This study aimed to measure the effect of attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control on purchase behavior of working students in a private higher education in Tangerang which are mediated by purchase intention and moderated by halal awareness. Data collection was done by simple random sampling to 410 population of working students. The returned and valid questionnaire results were 211 samples. Data processing was used SEM method with Smart PLS 3.0 software. The results of this study concluded that attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control have a significant effect on purchase intention. Meanwhile, purchase intention have a significant effect on working student purchase behavior, and halal awareness moderated effect of purchase intention on purchase behavior. This study aimed to measure the effect of attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control on purchase behavior of consumers in Tangerang which are mediated by purchase intention and moderated by halal awareness. Data collection was done by simple random sampling to the 510 population of working consumers. The returned and valid questionnaire results were 311 samples. Data processing was used in the SEM method with SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results of this study concluded that attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control have a significant effect on purchase intention. Meanwhile, purchase intention has a significant effect on working student purchase behavior, and halal awareness moderated effect of purchase intention on purchase behavior.

This thesis aims to analyze how Non-Muslim consumers' perceptions of purchasing halal food products. This type of research is Basic research with causal objectives and uses a quantitative research approach. This study also uses a purposive sampling approach which is a sampling technique based on the aim of getting samples from people who have met established criteria. The analysis in this study was SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) which processed data using SPSS 20 and AMOS 18 software. This software was used for testing the Measurement Model and Structural Model. The results of this study stated that the attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control of non-Muslim consumers in Surabaya had a positive influence on the purchase intention of halal food products. This study focuses on examining the impact of three components of materialism on green purchase intention for urban consumers in Vietnam, an emerging economy. An extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) is applied as the conceptual framework for this study. The hypotheses are empirically tested using survey data obtained from consumers in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The regression results show support for most of our hypotheses. The findings indicate that two out of three facets of materialism are significant predictors of green purchase intention. Specifically, success is found to be negatively related to purchase intention, while happiness is related positively to the intention. All three antecedents in the TPB model, including attitude towards green purchase, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control are also found to have positive impacts on purchase intention. The research findings are discussed and implications for managers and policy makers are provided.

The purpose of this paper is to determine the intention of consumer in choosing halal products, particularly for food products. The three main elements in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) consisting of attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control is connected to the intention to consume halal products, particularly halal food. This study refers to the two studies both in the Malaysian context. This is a survey-based research. It used a questionnaire for collecting the data taken from  151 active students of Faculty of Economics and Business in Unpad who participated as the respondents in this research. The data were analysed using a descriptive statistics, correlation, chi-square. and multiple regression. The findings show that the three main elements have a significance effect on the intention. This study is unique since it was conducted in Indonesia’s context and the results is slightly different from the findings of the previous one.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is: to explain the relative influence of attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control on purchase intention of the 2010 FIFA World Cup sponsored products; and to compare the purchase intention of American and Korean spectators toward sponsoring products of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The structural equation modeling (SEM) revealed that subjective norm and perceived behavioral control were predictors of purchase intention. Further, multiple group analysis revealed that the path coefficient between subjective norm and purchase intention for the two groups was significantly different. Design/methodology/approach – A self-administered questionnaire was developed to measure the four constructs of the theory of planned behavior (TBP) as well as demographic information. Upon completion of the psychometric properties test of the TPB, a SEM was conducted to examine the proposed hypotheses. The same fit indices as with the measurement model were adopted to evaluate the model fit. Finally, a multi-group analysis was conducted to examine if the proposed relationships are different based on nationality (American vs Korean samples). A comparison of χ2 value between unconstrained and constrained models was employed to assess whether the two groups are statistically different. Findings – SEM revealed that subjective norm and perceived behavioral control were predictors of purchase intention. In this study, a multi-group analysis was conducted to examine if the proposed relationships in our model are different based on nationality. As a result, we found that two groups (i.e. American vs Korean) exhibited notable differences in subjective norms in determining purchase intentions of the 2010 FIFA World Cup sponsored products. Originality/value – Sponsors for mega sporting events, like the FIFA World Cup, must develop global marketing plans that appeal to worldwide audiences. Sport marketers, therefore, need cross-cultural marketing analysis on equivalence and bias so that they better understand how spectators from different cultures behave after consuming the same event. Thus, application of the TPB in cross-cultural studies aimed at understanding consumer intention after spectating the FIFA World Cup would provide marketers with valuable information for the formation of global marketing strategies.

Background: The food industry in Malaysia has experienced significant development, especially in the halal food sector. The halal food industry is a market segment involved with food items and beverages that are strictly prepared according to rules underlined by the Islamic dietary law. In addition, the concept of halal covers not only Syariah law, but also hygiene, sanitation and food safety requirements. Malaysia has become a major global halal hub in delivering halal food to local and international levels. The significant development of halal food industry in Malaysia creates significant job opportunities for new graduating students.  Therefore, this study aims to evaluate factors that influence student intention to choose a career for the halal food industry in Malaysia. Research Methodology: This study using a quantitative research method with questionnaire development in assessing the factors that influence intention of students to involve in halal food industry as their future career. The underpinning theory is Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The independent variables are Attitude (A), Subjective Norm (SN) and Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC). This study developed four questions for each variable. Unit of analysis for respondents is university students in Malaysia. The sample size is 40 students that have an interest in working for halal food industry in Malaysia. The correlation analysis was analyzed using Pearson Correlation coefficient analysis. Meanwhile, the causal relationship was analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Results: The skewness values for four variables in this study are between -1 and +1 that indicates normal distribution. The value of Cronbach’s alpha statistical test for measuring internal reliability is larger than 0.7 for all four variables. Therefore, four constructs exhibit good reliability that indicates the suitability of internal consistency. Next, the value of R-squared for model fit in this study is 0.675 that indicates a good model fit that explained 67.5% of variance in dependent variable. Multiple regression analysis indicates Attitudes (A), Subjective Norm (SN) and Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC) are significant in predicting the value of Intention (I) to select a career in halal food industry. Conclusion: This study supported the hypothesis that indicates there is a positive and significant relationship of Attitude (A), Subjective Norm (SN) and Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC) towards Intention (I). The findings of this study add value to theoretical knowledge of career selection among university students. At the same time, this study provides guideline for government in developing better policy in cultivating interest among university students to be highly involved in the halal food industry.

The purpose of this study is to develop and verify the research model to examine the antecedents of electronic word of mouth on social commerce, which influences consumer purchase intentions. In the results, first, the attitude toward the electronic word of mouth, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control increases the electronic word of the consumer. Second, a consumer's electronic word of mouth increases his or her purchase intention. Finally, attitude toward the electronic word of mouth and perceived behavioral control among the pioneers of the electronic word of mouth of the consumer increases his or her purchase intention through the electronic word of mouth. This study is the first one to contribute to the study of social commerce by giving scholarly attention to electronic word of mouth. This study provides new ways to stimulate consumer purchase intention.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to compare the purchase intention of counterfeit sporting goods between Singaporean and Taiwanese students using the Theory of Planned Behavior. Design/methodology/approach – A quantitative approach was taken, collecting data from Singaporean and Taiwanese students studying in tertiary institutions. In total, 295 valid questionnaires were included in the data analysis. Findings – The results showed that consumers’ attitude, subjective norm, and brand consciousness were predictive of purchase intention for both countries, whereas perceived behavioral control had an effect only among Taiwanese students. Further analysis showed that Singapore students had significantly higher positive attitudes toward the purchase of counterfeit sporting goods and higher levels of acceptance from peers in purchasing counterfeits. Research limitations/implications – A limitation of this study was that respondents were selected from the undergraduate population and as such were relatively younger than the general population. Originality/value – The findings of this study provides a better understanding on how these factors affect purchase intention of counterfeit sporting goods across countries.

As one of the sustainable food, hydroponic vegetables begin to attract consumer attention. Previous studies focus on how to increase the willingness to pay (WTP). The cost of growing hydroponic might cause it as higher than traditional (soil agriculture) that drives higher prices. Instead of only focus on WTP, attitude and purchase intention are two constructs that important to estimate actual purchase behavior. However, a study about the antecedents of hydroponic vegetable’ purchase intention is still limited. This study aims to identify factors that can enhance purchase intention, group respondents based on those factors, and profile each respondent’s group. By online survey, 981 respondents were collected, and multiple regressions and cluster analysis analyzed further data. The result shows eight factors that could drive purchase intention (attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, perceived quality, price, availability, health consciousness, and knowledge), while environmental concern was not significant. Cluster analysis generates 3 clusters of respondents that have different profiles based on all factors and demographics variables. This study contributes to portraying respondents’ responses toward hydroponics that could deliver implications for entrepreneurs or marketers to attract target consumers based on all factors and develop a strategy based on their profiles.

This study examines some antecedents of the intention and behavior toward buying counterfeit luxury goods among young consumers in Vietnam, an Asian emerging economy. The data was obtained from university undergraduate students in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The results of structural equation modeling show support for most of our hypotheses. The findings indicate that materialism (the centrality component) has positive impact on attitude toward purchase of counterfeit luxury goods. Attitude and subjective norm toward counterfeit luxury goods are found to be positively related to purchase intention, while perceived behavioral control is not found to have a direct impact on purchase intention. In addition, perceived behavioral control and purchase intention are found to be significant predictors of purchase behavior. The research findings are discussed and implications for managers and policy makers are provided.
