Manoranjan Sharma

While the issue of negotiation has long been considered important in a variety of individual, group, societal and cross-country settings, this issue has acquired greater significance of late. This paper examines differing schools of thought and brings into focus the kind of cross-cutting strategic research done in this area. It highlights the basic principles of negotiation techniques and identifies strategies and sequential stages for effective negotiation. An attempt is also made to look at common mistakes in negotiation and place matters in perspective.

Gilles Deleuze: the Concept of PhilosophyLaura Junutytė SummaryThe focus of this article lies on the concept of philosophy of Gilles Deleuze, mostly considered in the book What is Philosophy? The main purpose of the article was to extract the basic principles of the type of philosophy that shows its difference from the traditional concept of philosophy. The transformation of the concept of philosophy can be observed in the reversal of relation between transcendence and immanence as well as in the different kind of thought and the main purpose that it helds. It can also be seen in the different approach to reality, when reality is treated by means of experiment and not interpretation (this also denies philosophy’s pre-existent relation to truth). Eventually, the concept of philosophy is observed in the supposed heterogeneity of philosophy, since it always communicates with two different kinds of though, namely with art and science. So the nature of philosophy is defined as the inventing discipline and not the representing one. The main purpose of philosophy is to think over the conditions of the novelty and to invent the new perspectives. But it is possible only by appealing to the plane of immanence which generates our givenness. Keywords: philosophy, immanence, thought, experience, novelty.

The formalist groups which were active in Russia between the years 1913 and 1925 initiated the formalist method. This method has been shown to have had very significant consequences for the development of the humanities and to a certain degree also for the social sciences in the twentieth century. Although formalism was originally intended only as a method of research, it gave rise - even if indirectly and over many decades - to new conceptions in art and science as a whole. We will now examine the chief basic principles of Russian formalism as revealed in the sources of the period and we will look at its achievements from the vantage-point of more than a hundred years after it began.

This article presents some streamlined and intentionally oversimplified ideas about educating future communication disorders professionals to use some of the most basic principles of evidence-based practice. Working from a popular five-step approach, modifications are suggested that may make the ideas more accessible, and therefore more useful, for university faculty, other supervisors, and future professionals in speech-language pathology, audiology, and related fields.
