The purpose of this study is to measure the determinants influence on green purchase intention among young consumers in University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Based on the prior studies, the study identified determinants of green purchase intention such as environmental knowledge, environmental attitude, government initiative, green advertising and price. A quantitative study was conducted to address the research objectives. The survey was done among young consumers in University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The used sample method was convenient sample collection. Primary data were gathered through a questionnaire and evaluate the questionnaire through five-point likert scale. There were 254 usable questionnaires from undergraduates of University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The data was analyzed using IBM SPSS statistics 23. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis were used to evaluate the gathered data. Five hypotheses were developed to conduct this research and those were tested using Spearman’s Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of the research indicated that price has the much significant influence on green purchase intention among young consumers in Sri Lanka. Also environmental attitude and government initiative have significant influence on green purchase intention among young consumers in Sri Lanka. In contrast, environmental knowledge and green advertising have no significant influence on green purchase intention.

Research findings on buying behaviour towards organic food product are still inconsistent. Therefore, this study aims to examine a significant relationship between environmental consciousness, health consciousness and social influence and young consumers’ purchase intention towards organic food product. The total of 150 questionnaires was designed and distributed at the public area of Kerteh, Terengganu. In return only 140 questionnaires were returned and usable. The result of the analysis showed that environmental consciousness is the most significant factor to influence young consumer purchase intention towards organic food product. Health consciousness and social influence on the other hand, showed a result as have no significant relationship in determined a factor that influencing young consumer purchased intention towards organic food product. In these relations, marketer and future researchers should see the important factor to explore the opportunities to cater for this market segment in future.

This research reveals the factors explaining the purchase intention toward green products among young consumers. Young consumers are beginner consumers who are going to play an important role to take a responsibility in preserving the environment. Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) is selected as the main theoretical framework in this research alongside some other variables (environmental concern, environmental knowledge, and willingness to pay), which are added in the research model to expand TPB application. Three hundred and twenty-six respondents were interviewed through a survey and the data are analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).The findings illustrated that not every explanatory variable influenced the purchase intention toward green products among young consumers. Environmental concern and attitude did not influence the purchase intention toward green products among young consumers.

As environment become a prominent issue throughout the world, consumer behaviour significantly changed and adapted to be more sustainable. This interest around environment has led to aspiring business opportunities of green product or environmentally friendly product. Firms started to produce green product as a way to remain competitive in the market. With the number of green product increased, there’s a skeptical believe that companies started to present misleading and false information about their green product to merely boost profit or reputation. This consumers’ believe is alarming to firms as it is considered to detriment consumer’s purchase intention. In addition, young generation are more likely to be open to new information and are considered as potential environmentally friendly product consumers. Alongside with green skepticism, two most - studied indicators of green purchase intention notably environmental knowledge and environmental concern were analysed on young consumers’ green purchase intention. Research was conducted using quantitative approach to 403 Generation Z respondents and analysed using Partial Least Square (PLS) – SEM method. The result of this research shows that green skepticism has insignificant negative influence on green purchase intention while both environmental knowledge and environmental concern have positive and significant influence on green purchase intention. These findings might be useful for companies to understand the green purchase behaviour among young consumers and better developed their marketing strategies.

This research aims to find a structural equation model that can explain the relationship and influence of the environmental concern and Environmental Knowledge to green trust and green purchase intention towards green product. This study is a survey research using questionnaires as an instrument. Population and sample used in this study is public of South Kalimantan Province and taken as many as 150 respondents using non-purposivesampling method. The analysis technique used are : the instruments test, the construct validity and reliability test, the suitability of the model based on the goodness of fit index, pathways analysis and the Influence test according to the model of SEM that complies with the goodness of fit index to determine the effect of variable perception value and risk to public trust. The focus in this study is on the effect on Chinese consumers’ intention to purchase proenvironmental products of 3 types of marketing information: environmental knowledge relating to a product, information about corporate social responsibility, and descriptive norms about environmental protection. I also examined the impact of social presence on the consumers’ intention to purchase. I conducted 2 laboratory experiments with 723 participants and findings indicate that each of the 3 kinds of marketing information and social presence had a significantly positive effect on participants’ purchase intention, and the effect of marketing information on corporate social responsibility and environmental knowledge was weakened when consumers made the decision with social presence. The findings expand research on marketing information of proenvironmental products and provide insight into the effect of social presence. Suggestions are made for the government and manufacturing managers that may increase Chinese consumer purchase of proenvironmental products.

Based on the theory of customer perceived value, this paper makes an empirical analysis on the purchase intention of community fresh O2O, and proposes the customer perceived value concept including result, program, service, social and emotional value. At the same time, the intermediary variable of consumption attitude is put forward and the theoretical model constructed. It is verified that perceived value significantly influences purchase intention and consumption attitude, and plays an intermediary role between them by regression analysis method. This detailed study on the mechanism of perceived value influencing purchase intention through consumption attitude is of great guidance value.

PurposeThe role of mindfulness in influencing green behaviors has been recognized in literature though it has not been explored sufficiently in the context of organic food. This study makes an attempt to explore the role of mindfulness in influencing young consumers' purchase intention (PI) toward organic food in India.Design/methodology/approachA total of 348 useable responses were collected through an intercept survey at organic food stores using a purposive sampling approach. Data analysis was carried out through structural equation modeling.FindingsMindfulness emerged as a significant predictor of behavioral intention. Further, the specific indirect effects of mindfulness through attitude, perceived behavioral control (PBC), drive for environmental responsibility (DER) and label reference willingness (LRW) were also significant.Originality/valueThis research is one of the initial efforts to link mindfulness with PI for organic food. The results could help the government and marketers tap onto the potential of mindfulness with regard to environment-friendly products and frame appropriate strategies for stimulating the demand for organic food in India

PurposeThe study intends to investigate the key purchase drivers of luxury brands in India. Given that a major segment of this target audience is the young consumers, the study focuses on determining these antecedents of luxury purchase from a young Indian consumer lens.Design/methodology/approachThe study uses an interpretive research position, employing qualitative techniques in the form of in-depth interviews. In total, 62 respondents were interviewed, and later the transcribed interviews were analyzed using content analysis.FindingsThe study identifies the three main value dimensions that contribute to the final purchase decision: functional, social and emotional. The study also highlights the importance of Internet and web for luxury brands and how young Indian consumer consumes luxury online.Originality/valueResearch on luxury brands is still at a nascent stage. Though variables such as economic value, brand origin, social identity, prestige, self-congruity and so on have been examined in the context of luxury brands in prior studies. However, these studies are restricted because either they were product-specific or actual users of luxury brands were not approached as the sample. Most importantly none of these studies reflect the purchase behavior of young consumers in an emerging market, especially India. Given the growth of luxury brands in India, it would be worthwhile to investigate the factors influencing the customer purchase intention of luxury brands in emerging markets.
