Rapid Transformation

The Coronavirus epidemic in Kosovo is having consequences in all spheres of life. This reflection is especially noticeable in teaching and learning, especially at the university level, moving from the classical (traditional) form of teaching fully or partially to e-learning. The necessity of such a rapid transformation and the need to achieve the objectives of studies are being assessed by students in different ways. The subject of this research is how students evaluate this rapid transformation from traditional teaching and learning to e-learning, which was conducted in December 2020. 551 Kosovar Bachelor and Master students participated in the research. The research was done through a survey. The analysis of the results, their comparison leads us to the conclusions and recommendations, information which could serve the university institutions and state decision-making structures for the orientation of educational policies in a new era of digitalization, where e-learning is becoming a necessity even in developing countries. Where work enables us to understand that developments in the field of education, imposed by the epidemic, will be one of the forms of teaching and learning in the future and that for this we must all prepare as individuals and as a society in general.

The Impact

E-learning scholars have long predicted the conversion of conventional education to online learning spaces. That conversion has now happened. Regardless of what occurs in a post-pandemic era, teaching and learning will never be the same. Where does that leave teacher educators (TEs) who grapple with how to best prepare future teachers for the new era? The aim of our research was to determine the impact of supporting a small group of Chilean TEs in re-designing their online instructional approaches by aligning them with contemporary learning theories and goals. In the Chilean context, prior to the pandemic, e-learning was still on the periphery, and transitions from teacher-directed approaches had only just begun. In this 10-month qualitative inquiry, we focused on the TEs experiences online as they adopted sociocultural-based, 21st century instructional designs, and implemented strategies intended to promote agency and engagement in their students. The TEs long-held teacher-centric identities and approaches sometimes interfered in this trajectory. Yet, their heightened critical awareness of the ineffectiveness of traditional teaching paradigms in online settings combined with their grounded efforts and perseverance, resulted in positive evidence of ‘real’change to their designs, practices and identities – changes many have been seeking in educational systems for some time.

ResumenSe presenta una investigación sobre escritura en la asignatura Pasantía Empresarial de la carrera de Administración de Empresa que se imparte en modalidad virtual. Se exponen los fundamentos teóricos sobre los que se sustentó el proyecto, la implementación de varias estrategias de escritura y los resultados alcanzados. Este estudio puede aportar a los docentes interesados en mejorar el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje de sus contenidos disciplinares a través de la escritura en el nivel superior. AbstractThis article presents a research study on students’ writing processes in the subject of Business Internship taught in virtual mode. The theoretical foundations on which the project was based, the implementation of various writing strategies and the results achieved are discussed. This study can help teachers interested in improving the teaching and learning of their subjects content through the writing process at the university level.

<p>Learning in higher education is inseparable from the role of lecturers in preparing learning, one of which is by preparing learning media that can help and guide students in understanding the material. One of the software that can be developed as a media in mathematics learning is MATLAB. This descriptive research used the integration of MATLAB in teaching and learning linear programming. The subject of this research were students in mathematics education class 2016B Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. Data were collected by observation and questionnaire. From the data, can be concluded that by utilizing MATLAB on Linear Programming, students were able to use the MATLAB in understanding and solving Linear Programming problems. Students also gave positive responses toward the integration of MATLAB in linear programming teaching and learning.</p>

Electronic learning or online learning is a part of recent education which is dramatically used in universities all over the world. As well as the use and integration of e-learning is at the crucial stage in all developing countries. It is the most significant part of education that enhances and improves the educational system. This paper is to examine the hindrances that influence e-learning in Nigerian university system. In order to have an inclusive research, a case study research was performed in Evangel University, Akaeze, southeast of Nigeria. The paper demonstrates similar hindrances on country side. This research is a blend of questionnaires and interviews, the questionnaires was distributed to lecturers and an interview was conducted with management and information technology unit. Research had shown the use of e-learning in university education which has influenced effectively and efficiently the education system and that the University education in Nigeria is at the crucial stage of e-learning. Hence, some of the hindrances are avoiding unbeaten integration of e-learning. The aim of this research is to unravel the barriers that impede the integration of e-learning in universities in Nigeria. Nevertheless, e-learning has modified the teaching and learning approach but integration is faced with many challenges in Nigerian University.

It influenced the internalization of Islamic Educationvalues to students. According to the above background, contextual approach was assumed to create amore meaningful and effective teaching and learning process. The study revealed that most teachersdeveloped instructional material merely based on Teacher Association for Islamic EducationReference, a discrepancy between lesson plan and the implementation was found due to insufficienttime and too-much material, and a problem in applying various methods was found due to student’sbasic competence diversity ranging from the 75-80% to 20-25% mastery creating less conduciveatmosphere for effective teaching and learning process. Today, education is influenced by many factors. Educational institutions face budget cuts, outdated information technology, data security management, and a push to integrate distance learning. Virtualization technologies offer innovative solutions to the problems that arise in this direction. In particular, the extensive use of virtualization in implementing remote and traditional teaching with the use of various e-learning materials, digital learning resources, educational portals, websites, cloud-based technologies. The article presents the directions of the organization of the original educational infrastructure with the use of virtualization technologies implemented by the university in the educational process. This infrastructure provides students and university staff with access to virtual workstations and applications over the Internet, both for working in computer labs at the university and for extracurricular work. Virtualization technologies that characterize the infrastructure functions are presented, which reflect the advantages of this direction, and the final results of research experiments conducted to identify infrastructure problems are presented.

Many colleges and universities in Vietnam have employed e-learning platforms in teaching English with the hope to better students’ English proficiency. Recently, e-learning programs such as DNTU-LMS and Canvas have been implemented at Dong Nai Technology University. With their features of flexibility and efficiency, they have been being used as crucial tools for teaching and learning in various faculties in the university especially during the widespread of Covid-19 pandemic. The present study aimed at identifying the views of the EFL learners from Faculty of Foreign Languages on the application of e-learning platform. A group of 100 EFL students was chosen randomly to participate in this study. Data was collected using questionnaire. After analyzing student’s responses, the results proved that the introduction of e-learning was effective. E-learning also stimulates students to learn English and brings them comfort and joy.

The paper deals with the observation of the specifics of online teaching of lexicology and syntax of the Serbian language at the Faculty of Philology of students studying a foreign language. The aim is to notice possibilities of realization of online teaching. The research was conducted on the basis of the implementation of the teaching process in the subject Serbian language 2 (lexicology and syntax) and a survey of students on the advantages and disadvantages of online teaching. The analysis showed that online teaching provides shortcomings in the form of insufficient time for the teacher to deal in more detail with student ambiguities, but also provides numerous opportunities for progress in education – mostly in terms of student time organization and uninterrupted questioning, which is not always the case. Based on the obtained results, we will try to give methodological implications for teaching practice, which concern the possibility of improving online teaching of the Serbian language at the university level.

Aim And Objective: The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has caused an unprecedented disruption in medical education and healthcare systems worldwide. In India, responses to the COVID-19 pandemic in medical education resulted in closures of medical colleges and adoption of online teaching-learning methods, which is challenging for both faculty and students. Rising concerns among students urged to evaluate strength and weakness of ongoing online teaching and learning methods. The objective of the study was to nd out the perceptions of students regarding E-learning during lockdown period of COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A descriptive cross sectional study was conducted at IPGME & R Kolkata. A sample size of 600 was calculated. MBBS students of all levels participated in this study. A Google questionnaire was developed and was validated by Medical education unit of the college. The Google questionnaire was mailed to the students. The data was transferred to excel sheet and analysis was done on various parameters to derive descriptive statistics between classroom teaching and online teaching Results: Total 600responses were received. 340 (56.7%) males and 260(43.3%) females participated in the study. 41.7% students use mobile phones as their gadgets for E- learning and 33.3% use laptops followed by desktop (16.7%) and tablet (8.3%) Overall only 10 % students preferred to use only E- learning. 50% students preferred classical didactic learning. And 40% preferred a combination of classical ofine and E - learning as useful method of learning. Conclusions: Students did not prefer E- learning over classroom learning. They admit the usefulness of E -learning. But, classroom learning with rational use of E -learning is preferred by the students.

Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) can be slow in responding to technological innovation. Streaming technology offers a competitive advantage to a HEI if appropriately adopted and integrated with the marketing strategy compared to the Push-Pull strategy: when all available technological innovation is used to push educational options to the market and the potential people pull from the market. This chapter briefly describes the concepts of e-learning and media streaming, and their relationship to HEIs. The intangible business benefits of using media streaming to enhance teaching and learning in HEIs are explored through a literature review and small sample survey. The case study of a UK university is used to represent a HEI; e-learning technology is already in use within the university, considering the integration of media streaming technology into new or existing learning technologies. The hardware and software requirements are briefly examined, and possible business concerns and risks are identified with recommendations.
