The article proposes to expand the noosphere issue to include system-wide and applied aspects of joint functioning and development of global social and computer environments. A general approach to the problems of sustainable development is shown, taking into account the inner laws of development of the GCE and their system-wide impact on natural sociotechnology processes. The article brings the concepts of natural and artificial information universality to the level of key system-forming categories. This aspect opens up new opportunities for in-depth study of general patterns of natural and artificial evolutionary processes development.

Education for sustainable development (ESD) enjoys a huge momentum worldwide in which the role of teachers for making sustainable development goals a reality has been recognized significantly. Teachers through their knowledge, attitudes and skills can bring the learning about these concepts to the curriculum and class room interaction and are in a position to influence their students. Therefore it is pertinent, that teachers are sensitised towards these issues, so that they prepare and nurture their students for making appropriate and responsible choices which contribute to a sustainable future. At this juncture it becomes crucial to understand their priorities and awareness level in context of the sustainable development. The present research paper aims to analyse the perception of forty post graduate pre-service teachers of the Chandigarh region, towards ESD through the dimensions of economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, social sustainability and cultural sustainability. For this researchers have adopted qualitative content analysis methodology for an in-depth study of the subjective responses through an open ended question. The findings suggest that most of the respondents associated the perception of ESD strongly with environmental sustainability. It is noted that the pre-service teachers lack a holistic approach towards ESD. On the basis of the findings it is recommended that there is an urgent need of integrating the concept of ESD consciously and conscientiously in India’s teacher education programmes.

The increasingly stellar attraction of the digital technologies and the growing, though not universal, consensus of the need to build a sustainable future, are two powerful trends within society. The aim of this article is to offer an exploratory review of how the leading companies within the digital transformation market have addressed sustainable development. As such, the article’s originality and value lie in offering a review of current corporate thinking within that market. The study adopts an inductive, qualitative approach based on an examination of published company reports, and identifies six major sustainability themes being actively promoted and supported. The article concludes that the current sustainability objectives of the technology companies are driven as much by commercial reality as any altruistic motives, and that support and promotion of the circular economy may offer the best opportunity for digital technologies to meaningfully impact sustainable development.

The article is devoted to the development of the national financial market and ensuring its stability on the basis of digital transformation. Subject of research: digitalization of the financial market. The aim of the study is to study the theoretical foundations of the financial market and determine the priorities of its development based on the digitalization of services to ensure sustainable development in the medium term. Method of research. in the process of writing, the authors used such methods as analysis, grouping, comparison, and synthesis. Results: 1. The features of digitalization of services provided in the national financial market are disclosed. 2. The mechanism of interaction of the main participants in the digital financial assets market is presented and their characteristics are given. 3. Measures for digital transformation of the national financial services market are proposed, taking into account the current situation in the national economy. Scientific novelty: the mechanism of interaction of the main participants in the digital financial services market was determined, measures for the digital transformation of the financial services market were proposed.

The seven papers published in this edition of Ushus have a wide ranging scope by various academicians, professionals and researchers with varying areas of interest. The first paper is on the 'Health Care System in Goa: Analysis of Role in Sustainable Development' by Anna Rovina Ferrao e Fernandes. It offers an in-depth study of a unique approach of Health Care in aiding sustainable development. The second paper by Triveni S. and Vijayalaxmi A. Amminabhavi is 'A Study of Quality of Work Life of Nationalised and Non Nationalised Bank Employees'. It is relevant and contemporary as it highlights the shifted focus of work-life balance and issues relating to job satisfaction. Rev. S. Peter, K.J. Raman and R Ravilochanan have drafted a detailed analysis of 'The Role of Non-governmental Organisations in Minimising School Dropouts'. Further, A. Abdulraheem and A. Raman's study of the 'Descriptive Model of Community Participation: Delivering Urban Service' is extremely exhausting in terms of coverage. Given the same, both these papers tackle new-age issues in a rapidly changing socio-economy driven by concerns from the local to the global level and influenced by numerous factors of modernisation. 'Dynamics of Rupee Convertibility' by V.K. Xavier and 'Employee Attitude Surveys: A Powerful Tool for Enhancing Organisational Effectiveness' by Rashmi Nakra deal with conventional subjects of study in the domain of International Finance/Forex and statistical value in managerial decision making. The last paper by P.A. Mathew deals with 'Diaspora to Transnational Networks: The Case of Chinese Diaspora in the Mainland China'. It stands out as a subject of modern interest given the role of diaspora in third world and developed economies, especially the Asian continent.

Purpose – This paper aims to demonstrate how sustainable development education can be implemented at business schools, despite institutional barriers, through innovative and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Businesses are beginning to accept their social responsibility through proactive approaches to maximizing their net social contribution, embracing opportunities and managing risks resulting from their economic, environmental and social impacts. Yet, many business schools are lagging in integration of sustainability into their curriculum, and as a result are not adequately educating future business leaders. Design/methodology/approach – This case study presents the challenges in developing and implementing sustainability education, as well as analyzes the various underlying drivers of these barriers. The paper provides a detailed description of some of the ways one business school has overcome these barriers, and provides generalizable insights that can help other business schools and universities understand how they can engage in the implementation of similar sustainable development programs. Findings – As business educators, we should reevaluate our role and our focus. Through education, interdisciplinary collaboration, research and community and industry engagement, sustainability can become firmly established within the existing value structure of business schools. Originality/value – While many business schools worldwide are discussing the importance of integrating sustainability into their curricula, and while employers and students are demanding the same, few business schools have genuinely made progress in meeting these demands. This paper presents both the challenges to integrating sustainability and an in-depth study of one business school’s approach to creating unique and innovative solutions to overcome these barriers.
