Firms that clearly understand their mandate are more easily able to understand their customers and hence are in a better position to create products that correctly fit in with the market needs and withstand competition. Most firms in the same industry operate under similar environments, however, the ability of a firm to understand its surroundings and take up the opportunities around it and at the same time minimize its threats within certain acceptable time limits, brings out to a large extent the difference between performance of one firm and the other in a similar industry.  This study was anchored on the competitive theory as advanced by Michael Porter. A descriptive approach was used by explaining the data and characteristics of the population being studied.  The study targeted a total of 64 respondents. This study did not sample the tier two commercial banks because they are few and hence a census was adopted. A pilot test on 8 employees was consequently carried out before this study. The respondents agreed that tier two banks strive to be competitive in the market and employees are encouraged to implement new ideas. The study concluded that absorptive capability has a significant contribution to performance of tier two banks. The study also recommended that banks should enhance customer retention to build their customer base.

The COVID-19 pandemic associated with health fear has severely affected Malaysia’s tourism industry. The domestic tourism segment is expected to have a speedier recovery than international tourism due to travel restrictions. Accordingly, the principles of Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) and the government's role were utilised in investigating the Millennial’s domestic travel intention in this study. This study is a preliminary investigation in nature. It involves responses from the first 60 participants of the fieldwork being carried out for the actual research. The gathered data were analysed using the structural equation modelling (SEM) technique with SmartPLS software. The findings showed that Millennial’s Perceived Self Efficacy and (through) Government Intervention have a significant relationship with their domestic travel intention post-pandemic. The topic of leadership comes with many elements of situational scenarios, one particular of interest is during times of natural crisis. Natural crisis affects businesses and people worldwide with varying effects. It is notable that leadership styles and other factors can lead a business either to success or failure based on their proactivity. To explore the area of leadership studies in times of natural crises, a systematic literature review was undertaken. The review of studies from past fifteen years revealed that there were a lot of studies on the topic of leadership. Out of those, only 34 articles published from 2005 to 2020 were found relevant to the topic under study. These were presented in the form of a systematic literature review of “Leadership in Times of Natural Crises”. The systematic literature review was done using PRISMA framework which is the most widely known method of conducting review. The main link between these articles, although each focusing on different areas of research, was the relationship between leadership styles and impact on organizational management during natural crises. The review of the 34 articles from Scopus database explored different leadership styles and theories with their impact on organizations. The resources grew substantially in relation to COVID-19 in 2020, which also highlights the importance of this topic as there were limited resources available in the last twenty years when exploring papers that studied the impact of leadership impact during SARS outbreak in 2003. The finding of this article highlights the gap in research on leadership studies, and particularly in relation to pandemics, or for a broader term, natural crises.
