In order to achieve semantic retrieval for scientific research information in WWW, this paper applies an ontology-based framework to information retrieval system for management information system. After analyze the limitations of traditional method, bring a semantic search forward, and mainly introduce the thought of the semantic retrieval as well as the way to constitute ontology entity and the language that describes it. Moreover, semantic retrieval system based on ontology is also given. The application to retrieve project information shows that the framework can overcome the localization of other ontology’s models, and this research facilitates the semantic retrieval of management information through semantic retrieval concepts on the Semantic Web.

This is an information system application called Electronic-College Management and Information System (ECMIS) which is useful for staff, faculty, and principal to deal with all information about student details, academic related reports, college details, course details, batch details and other related details. This is user friendly and easy to use system. All the important data are stored in the database and it avoids any miscalculation. It replaces the old and traditional file (paperwork) storing process; it even provides editing facilities for data which would be tedious through paperwork. It eliminates manual work (Manual system does not mean that we are working with pen and paper, it also includes working on spreadsheets and other simple software's). With this we can retrieve student‘s information instantly. The major benefit of this web portal is to store the student‘s information in one place and can be accessed easily. This is a software application which is responsive in nature.

BACKGROUND The knowledge of cancer burden in the population, its time trends and the possibility of international comparison is an important starting point for cancer programmes. A reliable interactive tool describing cancer epidemiology in children and adolescents has been non-existent in the Czech Republic until recently. OBJECTIVE The goal of this study was to develop a new web portal entitled the Czech Childhood Cancer Information System (CCCIS), which would provide information on childhood cancer epidemiology in the Czech Republic. METHODS Data on childhood cancers have been obtained from the Czech National Cancer Registry. These data were validated using the clinical database of childhood cancer patients and subsequently combined with data from the National Register of Hospitalised Patients and with data from death certificates. These validated data were then used to determine incidence and survival rates of childhood cancer patients aged 0–19 years who were diagnosed in the period 1994–2016. Data from death certificates were used to monitor long-term mortality trends. The technical solution is based on the robust PHP development Symfony framework, with the PostgreSQL system used to accommodate the data basis. RESULTS The web portal is available for anyone at https://ccc-is.uzis.cz/index-en.php, providing basic information for experts (i.e. analyses and publications) on individual diagnostic groups of childhood cancers. It involves an interactive tool for analytical reporting, which provides information on the following basic topics in the form of graphs or tables: incidence, mortality and overall survival. Feedback was obtained and the accuracy of outputs published on the CCCIS portal was verified using the following methods: the validation of theoretical background and the user testing. CONCLUSIONS The software is capable of processing data from multiple sources, is freely available to all users and makes it possible to carry out automated analyses even for users without mathematical background: a simple selection of a topic to be analysed is required from the user.

The academic information system is an important system to supports lecture activities. Is used by almost all elements in the university, both students, lecturers, staff and leaders. This research uses Heuristic Evaluation as an inference method to assess the components of learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction. for various cases, such as designing academic and corporate websites with reference to these problems, it is necessary to evaluate the usability of STMIK Amik Riau information system. STMIK Amik Riau implements an integrated information system to support fast and real-time information management processes of STMIK Amik Riau information system includes various services such as E-KRS, E-KTM, E-EDOM, and other information. The aim is to identify problems related to the usability of the website. The data collection method in this research was carried out using questionnaire, containing a list of questions distributed via google form to respondents, its about 100 students of STMIK Amik Riau. Based on the analysis conducted using the Heuristic Evaluation method, the evaluation results of STMIK Amik Riau web portal have met the usability criteria with an average of 78.71915% where P > 60% and provides user satisfaction in accessing STMIK Amik Riau web portal. STMIK Amik Riau's web interface design is quite good. These results are based on the results of Likert scale score which states that the respondents agree.

The author describes his experience with students interacting with some websites he made for didactics and research and how this led him to an appreciation for the need for better searching tools and strategies for education. The students’ difficulties emerging from the above observations were a special case of the more general problem evidenced from people while searching information on the web. Semantic web is then discussed as a way to help people overcome their difficulties in using the web to gain knowledge. The paper describes some models for knowledge construction and analyzes them in terms of their suitability as instruments for the introduction of semantics on the web. The paper then provides evidence regarding some limits for the systematic use of semantic search engine and ontology domain systems in everyday teaching and knowledge construction. Finally, the paper reports and explains a hypothesis of an information system for building communities of practice and letting them work on the construction of domain ontology. The paper concludes that this construct is well adapted to the model for knowledge construction firstly hypothesized, and can give good results in teaching-learning planning and carrying out and in helping scientists and scholars to analyze scientific paradigms and to find new trends for research.

This chapter presents the TeamNet analytical tools and methodology that was created in the framework of the international EUREKA project. TeamNet presents a new approach to the evaluation of the project and working teams. New web-based information system and new methodology were developed. The system is capable of providing online analysis of the efficiency of a team and its members. Specific psychodiagnostic tools (such as the colour association method) were used for a powerful analysis of the interaction characteristics of the team to maximize the objectivity of results. Web portal for total support of the diagnostic is presented at www.hrteamnet.cz. The whole team diagnostic is realized online and the team and individual results are immediately available. The system can significantly help the project and personal managers to create high-efficiency project teams.

Background of the study: The web portal is a tool that has been adopted by universities to manage data and information of students and faculty. The portal is an information system as it is driven by information.Purpose: The study proposes a model of students’ satisfaction with Web portal for the integration of Information System Success Model ISSM and Davis’ Technology Acceptance Model (TAM).Method: The methodology adopted for this study is the critical review of literature that borders on the constructs and/or variables embedded in ISSM and TAM.Findings: The study theorizes that information quality, service quality and system quality and perceived usefulness individually determine students’ satisfaction of a Web portal. The study also predicts that all of these variables compositely determine the students’ satisfaction of university Web.Conclusion: The study established that the “mandatory use” of Web portal does not primarily translate to students’ satisfaction with the portal. This is because whether users are satisfied or not, the onus is still on them to come back to use the portal.
