Branchiomycosis is a fungal disease that infects fish gills. It wasidentified by isolation and histopathological changes of examined gills incommon carp fish (Cyprinus carpio) which, were obtained from fish farm inDuhok Governorate, Iraq. The infected fish were suffering from respiratorydisorders; gulping air at the water surface, rapid movement of operculum andmassive mortality, which resulted in the loss of 95% of fish pond. The gillsappear marbled appearance with necrotic areas on the localized damage gills. The causal pathogen was identified as Branchiomyces sanguinis, in which thediameter of spores and non-septated hyphae are 5-7 μm and 12 – 20 μm,respectively. In histopathological preparation, the spores and the non-septatedhyphae have been shown to be embedded in the gill tissues contained undividedand sporulating stages.

Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) germplasm were sourced from Bauchi and Ibadan aimed at studying their hatchability from the various intraspecific crosses and effect of frequencies of feeding on stocking density of Carp fry. Both male and female were injected with Ovaprim at 0.5ml/kg body weight intramuscularly at a single dose. The number of eggs in 1 gram mass was determined, Fertilization rate and percentage of hatchability were calculated. One hundred and eighty (180) fry of Cyprinus carpio were randomly picked and distributed in nine bowls of 50 litres at three stocking densities with replicates for each treatment. The frequencies of feeding were in these order; Ten (10) fry per bowl of 50 litres were fed twice a day, Twenty ( 20) fry per bowl of 50 litres were fed four times a day, Thirty (30) fry per bowl of 50 litres were fed six times a day, respectively for 8 weeks with 30gm of 0.2mm Coppens starter diet. The Ib♀ x Ba♂ cross had the highest hatchability though highest fertilization rate was recorded by Ba♀ X Ba♂ cross. The various crosses had above 50% hatchability, though percentagehatchability differed significantly at (P <0.05). While the growth pattern of the different stocking densities at different feeding frequencies differed significantly (p<0.05). The intra specific crossing of different sexes from the two sources gave a higher yield as can be seen with the IB♀ x BA♂. Whereas carp fry stocked at a lower stocking density with a fewer feeding frequency had best growth.

The objective of this research was to obtain probiotic bacteria isolated from the digestive tract of catfish Clarias batracus, to evaluate its effect on growth performances and survival rate of carp. After purified, the bacteria was identified through biochemical tests and selection was carried out through proteolytic, amylolytic, cellulolytic, tests as well as pathogenicity test. Probiotic candidate was administered orally to fish at different concentrations. The fish were fed for 30 days respectively as much as 3% of body weight per day with feeding frequency of two times a day. The results showed that addition of probiotics into feed significantly increased growth performance but not survival rate. Keywords: Probiotic, Clarias batracus,  growth performance, aquaculture.

Carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) is one of the oldest and most commercially cultivated freshwater fish in the World. However, there are still many undetermined phylogenetic relationships and the origins of common goldfish lineages, which are an obstacle to the conservation and genetic reproduction of this species. In the process of phylogenetic analysis, researchers used mitochondrial genomes where the genomic DNA was obtained from homozygous double haploid clonal lines from domesticated Songpu strains, and the total genomic DNA was extracted and sequenced using next-generation sequencing technology. Complete mitochondrial genome sequencing of 11 individuals representing East Asia and Europe and phylogenetic analysis was performed. The purpose of this study is to provide information about the phenology of Cyprinus carpio fish, which is expected to be the basis for increasing understanding to determine the kinship relationship between Cyprinus carpio in East Asia and Europe. The results showed that the relationship between Cyprinus carpio color, Cyprinus carpio songpu mirror carp, Cyprinus carpio carpio, and Cyprinus carpio wuyuanensis was very close, this can be seen from the bootstrap value of 100%. Meanwhile, with Cyprinus carpio haematopterus has a bootstrap value of 70%. Meanwhile, with Cyprinus xingguonensis it has a bootstrap value of 66%. Furthermore, it can also be said that the Songpu mirror goldfish is closely related to C. carpio carpio which is also a member of the genus Cyprinu. The genus Cyprinu has a close relationship with the genus Catla. In the phylogenetic tree, this species of fish forms a very coherent group, supported by a high bootstrap value of 100% and an average genetic distance of 0.02.  Key words: Mitochondrial genome, Phylogenetics, general Cyprinus carpio
