Objectives: we investigated on the degree of homogeneity in the employment of some working tools among primary care paediatricians working in the province of Bergamo. Methods: through the compilation of an online questionnaire, we retrospectively evaluated data recorded from February 24 to May 3 2019, by 85 paediatricians. Results: the data analysis showed a larger employment of point of care testing for paediatricians relying on nurses activity (p=0.03), and a lower number of outpatient visits for paediatricians without office staff (p=0.06). A rough doubling in heterogeneity was assessed in the employment of point of care testing when compared to the other working tools (coefficient of variation 0.66 vs. 0.27-0.37). Conclusions: these data address to the worthiness of shared procedures referring to the employment of working tools in paediatric primary care.

»Point-of-Care« D-Dimer TestingD-dimer testing is efficient in the exclusion of venous thromboembolism (VTE). D-dimer laboratory assays are predominantly performed in centralised laboratories in intra-hospital settings although most patients with suspected VTE are presented in primary care. On the other hand decreasing turnaround time for laboratory testing may significantly improve efficacy in emergency departments. Therefore an introduction of a rapid, easy to perform point of care (POC) assay for the identification of D-dimer may offer improvement in diagnostics flow of VTE both in primary care and emergency departments while it could also improve our diagnostic possibilities in some other severe clinical conditions (e.g. disseminated intra-vascular coagulation (DIC) and aortic aneurism (AA)) associated with increased D-dimer. Several POC D-dimer assays have been evaluated and majority of them have met the criteria for rapid and safe exclusion of VTE. In our hands three assays (Stratus, Pathfast and Cardiac) have the laboratory performance profile comparable with our routine D-dimer laboratory assay (Tinaqaunt).

Acute cough is one of the most common illnesses in the UK, with an estimated 48 million cases per annum. The majority of these presentations are thought to be of viral aetiology and self-limiting in nature, yet some studies report antibiotic prescription rates of approximately 65% in the UK. Clincians' decision-making process can be influenced by both patient expectations and difficulty in differentiating between viral and bacterial aetiologies by clinical examination alone. This article will consider the feasibility, efficacy, benefits and limitations of using point-of-care testing of C-reactive protein within primary care in the United Kingdom to help inform management of acute cough.

The objective of this research focuses on students perceptions toward grammar in the English classroom. This research uses the qualitative descriptive method, the procedure for collecting data uses questionnaire analysis in google forms free online questionnaire. The population is 30 students in class TEI C at SMK TI Pembangunan Cimahi. The sample is 30 students. The results of the data analysis showed that 60% of students stongly agree that grammar in the English classroom important, while the other 40% agree. In addition 96% of students admit that their need to increase English grammar. The most dominant of students perceptions grammar showed to increase skills on grammar 96% of students choose to agree on statements. The findings revealed that students perceived differently toward grammar in the English classroom.CeivedKeywords: Students Perceptions, Grammar English.

Abstract Background Point-of-care testing (POCT) continues to expand worldwide. Concerns remain about result quality despite guidelines and standards that specify testing practices. To better understand POCT testing worldwide, we polled analysts to obtain their views on actual practices and needs for improvement. Methods An online questionnaire was constructed on SurveyMonkey, a commercially available website for conducting such surveys. POCT analysts were sought worldwide from a pool of healthcare providers subscribed to a westgard.com newsletter or visitors to westgard.com and/or LinkedIn to one of the authors. Results Seventy-three percent of testing occurred in hospitals with 64% conducted in specialty settings. Regulatory mandates were followed by 88%. For most, less than 100 tests were performed per day fewer less than 25 devices. Nurses top the list of analysts. All but 5% of analysts received some form of training primarily from manufacturers. Eighty-seven percent verified devices/methods prior to implementation. Five percent do not perform daily QC; all analyzed external QC at least once per month. When QC limits exceed acceptable limits, 92% stop testing. Expired materials were used by 5%. The majority collected data for quality improvements. Eleven percent thought their organization’s POCT is acceptable. The majority of respondents believe improvements need to be made in POCT. Conclusions Analysts' POCT practices have and are improving to contribute positively to patients’ healthcare and safety. Analysts do recognize problems and their wants/needs provide important information to improve their practices. Most participants desire more in-house and/or manufacturer training, explicit directions from manufacturers, manufacturer built-in quality and function checks, and oversight.
