The research on organizational justice (OJ) by and large focuses on OJ dimensions and their impact on employees’ attitude and behaviour. However, some researchers suggest an equal focus on the concept of overall justice. The objective of this paper is to determine the level of prevalence of OJ dimensions within private sector universities of Pakistan, and to evaluate whether overall justice mediates between OJ dimensions and OC. Kenny’s contemporary approach to mediation was used to test the mediating effect of overall justice. Our results reflect that with the exception of distributive justice, remaining three dimensions prevails within private sector universities. Similarly, there is no direct relationship between OJ dimensions and OC, rather, this relationship is best explained by incorporating overall justice in the model.

The purpose of the present paper was to analyse the relationship between perceived organizational justice and organizational commitment on IT sector (India). The research was conducted on 90 employees working in IT sector. A Correlation design was deployed to analyse the data. The three dimensions of organizational justice- procedural, distributive and interactional were positively correlated with organizational commitment wherein distributive justice contributed the most to commitment.

Purpose- The primary purpose of the study is to determine the impact of organizational justice (OJ) on employee sustainability. Along with that, it also describes how organizational commitment mediates this direct relationship. This study includes all dimensions of OJ which are distributive, procedural and interactional (interpersonal & informational) within the context of a developing country (Pakistan). Design/Methodology- This study has considered employees working in the banking sector of Pakistan. Two hundred ten questionnaires were received back from employees. Regression analysis was used to analyze direct relationships between variables, while smart partial least squares (PLS) were used for mediation analysis. Findings- Results demonstrated that all hypothesis were accepted and it was also confirmed that organizational commitment (OC) mediates the direct relationship between OJ and employee sustainability (ES). Originality/value- Multidimensional construct of organizational justice was tested in this study, in the context of a developing country (Pakistan), to address the research gap.

This paper investigates the relationship between organizational justice and organizational commitment among the employees of different organizations from Kathmandu Valley. This research study analyzes the impact of organizational justice as encompassed by two components, namely distributive justice and procedural justice on employee’s commitment. This study is descriptive and analytical. The sample consists of managerial and non-managerial employees who have volunteered to participate in the study. This study reveals a positive and significant relationship showing that the foundation of an employee’s commitment is within the application of both distributive and procedural justice, with procedural justice having stronger effect. The findings in this study would offer insight to the managers and business organization in Nepal to formulate strategies that involve in work factors such as distributive and procedural justice for the improvement of the human resource development.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of organizational justice on turnover-intention via the mediating influences of organizational commitment and job satisfaction. In addition, the study aims at incorporating all four facets of organizational justice (procedural, distributive, interpersonal and informational) in an attempt to test the model in a developing country context. Design/methodology/approach The study targeted employees in the airline industry working for airline companies currently operating in Jordan. A count of 323 questionnaires were directly distributed and completed and returned by employees yielding a response rate of 81 percent. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses. Findings The results led to the acceptance of all hypotheses. Most importantly, it was confirmed that both organizational commitment and job satisfaction had a mediating effect on the relationship between organizational justice and turnover-intention. While job satisfaction fully mediated the relationship, organizational commitment only had a partially mediating effect. Originality/value The study took a step beyond the simple linear models typically used in the literature by proposing a more complex one that investigated the mediating role of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Moreover, the researchers applied this model to a developing country setting in order to bridge the research gap.

The first purpose of this study was to examine the effect of continuous learning activity on organizational commitment and work engagement. The second purpose was to testify the mediating effect of self-perceived employability in the relationship between continuous learning activity and organizational commitment/work engagement. The third purpose was to examine the moderating effect of informal networking of employees in the relationship between continuous learning activity and self-perceived employability. The fourth purpose was to examine the moderating effect of distributive justice in the relationship between self-perceived employability and organizational commitment, and the final purpose was to testify the moderating effect of growth needs in the relationship between self-perceived employability and work engagement. Data were gathered from 264 employee who were working in various organizations in Korea. As results, continuous learning activity had positive relationships with organizational commitment and work engagement. Self-perceived employability had mediation effect in the relationship between continuous learning activity and organizational commitment/work engagement. Informal networking of employees had moderating effect in the relationship continuous learning activity and self-perceived employability because the relationship was more positive when informal networking of employees was high than low. Distributive justice had moderating effect in the relationship self-perceived employability and organizational commitment because the relationship was more positive when distributive justice was high than low. Also growth needs had moderating effect in the relationship self-perceived employability and work engagement because the relationship was more positive when growth needs was high than low. The implications for research and practice, limitations, and future research tasks were discussed.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between supervisor’s overall justice and affective organizational commitment. The authors further study how this relationship is moderated by subordinates’ overall justice.Design/methodology/approachThe authors conducted hierarchical regression analyses on a sample of supervisor–subordinate matched data.FindingsSupervisors’ overall justice was positively related to supervisors’ affective organizational commitment, and subordinates’ overall justice moderated these relationships.Research limitations/implicationsThe main limitation of the study was its cross-sectional nature.Practical implicationsResults emphasized the importance of the interaction between supervisors’ and subordinates’ perceived overall justice, which suggests that employers should focus on treating all individuals fairly in the workplace.Originality/valueThe study contributes to the organizational justice literature by providing empirical evidence using a supervisor–subordinate matched sample, suggesting that overall justice is important to understanding individuals’ affective organizational commitment. Using fairness heuristic theory, the study explores the interaction effect of subordinates’ overall justice on the relationship between supervisors’ overall justice and affective organizational commitment.

Correctional staff are a necessary and valuable resource for correctional institutions, in both Western and Nonwestern nations; however, studies of correctional staff in Nonwestern nations, particularly those in Africa, are lacking. Improving the job satisfaction and organizational commitment of these staff are imperative, as both of these job attitudes have been linked to many salient beneficial outcomes. Most of the existing empirical research on correctional staff organizational justice explores only the effects of procedural and distributive justice and ignores interpersonal justice. Additionally, there has been little research on how procedural, distributive, and interpersonal justice affect correctional staff in Nonwestern correctional organizations. The current study explored the effects of all three forms of organizational justice on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment of staff at a medium security prison in southeast Nigeria. Based on Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression, all three forms of justice had significant positive effects on commitment. Procedural and interpersonal justice had positive effects on job satisfaction, while distributive justice had nonsignificant effects. Correctional administrators need to be aware the importance of procedural, distributive, and interpersonal justice and attempt to improve perceptions of these organizational justice variables.

While many analysts have directed few investigations on the influence of ethical leadership on the behavior of citizenship, in different contexts, however, not much is known about the moral components make it possible to produce follow-up findings as Organizational Citizenship Behavior(OCBs) for leaders, especially, Interpersonal OCBs (OCBI). For this, we suggested a hypothetical structure, thereby adapting Zoghbi-Manrique-de-Lara and Viera-Armas (2019) model to include Organizational Justice. Therefore, we intend to study the association of Ethical Leadership with OCBI empirically while in the view of various determining factors of Workplace Compassion (i.e. empathic concern, common humanity, mindfulness, and kindness), and Organizational Justice (i.e. procedural justice, distributive justice, and interactional justice) as mediating variables. Empirical validity was recognized; by directing a review utilizing a standardized close-ended questionnaire. Using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structured Equation Modeling (SEM), information was collected from 350 employees and investigated. Both direct and indirect effect was tested; by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) via SmartPLS software. Thus, the results revealed that: except for Common Humanity, ethical leadership remained significantly and positively connected with all factors of Workplace Compassion (Empathic Concern, Mindfulness, and Kindness), as well as with all three-factor of Organizational Justice (Procedural Justice, Distributive Justice, and Interactional Justice. However, ethical leadership seems to hurt the Mindfulness factor. Also, among compassion determinants, only Empathic Concern seems to affect OCBI. Whereas only interactional justice has a significant positive association with OCBI; further, the findings revealed that there is an insignificant mediating effect of workplace compassion and organizational justice in the ethical leadership relationship with OCBI. Hence, the investigation has portrayed significant ramifications for the organizations.

On various occasions, it has been suggested that the perception of Organizational Justice plays a significant role in determining organizational commitment. We reviewed more than hundred researches on Organizational justice to analyze how it enhances organizational commitment in work place. Our research indicates that most recent studies have suggested three major forms of Organizational Justice namely Procedural, Interactional and Distributive Justice and how these forms of organizational justice impact organizational commitment in various sectors. The objective of our article is to provide an overview of literature available in organizational justice and organizational commitment. More specifically this article: (a) provides a concise description of various enhancers and inhibitors of organizational commitment (b) provides a single platform for studies done on organizational justice and its impact on organizational commitment. (c) Suggests implications of our findings and future scope of research.
