Moral education and technology seem to represent two fundamentally different kinds of concern and domains of inquiry. But these domains are fused in educational practice. Teaching as a fundamental human endeavor and form of activity has been a central component of human cultural evolution and regeneration from the earliest human social groupings. As a distinctive form of activity, teaching braids together ethical and instrumental norms and values. The modern, global institution of schooling has added layers of institutional support, constraint, and governance on the teaching it structures as well as increased scrutiny of the ethical and instrumental values in play; schooling is in effect a kind of moral technology for advancing certain norms and values in an efficient way. At present, technological developments with modern society make possible new forms of teaching and learning that likewise warrant scrutiny as they impact the ethical and instrumental ends of teaching and instructional practices today.

The article presents an approximate portrait of works on education and technology in Brazil that claimed themselves as being developed under Paulo Freire’s framework. The composition performed through content analysis exposes characteristics of the sample of 29 articles. The investigation focused on one point of this portrait, when analyzing whether the works addressed the relations of power, exploitation and domination, common elements in critical approaches and examined through the contributions of Apple and Au (2015) and Selwyn (2016a, 2017), in dialogue with Freire (1987, 1998). Although they do not adhere to the predominant discourse in the literature in the area, most articles do not explore these important issues for a critical approach. In the limits of this research, it is highlighted the necessity of more works of education and technology under Paulo Freire’s framework that considers the political nature of technology.

Kata kunci: Simulasi Interaktif PhET, Inkuiri Terbimbing, Pembelajaran FisikaAbstract: The rapid development of technology and information world can provide an alternative for educators to use various learning media, one of which is Physics Education and Technology (PhET). The purpose of this review is to explain 1). The effectiveness of the application of PhET simulation media in the physics learning process, 2) The strategy of applying the PhET simulation media in the physics learning process, and 3) The anvantages and disanvantages of the PhET simulation media in the physics learning process. The writing of this article uses a qualitative method based on a post positivisme philosophy with data collection techniques in the form of tri-anggulation (combined), namely library research through data collection, especially verbal data such as books, articles, notes, and various other scientific literature. The data collected is then analyzed inductively. Based on the results of literature review, data analysis, and discussion it can be concluded that 1). PhET simulation media are effectively used to help teachers and students in learning physics concepts, 2) PhET simulation media are very well combined with inquiry learning models, and 3) PhET simulation media has the advantages of being effective in explaining abstract physical concepts, while the disadvantages is that the implementation in schools is very dependent on the computer units available. Keywords: PhET Interactive Simulations, Guided Inquiry, Physics Learning

ABSTRACTHealth is one of the conditions for a realized generation that is ready with a variety of future Information continues to grow as the development of education and technology. Information has become an important need of the community. A society that is rich in information will advance and develop in accordance with the development of science itself, otherwise the people who are left behind in their information will also be scattered from development and progress. One forum that can facilitate to keep abreast of information is Community Reading Gardens (TBM). For this reason, activities are carried out in the form of: 1) providing the competence and theoretical and applicative understanding in organizing Community Reading Gardens (TBM), 2) Establishing and developing Community Reading Gardens by providing facilities and infrastructure in accordance with program capabilities. Results 1) Increased competence and understanding of the community in the management of Community Reading Gardens (TBM), 2) Establishment of Community Reading Gardens (TBM) as a forum for collecting information for the community. Keywords: Training, Development, Community Reading Park (TBM)
