The study focuses on the Socio-Cultural History and the Econo- Political Development of the Minority Society: The Case of Benishangul Gumuz(1991-2018).The Gumuz of Matakal are renowned for their traditional socio-cultural history, economic and political developments since their arrival to Matakal. They have developed wonderful conflict management strategies and institutions that play important role in harmonizing their relations with the neighboring “ethnic” group, such as the Shinasha, Amhara, Agaw and Oromo. The conflicts differ in their causes, nature, intensity, frequency; yet the peculiarities are often glossed over and depicted as typical inter-ethnic conflicts between the highlanders or “settlers” on one side and the “indigenous “people on the other. Nonetheless, this approach not only risks a presupposition of ethnic groups as cohesive and binding entities but fails to explore the role of Gumuz initiation rituals, rite of passage, discourses of violence and other major socio-cultural events in inspiring and articulating them. So far, there exists no single comprehensive study, in its own right, that tries to map out the nexus between Gumuz perceptions, symbolism, representation and discourses of violence and outbreak of intermittent conflict in the region in time and space (1991-2018). The related literature will be systematically reviewed and relevant information gathered. Furthermore, in-depth interviews will be conducted, with elders from the highlanders, particularly from Amhara, Agaw, Shinasha, Oromo ethnic groups and the Gumuz. The data collected through these methods will be carefully examined, cross-checked, interpreted and analyzed to determine whether there will be any correlation or connection between the Gumuz, discourses of violence and outbreak of conflicts in the study area.

In the course of her duties, the ward sister has to contend with many forms of conflict, discord and dissension. These involve conflict of the intrapersonal, interpersonal and intergroup varieties. Conflict is in the main, disruptive and dysfunctional. Skilful management, however, embodying cooperative effort in its reduction can produce constructive and positive results. Conflict management strategies are therefore either restrictive or constructive. Persons in serious conflict suffer varied degrees of personality disequilibrium, which necessitates emotional first aid or crisis intervention. Such primary preventive care is applicable to patients, their relatives, and members of the nursing staff in such need.

Conflict Management is one of the essential elements in casual and professional life for enhancing an individual's performance and to bring better results in intense organizational pressures. Although studies which explore the effect of these on job satisfaction are very few and therefore there is a need to check the impact of these form of strategies on job satisfaction. Although according to the studies each and every style of conflict management does not relate to job satisfaction and therefore the major need to associate this style with organizational performance. Thus, a quantitative study has been conducted in the commercial banking sector of Pakistan through a closed-ended questionnaire. Analysis was carried out through the help of statistical data analysis software SMART-PLS and the results of the study indicated that each and every style of conflict management does not result in job satisfaction, nor in the betterment of organizational performance. The results imply that a more rigorous approach and innovative strategies in conflict management should be devised and followed by the managers to address the conflicting issues.

The article is devoted to analyzing the Kherson Jewish community in the middle of the XIX century. The presentation is based on a comprehensive study of the two-volume work of Alexander Schmidt, "Materials for Geography and Statistics of Russia. Kherson province". Source criticism shows that the work contains a significant amount of reliable information on the history of individual ethnic groups of Kherson in the mid-nineteenth century, which allows us to consider it as a reliable historical source.The primary attention author pays to the issues of the demographic and social structure of the Jewish community. The number, sex component, population movement, social status were analyzed. The role of Jews in the city’s economy, especially in the functioning of a market economy, is highlighted. The article shows the peculiarities of the culture and way of life of the Kherson Jews, their interaction and relations with other ethnic groups.The author proves that the XIX century was the time of the highest rise, the acme in the history of the Jewish community of Kherson, and the Jews significantly determined the city’s face. Their number grew faster than other ethnic groups, they predominated among the wealthiest Kherson citizens, and their business activities contributed to the progress of Kherson.Key words: Kherson, the Jewish community, A. Schmidt, the interaction of ethnic groups. Стаття присвячена аналізу єврейської громади Херсона середини ХІХ ст. Виклад базується на комплексному дослідженні двотомної праці Олександра Шміта «Материалы для географии и статистики России. Херсонская губерния». Джерелознавча критика свідчить, що праця містить значний обсяг достовірної інформації з історії окремих етносів населення Херсона серед-ини ХІХ ст., що дозволяє розглядати її як надійне історичне джерело.Головну увагу приділено питанням демографічної та соціальної структури єврейської громади. Проаналізовано чисельність, статеву складову, природний і механічних рух населення, соціально-становий статус. Висвітлено роль євреїв в економіці міста, передусім у функціонуванні ринкового господарства. Показано особливості культури та побуту євреїв Херсона, їх взаємодія і стосунки з іншими етнічними групами.Доведено, що саме ХІХ ст. стало часом найвищого піднесення в історії єврейської громади Херсона, причому євреї у значній мірі визначали обличчя міста. Їхня чисельність зростала випереджаючими темпами порівняно з іншими етнічними групами, вони переважали серед найзаможнішого прошарку херсонців, а їхня діяльність у сфері бізнесу сприяла поступу Херсона. Nepal, despite being small in size, is a country with geographical and cultural diversities. The social system or structure of Nepal is based on the unity in diversity that integrates various caste, ethnic, religious, linguistic, and cultural groups. According to 2001 census, 102 types of caste/indigenous ethnic groups dwell in Nepal and 92 mother languages are spoken (C.B.S, 2002 :28-33). A comprehensive study about all the caste and indigenous ethnic groups dwelling in Nepal has not been conducted yet from the sociological and anthropological perspectives. Even today some minority ethnic groups are about to be extinct. Some even do not have the knowledge of their own cultural history. The study examined the roles and causes of leadership crisis and management strategies adopted in the attempt to resolve conflicts involving students, lecturers, and non-academic staff versus vice-chancellors in Nigeria higher institutions with particular reference to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. Two basic methods of primary are adopted here, viz, questionnaire and personal interview. The questionnaire was essentially utilized to assess the leadership role of vice-chancellor in conflict management. This becomes useful when one considers the fact management of conflict resolution is always focussed around the person and office of the incumbent vice-chancellor in most universities. The interview method allows for face-to-face analysis of events thereby making it possible for clarification on controversial issues. In this way, one is opportune to ask further questions germane and relevant to this study. Data derived from the secondary sources include data already provided by original investigators. In this study, the secondary data sources include books on university administration, conflict and conflict management, governance, and other relevant books and journals. Others are published and unpublished articles, official documents, dissertations, magazines, and publications. Two former vice-chancellors were examined as regards the problem of perennial crisis in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Respondents were asked to rate the two former vice-chancellors using their organizational competence, leadership style and positive relation with staff and students as rating criteria. The questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive analysis such as scores and percentage. The study discovered evidences of mismanagement of conflict which made most conflicts in the universities violent. It observed that most conflicts in Nigerian universities might have been averted if the leadership in Nigerian universities could be more democratic, sensitive, and flexible in conflict periods. The study concluded that the welfare of staff and students should be given more attention if perennial conflicts with school authority are to be overcome in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

The transmigration program forms Lampung society to be multicultural that easily triggers the emergence of ethnic conflicts. In Lampung, it has unexpectedly formed enclaves that cause migrants and local people to not be integrated so that there is polarization and an economic gap between migrants and local people. This is because the economy of migrants advances which causes social jealousy. This study aimed to explain muakhi as conflict management from pre-conflict to post-conflict. This study was qualitative research with phenomenology and multiple case approaches. The research data were obtained by in-depth interviews. The results of this study are first, muakhi in pre-conflict management is managed by the traditional leaders to conduct deliberation and agreement. Second, muakhi in post-conflict management is managed and controlled by all elements of the community. The village officers, traditional leaders, religious leaders, community leaders, or mass organizations remind each other by means of cooperation with the conflicting parties. This study concluded that muakhi is able to create social and media integration and a forum for creating peace in accordance with the values and norms in the lives of the community.
