Globalisation requires from companies greater flexibility and adaptability of its internal processes, to allow them be aligned to market requirements. This flexibility results in new forms of relationships between partners, supply chains. For these chains differentiate themselves from their competitors, they should add value to products and services that they deliver to the end customer, while being profitable from the standpoint of its processes and operations. In this sense, would be needed effective supply chain management, which is constituted by collaboration and cooperation among partners, strategic and processes integration, to result in a profitable operation, and products and services with added value to the customer. Additionally, because logistics is a key element for the integration and collaboration among SC members, and due the fact that, depending of the scope of these chains, there are potentially more risks happening, which may have negative impacts on the customer service level, and consequently, loss of effectiveness of their logistics processes. This study aims to analyze the risks in a product distribution process in the Brazilian automotive sector, considering the operations performed by a logistics operator of this automaker.
Keywords: Automotive Industry; Logistics Operator; Supply Chain; Supply Chain Management; Risks Management.

Over the past few years, the importance of improving the product distribution structure has increased worldwide. Therefore, distribution prices are now disclosed and product information is shared with consumers. However, distribution channels are complex and supply chain management (SCM) is autonomously executed in each company. For this reason, it has been frequently pointed out that the distribution process is not transparent and the distribution margin is high. In this paper, we propose a system that guarantees the transparency of the product distribution structure by applying blockchain and smart contracts to the price-tracking portion of supply chain management systems. This approach allows companies to track their trades by enhancing transparency in the SCM, thereby discouraging companies from pursuing excessive profits. In addition, companies can cut management costs by automatically storing distribution details in a blockchain network and managing information more securely.

This case study has been developed to facilitate discussion about current supply chain management issues and potential solutions. The scenario presented in this case is very representative of the pressures experienced by supply chain managers. Namely, the need to reduce costs while maintaining quality and customer service. This case presents some unusual challenges and constraints that are unique to the cruise line industry. These constraints can provide an opportunity to explore new supply chain paradigms.

Inventory management remains a key challenge in supply chain management. Many companies recognize the benefits of a good inventory management system. An effective inventory management helps reaching a high customer service level while dealing with demand variability. In a complex supply chain network where inventories are found across the entire system as raw materials or finished products, the need for an integrated approach for managing inventory had become crucial. Modelling the system as a multi-echelon inventory system allows to consider all the factors related to inventory optimization. On the other hand, the high criticality of the pharmaceutical products makes the need for a sophisticated supply chain inventory management essential. The implementation of the multi-echelon inventory management in such supply chains helps keeping the stock of pharmaceutical products available at the different installations. This paper provides an insight into the multi-echelon inventory management problem, especially in the pharmaceutical supply chain. A classification of several multi-echelon inventory systems according to a set of criteria is provided. A synthesis of multiple multi-echelon pharmaceutical supply chain problems is elaborated.

The fast-growing number of Halal integrity issues has attracted the scholar's debate on improving integrity in practicing the Halal supply chain. To investigate how firms comply with Halal procedures in supply chain may not possibly provide much potential research gaps. The application of technology in improving Halal supply chain management on blockchain technology should be given urgent priority. The aim of this chapter is to explore the possibility to integrate blockchain technology to improve the use of Halal supply chain management. Blockchain technology will help the Halal based oriented firm in the supply chain to trace the source of the raw materials, products, labeling information, and Halal product distribution to strengthen the supply chain networks. Blockchain technology-driven Halal supply chain shall overcome and surpass issues related to Halal integrity and certifications which could also have an impact globally.

Abstract— The supply chain management of the coconut industry in the Sula Islands district is still felt to be ineffective and inefficient. The advantage of effective supply chain management is to get maximum speed when goods and services move through the supply chain channel, lower costs, and increase added value for customers and product competitiveness in the market. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the management of the coconut industry supply chain. The method used is descriptive qualitative analysis. Those who play a role in the coconut supply chain in the Sula Islands district are farmers, collectors I, collectors II, owners of home industries, transport vehicle owners and marine vessels as modes of transportation. With this supply chain channel, there are only a few benefits for farmers and business operators. The added value of coconut and copra is very small, meaning that the economic value obtained is very small. To provide greater economic value for residents of the Sula Islands district, especially for coconut farmers and coconut entrepreneurs, so coconut fruit must be processed not only until copra, but made in industrial scale coconut oil. Keywords— Supply Chain; Coconut; Industry; Coconut oil; Sula Islands Regency.
