastic and the model is transmitted to an integer programming.
