Conventionally diesel engines are controlled in open loop with maps based on engine speed and throttle position wherein fuel quantity is indirectly fixed using the rail pressure and injection duration maps with engine speed and throttle position as the independent variables which are measured by the respective sensors. In this work an engine control unit (ECU) software architecture where fuel quantity is directly specified in relation to the driver demand was implemented by modifying the control logic of a throttle position based framework. A desired fuel quantity for a given engine speed and throttle position was mapped from base line experiments on the reference engine. Injection durations and rail pressure required for this quantity was mapped on a fuel injector calibration test bench. The final calculation of injection duration in the new architecture is calculated using the fuel injector model. This enables determination of fuel quantity injected at any moment which directly indicates the torque produced by the engine at a given speed enabling smoke limited fuelling calculations and easing the implementation of control functions like all-speed governing.

Small and medium-sized companies increasingly turning their attention towards the fourth industrial revolution. In order to increase their own long-term competitiveness, there is a growing desire to make production smarter, more efficient, safer and more sustainable through new technologies. Often, however, existing plants cannot be easily replaced by modern equipment. The reasons for this can be high investment costs, excessive downtimes or the unavailability of an equivalent machine. An alternative solution to the purchase of new equipment is the modernisation or expansion of existing systems, also called retrofitting. Thus, this paper deals with the retrofit process of a machine tool, whereby the software architecture of the control unit is the primary concern of this work.

The problems of designing a hexapod control system - a mechanism with parallel kinematics, designed for guidance and positioning of instruments and antennas of orbiting satellite platforms are considered. Based on the solution of the extended kinematics problem, the algorithm for controlling linear drives with a kinematic pair of screw-nut and two two-axis hinges is specified. The hexapod control scheme with the spatial load position sensor is given, the feasibility of positional control algorithms is estimated on the basis of the modern domestic element base. The estimation is made by the method of mathematical modeling. An algorithm for adaptive neural network control of a hexapod is proposed. An artificial neural network has been developed, which together with a nonlinear controller regulates the force acting on linear actuators by control error. To assess the quality of hexapod control, a dynamic model of the hexapod control system was created in the simulation package SimMechanics of the MATLAB Simulink system. A description is given of the hardware part of the digital control system-the hexapod control unit).

The paper proposed a safety interlock monitoring system, which takes PLC network control as the core, constitutes computer control and display unit, catenary isolation switch control unit, automatic grounding switch, automatic inspection electrical detection, access control units, security alarm unit, video surveillance unit, and other components. Using to create a new centralized control room next Paddock to do a series of work. Itll not only improve work efficiency, but also shorten the entire job process, improve the safety of the operator, has a good promotion prospects.

A model and architecture for an active phased array antenna with a neural network control unit has been developed, which provides correction of the amplitude-phase distribution depending on the quality of work of individual array modules. The possibility of adapting the system to failures of individual modules is shown.

Various methods of video-enhanced microscopy combine TV cameras with light microscopes creating images with improved resolution, contrast and visibility of fine detail, which can be recorded rapidly and relatively inexpensively. The AVEC (Allen Video-enhanced Contrast) method avoids polarizing rectifiers, since the microscope is operated at retardations of λ/9- λ/4, where no anomaly is seen in the Airy diffraction pattern. The iris diaphram is opened fully to match the numerical aperture of the condenser to that of the objective. Under these conditions, no image can be realized either by eye or photographically. Yet the image becomes visible using the Hamamatsu C-1000-01 binary camera, if the camera control unit is equipped with variable gain control and an offset knob (which sets a clamp voltage of a D.C. restoration circuit). The theoretical basis for these improvements has been described.
