This article reports on the validity of the Multiple-Mini-Interview (MMI) method as it was used by a post-degree teacher education program as part of their admissions process to select candidates for entry into the program. The MMI, primarily used for medical school admittance, involves several stations with different interviewers. Comparisons were made between the MMI, other intake variables, and outtake measures. Quantitative analyses also examined possible interviewer, station, gender, and heritage effects. Results support the claim that the MMI can be used to measure dispositions not measured by other intake variables; however, some concerns did emerge. Keywords: multiple-mini-interview, teacher education, admission processes, higher education

The chapter explores the way technologies in higher education are providing teacher education candidates a new view of learning. An explanation of how e-portfolios are becoming more common tools for students to reflect on their practices and showcase course artifacts for future applications. The chapter highlights selected learning management systems (LMS), Blackboard and Canvas, and describes how their e-portfolio features aids the reflective practices of students in a teacher education program. Examples of e-portfolio artifacts are provided using these systems. Discussion on how they compare with other e-portfolio resources, Digication and Taskstream, is included to help guide programs to the best tool for their programs. By exploring how these e-portfolio technologies are currently being used in a teacher education course, this chapter provides insight to viewing teacher development for other teacher education courses and programs through more consistent and intentional use of e-portfolios.

ABSTRACT This descriptive research study assessed the status of the implementation of the Bachelor of Technical Teacher Education program (BTTE) of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) as basis for enhancement. Descriptive type of research method was used in the study with 104 respondents. Primary data were gathered through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and secondary data were sourced from records. This study was delimited to the BTTE program implemented from Ladder I to Ladder III only. Results revealed that the curriculum offered by this college was above the minimum requirements prescribed by Commission on Higher Education (CHED). The BTTE program was administered by a highly qualified department dean. The college has a modern food laboratory facility; however, the books and journals in the library are not sufficient for BTTE students. The questionnaire is the main instrument in this study. The classrooms are also considered a problem during the program implementation. The college encountered a very fast turn out of faculty handling major subjects during the first two years of implementation. The result of TESDA assessment for the major competencies was low; the Raagas 5-point scale was adopted to determine the competencies of the students. Further results revealed complaints on major subjects, which require students to buy ingredients or materials for their laboratory activities was also low. The Strategic Development Plan of CSPC (2015- 2018) is the reference in creating the strategic development plan of the BTTE program
