Abstract. Today, possibilities of artificial intelligence allow us to see the emergence of autonomous cars. However, there are still many problems in this area at present. Often, such vehicles are “too slow to think”, are not able to reliably process data from video cameras in the event of reflections, glare, and there are also questions about the safety of such driving in difficult weather conditions or in heavy traffic. At the same time, the human factor plays a major role in accidents of driven vehicles. Many accidents involve driver fatigue, distraction, or even falling asleep. At the same time, it is potentially possible to monitor the state of a person behind the wheel by a video sequence received from a camera installed in the car's interior and registering the driver's face in video sequence. In this paper, the existing databases of images of faces and eyes are considered, and an algorithm is presented that detects the state of closed eyes based on Haar detectors and convolutional neural networks.

Road surfaces degrade over time due to heavy traffic and weather conditions, which negatively influences both driving comfort and acoustic properties. In addition, the lifetime of a road surface can be increased by performing cost-effective incremental maintenance and this maintenance becomes more expensive when the damages are more severe (cracks, potholes). Current methods such as CPX are performed in a standardized way (using designated equipment and tightly controlled measurement conditions), however budget constraints limit frequent monitoring of surfaces. Therefore, continuous monitoring using ordinary passenger vehicles could be helpful to observe trends in rolling noise emissions and road evenness. Hence, we deployed designated sensor boxes in a number of vehicles that are on the road for other purposes. In addition, advances in calibration of different devices using de-noising autoencoders alleviate the effect of various measurement conditions such as driving speed, braking, accelerating, and temperature. As our innovative methodology has now been on the road for several years, trend analysis becomes possible.

Job satisfaction is an important factor for employees working in formal and informal sector. The job is small or big, permanent or temporary, risky or non-risky, job satisfaction is important. It is the mental feeling which drives the employees to excel. Job satisfaction is a combination of psychological, physiological and environmental circumstances. A satisfied employee is a contented and happy human being. The labour turnover depends upon job satisfaction. Even highly paid employees quit the job when they are not satisfied with the job. Road transportation in Tamilnadu is growing day by day. Job stress in the road transportation is very high due to increase in number of vehicle playing on the road and heavy traffic. The drivers and conductors working in public transport corporation are suffering from high job stress. If drivers and conductors are not satisfied with their job which leads to mental stresses and affects the productivity and also creates accidents. In this present study the researchers made an attempt to study the level of job satisfaction among the drivers and conductors who are working in the Tamilnadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC). The study reveals the expectations of drivers and conductors working in TNSTC with regards to the attributes like salary, promotion and fringe benefits etc., are satisfactory and not detrimental.

Introduction—Medical emergency vehicles help patients get to the hospital quickly. However, there were more and more ambulance crashes on the road in Taiwan during the last decade. This study investigated the characteristics of medical emergency vehicle crashes in Taiwan from January 2003 to December 2016. Methods—The ordered logit (OL) model, multinominal logit (MNL) model, and partial proportional odds (PPO) model were applied to investigate the relationship between the severity of ambulance crash injuries and its risk factors. Results—We found the various factors have different effects on the overall severity of ambulance crashes, such as ambulance drivers’ characteristics and road and weather conditions. When another car was involved in ambulance crashes, there was a disproportionate effect on the different overall severity, as found by the PPO model. Conclusions—The results showed that male ambulance drivers and car drivers who failed to yield to an ambulance had a higher risk of severe injury from ambulance crashes. Ambulance crashes are an emerging issue and need further policies and public education regarding Taiwan’s ambulance transportation safety.

The traffic controlling system in Bangladesh has not been updated enough with respect to fast improving technology. As a result, traffic rules violation detection and identification of the vehicle has become more difficult as the number of vehicles is increasing day by day. Moreover, controlling traffic is still manual. To solve this problem, the traffic controlling system can be digitalized by a system that consists of two major parts which are traffic rules violation detection and number plate recognition. In this research, these processes are done automatically which is based on machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision technology. Before starting this process, an object on the road is identified through the YOLOv3 algorithm. By using the OpenCV algorithm, traffic rules violation is detected and the vehicle that violated these rules is identified. To recognize the number plate of the vehicle, image acquisition, edge detection, segmentation of characters is done sequentially by using Convolution Neural Network (CNN) in MATLAB background. Among the traffic rules, the following traffic signal is implemented in this research.

Post World War II conservative thinking witnessed a marked shift in criticism away from capitalism itself and to the state. Cold War conservatives’ anti-communism led many on the right to perceive economic systems in stark terms as either purely capitalistic or on the road to communism.
