Background: Non-immune hydrops (NIH) associated with bronchopulmonary sequestration (BPS) is quite rare with a 95% risk of intrauterine fetal death, without a fetal intervention. Case Presentation: We describe a case of an antenatally diagnosed extralobar BPS with severe NIH, who underwent fetal thoracentesis, but had worsening of NIH requiring an emergency cesarean section. Postnatally, the baby required skillful intensive care management and timely surgical management in the form of a sequestrectomy. Conclusion: We report the smallest neonate with antenatally diagnosed NIH complicating BPS treated successfully by early neonatal surgery.

Abstract Objectives The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has rapidly spread since its emergence in December 2019, and has been associated with severe morbidity and mortality. This report includes an in-depth discussion on the unique challenges that the obstetrical population provides when considering optimal management strategy. Case presentation We describe our approach to a preterm patient with high clinical suspicion for COVID-19 whose condition turned critical in the postpartum state. Conclusions Differences in physiology during pregnancy, and goals for reducing both maternal and fetal risks, provide challenges when considering intensive care management, delivery timing, and method of delivery.

Intensive care management can be provided in a small animal facility by centralisation of emergency and monitoring equipment. Good communication between all personnel involved in the case ensures that staff are prepared for complications that could arise related to recovery from anaesthesia.

The epidemiology and prevention of drug overdosage in children is discussed. The emergency treatment of acute drug overdosage is outlined together with aspects of the intensive care management in relation to conscious state, convulsions, respiratory failure, circulatory failure and arrhythmias with some emphasis on tricyclic antidepressants.

Abstract Background We report a case in which a list of high-risk pregnant women on cloud-based business communication tools was useful in formulating an anesthetic plan for unscheduled cesarean section. Case presentation A 37-year-old woman, who had been prescribed icosapentate for hypertriglyceridemia, received an antenatal anesthetic evaluation for possible cesarean delivery, and it was agreed that the anesthetic method for emergency cesarean section was general anesthesia if the surgery would take place within 7 days after the discontinuation of the drug, and regional anesthesia if it would take place any time later. Then this agreement was uploaded on the cloud-based business communication tools, and updated until she delivered her baby via unscheduled cesarean section. Conclusions A cloud-based business communication tools was useful in formulating an anesthesia plan for a patient undergoing a cesarean delivery. However, more discussion would be needed to utilize it in security.
