Image processing technologies may be employed for quicker and accurate diagnosis in analysis and feature extraction of medical images. Here, existing level set algorithm is modified and it is employed for extracting contour of fetus in an image. In traditional approach, fetal parameters are extracted manually from ultrasound images. An automatic technique is highly desirable to obtain fetal biometric measurements due to some problems in traditional approach such as lack of consistency and accuracy. The proposed approach utilizes global & local region information for fetal contour extraction from ultrasonic images. The main goal of this research is to develop a new methodology to aid the analysis and feature extraction.

In medical imaging, accurate anatomical structure extraction is important for diagnosis and therapeutic interventional planning. So, for easier, quicker and accurate diagnosis of medical images, image processing technologies may be employed in analysis and feature extraction of medical images. In this paper, some modifications to level set algorithm are made and modified algorithm is used for extracting contour of foetal objects in an image. The proposed approach is applied on foetal ultrasound images. In traditional approach, foetal parameters are extracted manually from ultrasound images. Due to lack of consistency and accuracy of manual measurements, an automatic technique is highly desirable to obtain foetal biometric measurements. This proposed approach is based on global & local region information for foetal contour extraction from ultrasonic images. The primary goal of this research is to provide a new methodology to aid the analysis and feature extraction from foetal images.

The objective: to show a role of the family focused technologies in depression of frequency of pathology of pregnancy at women of high obstetric risk. Patients and methods. For determination of efficiency of prophylaxis of pathology of pregnancy on the basis of use of the family focused technologies complex clinical-psychological and laboratory and tool examination of 300 women with factors of obstetric risk which were divided into two groups was conducted. In the main group – 182 women with motivation on partner labors to which provided training on system of individual preparation of married couple to labors. The comparison group consisted of 118 women who were not in prenatal training and had individual support in childbirth, with the traditional approach to pain management. Results. Use of the family focused technologies during pregnancy allows to reduce significantly the frequency of the main complications of pregnancy, especially not incubation and premature births. Conclusion. In our opinion, the technique is simple, available and can widely be used in practical health care at women with high obstetric risk. Key words: obstetric risk, the family focused technologies, prophylaxis.

Purpose The current popular image processing technologies based on convolutional neural network have the characteristics of large computation, high storage cost and low accuracy for tiny defect detection, which is contrary to the high real-time and accuracy, limited computing resources and storage required by industrial applications. Therefore, an improved YOLOv4 named as YOLOv4-Defect is proposed aim to solve the above problems. Design/methodology/approach On the one hand, this study performs multi-dimensional compression processing on the feature extraction network of YOLOv4 to simplify the model and improve the feature extraction ability of the model through knowledge distillation. On the other hand, a prediction scale with more detailed receptive field is added to optimize the model structure, which can improve the detection performance for tiny defects. Findings The effectiveness of the method is verified by public data sets NEU-CLS and DAGM 2007, and the steel ingot data set collected in the actual industrial field. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed YOLOv4-Defect method can greatly improve the recognition efficiency and accuracy and reduce the size and computation consumption of the model. Originality/value This paper proposed an improved YOLOv4 named as YOLOv4-Defect for the detection of surface defect, which is conducive to application in various industrial scenarios with limited storage and computing resources, and meets the requirements of high real-time and precision.

In the modern world, many countries recognize that education should act in the interests and for the benefit of the ideas of sustainable development. At the same time, sustainable development itself becomes an integral element of quality education and its key factor. In Russia, the “national strategy of education for sustainable development” has been formed, which provides for a reorientation from ensuring that students have certain knowledge to the ability to analyse real problems and find possible solutions for them. At the same time, the traditional approach to teaching based on the study of specific subjects remains, but it is important to ensure that each student is able to carry out an interdisciplinary analysis of real-life situations. Currently, a project on “Key areas of development of Russian education for achieving the goals and objectives of sustainable development in the education system” until 2035 has been developed and published, which contains indicators that allow us to assess the achievement of the goals set out in it. However, this document hardly presents the level of higher professional education and its contribution to sustainable development. The article will examine the role of Russian higher education in the concept of sustainable development.

Teaching is generally considered a complex practice that involves the constant and dynamic interaction between the teacher, the students and the subject matter. One of the main goals of most education reform initiatives has been to change teachers’ classroom practices. Most recent reform curricula focus on highlighting teacher practices that promote and evoke students’ understanding alongside the changes in content (Tirosh & Graeber, 2003). Changes to a teacher’s role that are included in the education reform movement call for more research in order to understand and theorise teachers’ classroom practices. In this paper, I will present patterns-of-participation (PoP) as a promising framework that aims to understand the role of the teacher for emerging classroom practices. Instead of relying on a traditional approach to understanding classroom practices by analysing teachers’ beliefs, this framework applies a participatory approach to look for patterns in the participation of individual teachers in many social practices at the school and in the classroom. Some of these practices are directly related to the teaching and learning of mathematics while others are not. And some of them relate to communities that are not actually present in the classroom or at the school. PoP views teachers’ social interaction in a certain community as a piece which is influenced by other pieces of social interactions. In every interaction, the ‘pieces’ shape a ‘fluctuating pattern' that shows the shifting impact of different, previous practices and the dynamic relations between them (Skott, 2010; 2011; 2013).

There is an interrelation with ultrasound / physiotherapist and the duty of the physiotherapist to know how to perform ultrasound examinations alone, not for diagnostic purposes, to follow the evolution of the therapeutic cycle of physiotherapy. For this reason, ultrasound image analysis (US) is a promising non-invasive approach that uses load-dependent changes in the intensity of the echo to characterize the rigidity of muscle and tendon tissue. The purpose of this contribution is to improve the use of ultrasound images (US) and the role of the physiotherapist, who are able to detect localized changes, in particular in stiffness of the tendon due to partial and full-thickness tendon tears. Image intensity information is less sensitive for identifying load transmission variations resulting from partial thickness cuts initiated on the joint side. Ultrasound images can be useful for quantitatively assessing the variations dependent on the tendon load and muscle stiffness in physiotherapy and that the interruption of the behavior of the acousto-elastic ultrasound images can be indicative of substantial damage to the muscle or tendon.

The article considers didactic aspects of competence-based and interdisciplinary approaches to teaching accounting for university students. The author proves the necessity to improve the national accounting education aimed at cohesion of theory and practice, production of new knowledge, its spread and usage via innovation activities. The article criticizes traditional approach to typical problem-solving connected with calculations and memorizing double-entries for failing to develop student’s analytical skills. It also promotes case-studies to infuse knowledge and skills enabling students to professionally solve real life like problems which they are likely to face. The article also considers seminars in the light of communication and its frame to inform students of innovation theoretical concepts of accounting. In addition the author looks into changes in the role of the lecture teaching accounting as well as forms and methods of teaching accounting as well as forms and methods of teaching accounting due to access to IT. The article underlines the importance of increased autonomy and self-reliance of students. It also describes professional literature as a key information resource in accounting.
