With the development of computer network and automation technology, network production of NC machine tool has become trend in enterprise. Aim at communicate interface of NC machine tool, a NC machine tool control system design based on CAN bus was presented. Asynchronism serial communication software between DNC host computer with NC system and hardware realization of CAN bus communication and the key technologies for realizing system were discussed in detail.

Advanced control approaches are essential for industrial processes to enhance system performance and increase the production rate. Model Predictive Control (MPC) is considered as one of the promising advanced control algorithms. It is suitable for several industrial applications for its ability to handle system constraints. However, it is not widely implemented in the industrial field as most field engineers are not familiar with the advanced techniques conceptual structure, the relation between the parameter settings and control system actions. Conversely, the Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller is a common industrial controller known for its simplicity and robustness. Adapting the parameters of the PID considering system constraints is a challenging task. Both controllers, MPC and PID, merged in a hierarchical structure in this work to improve the industrial processes performance considering the operational constraints. The proposed control system is simulated and implemented on a three-tank benchmark system as a Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) system. Since the main industrial goal of the proposed configuration is to be easily implemented using the available automation technology, PID controller is implemented in a PLC (Programable Logic Controller) controller as a lower controller level, while MPC controller and the adaptation mechanism are implemented within a SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system as a higher controller level.

The configuration software (KingView) is introduced based on the research projects about coal transportation control system design of XuZhou Power Station that describes the method to utilize the strong function of “Kingview 6”. Particularly the concrete implementation and development about several important parts, such as the making screen, the trend curve, the data form and the alarm function are researched, using the PLC software in King View to simulate system and introducing the key program. The results show that the integration of automation technology, computer technology and communications technology contributes to high precision, stable performance, strong practicability and improvement efficiency.

The activity at the "Pangeran Antasari Balikpapan" Vocational School has several objectives: improving teacher competency by training and testing directly on Arduino-based practice modules that have multi-input and multi-output peripherals that have extensive functions for applications in automatic control systems. Analysis and discussion to partners there are 2 main problems, the problem of automation technology and teacher competence. The problem of automation technology is solved by training practice modules that are useful as learning media in the field of automatic control systems and can be implemented for various applications. The problem of teacher competence with technology updates is solved by the development of learning media so that the teacher is able to create and innovate in the control system. The method used in this activity is discussion, explanation, demonstration, practice, and observation.

The development of sophisticated technology in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, namely the collaboration between automation technology and the internet, causing changes in the combat and reconnaissance model to be remotely. The internet of things based omni wheel robot is divided into three module units, the main module, the data processing module, and the drive module. This concept uses a telemetry control system that is integrated with computers and the internet for data processing. The omni wheel robot is used in urban terrain for autonomous mobile surveillance operations and webcam monitoring via a web server. The omni wheel robot is designed to use four omni wheel controls and a trajectory as the main autonomous drive for the robot, the raspberry pi 3 is a microcontroller for processing programs on the robot and the webcam is used to take pictures of the terrain the robot passes through. All controls on the omni wheel robot use a telemetry system by using Wi-Fi internet network access remotely to minimize losses for TNI soldiers’ personnel in carrying out reconnaissance tasks.

There was a common use of instrument and control (I&C) system based on analog technology in design and construction of nuclear power plant built more than ten years ago. With the development and update of automation technology, digital control system has almost completely replaced the older generation technology in many areas of industry. For the nuclear power plant still using the analog I&C system, it caused the reduction of the production lines of related components and the lack of specified technical engineer. Along with the aging and obsolescence of analog technology equipment, the unsustainability of spares prompted the owners of nuclear power plant to implement modernization using digital technologies. Different from the design of digital control system in new nuclear power plant, the modernization project design is limited by the setting of the original system. Therefore, most owners adopt the function alternative strategy to implement the upgrading project. This strategy can effectively solve the problem of spares shortage, but it is difficult to fully elaborate the advantages of digital control system. Based on the technical characteristics of digital control system and the design experience derived from new nuclear power project construction, this paper puts forward the optimized design measures, under the limitation of the old power plant, to enhance the safety and economy of the nuclear power plant after final digital upgrading.
