When assessing the quality of space in Almaty’s districts, there were calculated the groups of indicators that reflect the basic characteristics of a modern city: safety, comfort, ecology, diversity, modernity, business environment, quality of life, social development and human capital. Data from open sources were used: Department of statistics of Almaty, Committee on legal statistics and special accounts of the General prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Department of emergency situations of Almaty. The study concluded that the spatial development of Almaty is uneven. Four types of territories were identified in the city structure: the historic center, integrated with the adjoining business center; microdistricts of mass housing development (sleeping areas); old areas of low-rise buildings and private households; new annexed areas that are characterized by unregulated individual housing construction. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that the quality of urban space is an important factor in the sustainable economic development of the city, in particular business. It was also concluded that it is necessary to develop a universal system of urban development indicators for use on an ongoing basis by representatives of business and the Akimat of Almaty in order to more fully identify the problems of urban space development, develop and implement strategic plans for the city’s development, as well as urban researchers.

The work is devoted to the consideration of the concepts of the spatial development of the cities of Ukraine taking into account today's specifics of the formation of institutes of their management. The issues discussed in this article are relevant to almost any city in modern Ukraine at the stage of transition of the country from industrial to post-industrial type. Among the most pressing issues are the rational use of territorial resources and environmental security within urban systems. There is also a trend of uneven economic development in urban areas. The solution to this problem is the balanced development of urban space with a diversified economy and infrastructure, as well as high quality of life. The formation of multifunctional urban areas will ensure sustainable spatial development of the city and significantly affect the quality of life. Identifying areas within the city that are inefficiently used and have additional development potential will provide an important resource, which, unlike remote areas, is already provided with transport and engineering infrastructure. Efficient use of territorial resources will allow the formation of a rational compact planning structure of the city. The housing of high quality should be provided with the necessary social and transport infrastructure, be diverse, medium, and multi-story. Comfortable stay of citizens in public spaces involves the integration of public spaces into the cultural life of the city based on the expansion of existing and introduction of new functional content, including the implementation of commercial initiatives and their use in organizing important socio-cultural projects. A comfortable stay in the city largely depends on the architectural appearance of its historic and modern buildings. Existing buildings create the front line of streets, form the environment of public spaces, define the line of the city silhouette. Filling the existing recreational areas included in the system of public spaces with new meanings to citizens.

The article presents theoretical analyze the importance of implementation the concept of inclusive design in urban space; the relevance between the implementation of inclusive design and the quality of life of citizens of the settlement. Inclusive design is design that considers the full range of human diversity with respect to ability, language, culture, gender, age and other forms of human difference. Increasing the number of elderly people (9,4 mln people over 60 or 22% of the population of Ukraine), people with disabilities (2,6 mln people – 6% of the population), families with young children, pregnant (4 % of the population) makes to the city, its design and infrastructure new challenges. These groups risk becoming effectively excluded from significant parts of city life, suffering marginalisation, exclusion and isolation. Limiting a city's access to just a part of the population while ignoring a significant other part, is economically, socially and politically unsustainable. Inclusive design at the city create the opportunity to guarantee equal access to fundamental rights; improve the quality of life of its population and ensure that everybody - regardless of age, mobility or ability - has equal access to all the resources and pleasures cities have to offer. Inclusive design creates an opportunity to support and create equal living conditions for the most vulnerable groups (people with disabilities, the elderly, families with young children). Implementation the ID to the urban space also support development economical sustainability of the city: increase the level of employment people and reducing unemployment, accordingly increasing the purchasing power of citizens, local business development, increase income to the budget; reduction the level of social exclusion, isolation and therefore increase the degree of independence of the client and the reduction of funds for social welfare and individual support. Creation access to the education facilities will increase the level of education. As the results, better education support better employment and higher salary. Creation accessibility also support of tourism attraction of the city. Creation inclusive design in the urban space support to improve the quality and sustainability of municipal services. Inclusive design ensure involving citizens to the city life.

Current social requirements concerning the living environment tend to be more and more related to the natural values of the urban space. People are aware of the fact that contact with nature is extremely important for of mental and physical health. Therefore, the quality of the natural environment around the place of living influences the quality of life. The studies confirm that the presence of natural elements in the urban space may expressly affect the improvement of this quality. An example of a city with high quality of life is represented by Olsztyn, the capital of the Warmian- Masurian Province, located within the borders of the functional area of the Green Lungs of Poland, which is characterized by the particularly valuable quality of its natural environment. This is confirmed by the results of the social Diagnosis dated 2015, which put Olsztyn in 4th place among the largest Polish cities in the ranking concerning the quality of life. It is also influenced by the quality of the natural environment, which in the case of Olsztyn is manifested in a large number of green areas and standing bodies of water located within the administrative borders of the city. The aim of this paper is to compare the quality of the living environment of individual boroughs of Olsztyn conditioned by the natural elements (greenery, bodies of water, air, noise) in relation to the received public opinion polling results.

The increase of the world population demands a greater infrastructure of services and endowments in the city, to determine the optimum quality of life of inhabitants. In the case of urban space, it is expected to be distributed in an equitable way in the city, guaranteeing optimum coverage, especially for the most vulnerable populations. This work aims to analyze equity in the distribution of public space in Bogotá, based on a characterization of poverty, by location, and its relationship with the quality indicators of public space. This analysis determines which locations have the highest levels of poverty in the city and if they are the same with the highest endowments, in terms of public investment. A discussion scenario is established in the face of the focused involvement of local government investments.
