Technological advancement over the year has contributed immensely to the enhancement of quality of life through various new products and services. One such revolution in the field of construction industry is the pre-engineered buildings (PEB). Pre-engineered building concept involves the steel building system which are predesigned and prefabricated. Pre-engineered building structure brings optimization technique and faster construction technology. PEB are designed according to the analytical results so the section of this particular elements is tapered according to the results and this concept makes the structure light weight and also provide the best possible sections according to the optimum requirements and cost effectiveness. In current scenario pre-engineered building (PEB) construction is used for multi storey building having large span. In the present work, the study of pre-engineered building (PEB) with conventional steel building (CSB) has been carried out, in this study pre-engineered building (PEB) and conventional steel building (CSB) were designed as per IS 800:2007. Comparative assessment will be conducted between PEB system and CSB system by using STAAD Pro V8i software. I have taken different plan and different material specifications also different height (G+10, G+20) and different span (3880 mm, 4850 mm) for plans for study of material consumption. After the study result of PEB and CSB structures observed that the PEB structures reduce the material consumption.

AbstractNature inspired swarm based meta-heuristic optimization technique is getting considerable attention and established to be very competitive with evolution based and physical based algorithms. This paper proposes a novel Buyer Inspired Meta-heuristic optimization Algorithm (BIMA) inspired form the social behaviour of human being in searching and bargaining for products. In BIMA, exploration and exploitation are achieved through shop to shop hoping and bargaining for products to be purchased based on cost, quality of the product, choice and distance to the shop. Comprehensive simulations are performed on 23 standard mathematical and CEC2017 benchmark functions and 3 engineering problems. An exhaustive comparative analysis with other algorithms is done by performing 30 independent runs and comparing the mean, standard deviation as well as by performing statistical test. The results showed significant improvement in terms of optimum value, convergence speed, and is also statistically more significant in comparison to most of the reported popular algorithms.

The purpose of the article is to analyze the inventories of the production enterprise and determine the directions of its development strategy. The methodology consists in the use of the following methods: grouping and comparison of indicators in the implementation of horizontal and vertical analysis, calculation of deviations by years; methods of coefficient analysis; generalization of the obtained results. The scientific novelty of the work is to improve the analysis of the production enterprise. Conclusions. The analysis of the activity of the production enterprise showed that one of the leading fields of the food industry of Ukraine is the bakery field. The researched enterprise constantly introduces new technologies into production, as a result the need for quantity of materials decreases, therefore material consumption decreases, and also quality of production increases, new markets are mastered, etc. Keywords: analysis, analytical procedures, production enterprise, profitability.

The term, “technology,” as used here, refers basically to: (1) the science or art of devising tools and instruments and how to use them; (2) the development of new materials and substances and their application; (3) the development of machines to supplement or replace human effort, where desirable and feasible; (4) the development of energy and power resources for running the machines; and (5) the development of efficient methods of doing work—that is, using tools, machines, and instruments. From an observation of human efforts throughout the world, it is clear that every human society is concerned with technology, for it is a proven means by which man has extended his power beyond his physical capacity and gained some control over his environment. Although technology exists in every society, it is the amount and quality of the technology that separates nations today on a scale of economic development. Whilst the developing, technologically backward countries of Africa constantly face the basic human needs of food, shelter, and clothing, the developed nations consume and enjoy a disproportionate amount of the world’s resources and wealth by reason of their technological advancement.

In the current scenario quality control became mandatory for all the sectors .This study is intended to examine the impact of internet facilities on students’ performance through a Blended Learning as a medium in an academic institution. It was examined, how the Blended Learning encompasses a variety of tools to create flexible, rich learning environments that stimulate learners and maximizes the potential for learning? Another objective is Application of Six Sigma methodology in this study is to improve the medium of learning i.e. internet connectivity through a set of procedures in an effective way. Six Sigma can be again viewed as a discipline or an approach driven by data and methodology for eliminating defects in any process- from manufacturing to transactional and from product to service.Keeping the aforesaid two objectives in mind, data was collected from a sample of 119 students residing in various hostel blocks using stratified random sampling technique. Questionnaire was developed after an extensive literature review to measure the impact of internet connectivity in Blended Learning of the students. The questionnaire to measure was based on the model developed by Shawn M. Glynn (2011).The scale was developed by referring to previous models developed by various authors to measure the impact of internet connectivity in the Blended Learning of the students. The statistical analysis used was reliability statistics, KMO, Bartlett’s test and Factor Analysis. The data was analyzed by SPSS version 20). Masonry retaining structure consists of precast concrete blocks, which has good looks and is in harmony with environment. Blocks with proper shape can be used in fluctuating belt of the reservoir area. The construction of masonry structure should conform to the following steps: first, excavate the foundation ditch, lay a cushion and arrange the controlling points, insuring the quality of the first layer of blocks; it would be better to choose inorganic coarse-grained soil as filler and to set a water filtering layer with a height more than 30cm behind the retaining wall; carry on the construction of earth filling behind the wall after the blocks are fixed as requested, and then fix the geotechnical grille when the height of earth filling reaches the elevation of the grille; put Geotechnical Fabric between permeable aggregate and the earth filling behind it to keep the two materials from mixing.

Paper specifies the wood-framed with sheathing construction including phases of realization and exploitation. Methods of investigation based on practice and theory has been employed where practical identification of processes and their phases were presented with theoretical description of structure deformation within the exploitation period. Obtained results of investigations are presented in the form of technologic and mechanic of structure diagrams for buildings with adequate algorithms of analysis. Paper presents practical systematic of construction stages, technological problems and hazards in respect of loading and construction technology with method of computation of vertical deformations of building. Paper presents evaluation of contribution of wood defects in response to loading in the wood-framed residential building in exploitation process. Location of knots, allocation of pith in the elements cross section, defects of slope of grain and influence of moisture decreasing is examined in the paper. The wood-framed with sheathing in the form of large panel or modular three dimensional 3D elements are the most often used technology. This kind of buildings are actually constructed up to four story as a multifamily or varying universal buildings like school, kid-garden or offices. Low dead load from 0.30 to 1.00 kN/m2 and its favorable proportion to the live load increase energy saving factor in realization and within the exploitation time. Low own weight of structure enables complete prefabrication of wall, floor and roof panels, improving quality of construction and shortening time of construction. Process of prefabrication, wide assortment and variety of factory production does not require time consuming processes and complicated moulds or shuttering indispensable in precast RC structural elements.

The design of a tubular electrobaromembrane apparatus for purification of technological solutions of machinebuilding and chemical industries is developed. An optimized version of the apparatus with an increased effective area of separation of solutions is presented, its volume and weight are calculated. The developed design of the apparatus allows to increase the area of separation of solutions, to increase the productivity and quality of separation of solutions and to reduce material consumption per unit volume of the apparatus. Attention to the quality of care within the United States health care system has grown tremendously over the past decade. We have witnessed a significant change in how quality improvement and clinical performance measurement are approached. The current focus on quality and safety stems in part from the increasingly clear realization that more services and technological advancement are not automatically equivalent to high-quality care. Much of the discussion about cost and quality in health care is shifting towards the concept of value. Value is defined as health outcomes achieved per dollar spent (in other words, an assessment of the quality of care per cost). This chapter reviews the current state of quality improvement in health care and, because improvement cannot be determined without measurement, reviews several aspects of effective clinical performance measurement. Since many measures are already in place, the chapter describes some of the organizations involved in quality measurement and improvement, as well the approaches they utilize. It looks at the multiple strategies in place to improve quality, from process management to collaboration, from financial incentives to transparency, and reviews newer models of care delivery that may materialize in the near future. Tables list types of quality measures, characteristics to consider when developing a quality measure, and organizations involved in quality improvement and performance measurement. A figure shows strategies used by the federal government to spur performance measurement and quality improvement. This chapter contains 56 references.

Higher Education in the post globalization knowledge economy is beset with a host of problems pertaining to quality. Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) are in a dire need of strengthening individual and institutional effectiveness in imparting higher education that meets the global quality requirements. In keeping with the current scenario of Higher Education, it is essential to understand the bi-focal role of Academic Entrepreneurship and Academic Leadership in enhancing the quality of Higher Education. The purpose of this chapter is to understand the symbiotic relation between the two and their role in enhancing the quality of higher education. It also attempts to propose an integrated framework of the Indian Higher Education System's entrepreneurial and leadership system and finally it attempts to devise or suggest strategies to be adopted by both in synchrony to act as catalysts' for Quality Higher Education.
