Undifferentiated mesenchymal (UM) cells, the progenitor cells of the cartilage layer, have been assigned a significant role in TMJ articular tissue maintenance. This was based on reports of UM cell reduction with increased soft-tissue thickness for the condyle and temporal component. However, the strength of this inverse relationship was not presented and remained unclear. The purpose of the present study was to assess the strength of the correlation between UM cell presence and soft-tissue thickness in young adult TMJs at autopsy. Sagittal histological sections from the central thirds of 50 joints were evaluated with respect to articular soft-tissue thickness, histological character, and UM cell presence in the condyle and temporal component. The superior sector ofthe condyle and the articular eminence showed the greatest variability in soft-tissue thickness and were the only areas to show localized UM cell absence. The eminence was the only location to show an inverse relationship between soft-tissue thickness and UM cell presence, and this was consistent in both an ANOVA (p = 0.0016) and a Spearman correlation analysis. However, the strength of this correlation was only moderate (rho = -0.52), and no such relationship was observed in any other location. This study suggests that the relationship between UM cell presence and soft-tissue thickness is more complex than previously hypothesized and that the contribution of UM cells to articular tissue maintenance has been overstated, while other biological processes were overlooked.

We present a rare case of a lipoleiomyoma which was discovered incidentally in a hysterectomy specimen of a 74-year old female patient who underwent surgery for a biopsy proven serous adenocarcinoma of the uterus. Lipoleiomyomas represent uncommon, usually benign soft-tissue tumors, generally found in obese menopausal as well as postmenopausal women aged 50 to 70 years. The reported incidence varies from 0.03\% to 0.2\%. The relationship between lipoleiomyomas and gynecologic malignancies has only been reported in a few cases. We report this case of lipoleiomyoma due to its rarity and its association with a serous adenocarcinoma in our patient.

Dissection of the hand of an eight-year-old female cadaver was performed to determine the relationship of tendon and ligament insertions to the growth plates. These soft tissue attachments can influence the fracture patterns noted in children.

ABSTRACT The waters of Semarang Bay are the northern coast of Java which stretches from Kendal Regency to Demak Regency. These waters are near the port of Tanjung Mas and settlements, various industries, so that it is potentially polluted by various types of waste. One type of waste is heavy metal. The scallop is a biota filter feeder and sessile, so that heavy metals in the water will accumulate in the sediment and body of the shell through the food chain. Osmoregulation is an attempt by aquatic animals to control the balance of ions in the body and its environment. This is the reason the research was carried out to determine the concentration of Cd metal in scallops and sediments in the waters of Semarang Bay and their effect on the level of osmotic work. The method used is descriptive and correlation methods by determining the sampling location using purposive sampling method. The study was conducted in May 2019. The results showed the concentration of Cd  in soft tissue of scallop shells in Semarang Bay waters was <0.00001 mg / kg. This indicates that the Cd metal contained in the scallop is so small that it is not detected by the tool. Cd metal in sediments in the waters of Semarang Bay each station has an average value : 82.2057; 58,4483; 68.0787 mg / kg. The relationship of Cd metal in sediments with hemolymph osmolarity of scallops showed a positive linear relationship with an R2 of 0.259, which means a low level of closeness. The relationship of Cd metal on sediment and osmotic work rate has a negative linear relationship with R2 value of 0.236, which means a low level of closeness.
