Purpose: to determine the ecological and toxicological state of various types of chernozems in Rostov region by the content of mobile forms of heavy metals. Materials and methods. The studies were carried out on irrigated areas of Semikarakorsky, Matveevo-Kurgansky, Neklinovsky, Salsky, Veselovsky districts of Rostov region. The soils were sampled in layers of 0–20, 20–40 cm and analyzed using the method of measuring the mass fraction of mobile forms of metals by atomic absorption. Results. The content of mobile forms of the determined metals (zinc, lead, cadmium, nickel, copper) was not found to be higher than the maximum permissible concentration (MPC). The rows of the determined metals were constructed according to their share of the MPC in the 0–20 cm layer, which showed that cadmium (from 0.2 to 0.4 MPC), lead (from 0.05 to 0.12 MPC) and nickel (from 0.04 to 0.17 MPC) are closer to MPC in all chernozems of the studied regions of Rostov region. Pollutants were found in the chernozems of Salsk region in the smallest amount, except for copper (0.09 MPC). The content of copper in soils 0.04–0.35 mg/kg indicates its low and stable distribution in the studied soils, except for Veselovsky district, where the analysis showed values below the detection limit, which may indicate a lack of copper as a trace element. According to the soil grouping for ecological and toxicological assessment by the content of mobile forms of heavy metals, they belong to the 1st group, i.e. the soils contain pollutants below the MPC and are suitable for the cultivation of all agricultural crops. Conclusions. The ecological and toxicological state of soils of the surveyed areas by the content of mobile forms of zinc, lead, nickel, cadmium and copper is assessed as satisfactory.

Toxicological assessment is a mandatory research step in the development of new insecticidal drugs. At the All-Russian Research Institute of Veterinary Entomology and Arachnology, a prototype of the insecticidal bait Mukhnet IF was obtained with an active ingredient content of 0.06% ivermectin and 0.015% fipronil, which showed a highly effective effect against houseflies. This work presents the results of the study of acute oral toxicity of the above agent. For this, male white mice with a live weight of 16-26 g were selected. They were kept on a starvation diet for one day in individual houses with water. The drug was given in mg/kg body weight the next day. A total of 33 doses have been tested, ranging from 100 mg/kg to 40,000 mg/kg. The animals were observed for 14 days. According to the research results, it was revealed that at doses up to 20,000 mg/kg there were no signs of intoxication, but when tested at 25,000 mg/kg in some mice, these signs were noted, and at 30,000, 35,000 and 40,000 mg/kg deaths were recorded 20±10, 45±30 and 60±20%, respectively. It was not possible to test the drug over the last above dose due to incomplete eaten by mice. According to the degree of danger for warm-blooded animals, the drug belongs to the 4th class of low-hazard drugs (average lethal dose of 5000 mg/kg or more) in accordance with the classification of GOST 12.1.007-76. When analyzing the literature data on the toxicological characteristics of preparations containing ivermectin and chlorfenapyr, it was revealed that the insecticidal agent in its acute toxicity for warm-blooded animals is comparable to known analogues.

The hydrological regime of water reservoirs in different years has a decisive impact on the abundance of commercial fish stocks and the quality of ichthyocenoses. In this connection in 2015-2016 there was conducted a retrospective analysis and ranking of hydrological regime impact on these factors. The paper gives evaluation of catches and fish stocks under different scenarios of water availability in the main fishing ponds of the Republic of Kazakhstan that give about 80% of the annual fish catch of the country (except the Caspian Sea). There were analyzed 2000 factors of hydrological regime (water level, annual discharge) and 1845 factors of fishing stocks (catches, abundance, fish biomass). The paper determines the critical characteristics of water availability for fish stocks. There have been proposed a number of administrative decisions and actions in case if water content would approach to the critical level. Among them: limitation of fish catches in the following year; widening zones restricted for fishing; intensification of safety measures of the fish young in residual ponds during arid periods; introduction of catch standards for a unit of fishing effort in low-water years, high-water years and years with normal water level in rivers.
