The aim of this article is to define important factors which determine the quality of the business environment and construct a structural model of causal relationships between quality of business environment and its determinants in small and medium sized enterprises. This model was constructed on the basis of extensive empirical research. A questionnaire was designed and delivered to SMEs operating in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The sample consists of 641 enterprises from both countries. Data were evaluated using statistical methods such as confirmation factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The structural model showed very interesting findings. The most important factors, which determine the quality of business environment are macroeconomic environment, monetary policy and interest rates and legal environment. In our model, we also pointed out the importance of political, social and technological factors. The research results pointed to the need to adjust the legislative environment in a more appropriate way, to minimize state bureaucracy and to improve media access to business environment assessment. These results are useful for the academic researchers in the area of entrepreneurship, policymakers, and non-profit institutions and organizations whose effort is to improve the business environment and boost entrepreneurship.

The student recreation center (SRC) promotes quality of life among college students. Grounded in self-determination theory, this study examined the relationship between SRC use and subjective vitality using a sample of 540 students at a large state university in the United States. Results of structural equation modeling indicated that use of fitness and group sport facilities both had a positive relationship with subjective vitality, which were mediated by competence need satisfaction, relatedness need satisfaction, and perception of physical health. Implications of the study findings were discussed.

Abstract. This study aims to prove the influence of organizational culture, usercompetence and internal control to the quality of Regional Financial ManagementInformation Sistem (abbreviation=SIPKD), and to also prove the quality of SIPKDrelationship to the quality of accounting information. Survey in Garut local governmentas many as 75 of SIPKD users. Data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) with Partial Least Square approach (PLS). The SEM PLS consists of twoevaluation; inner model and structural model. The result of the research indicate thatthere is an effect of internal control on the creation of quality SIPKD, and qualitySIPKD can influence the creation of quality accounting information. While theorganization culture and user competence is not proven to influence the creation ofquality SIPKD. Research implications can solve the problem of accounting informationsistems, especially in the local government of Garut.

Today’s rapidly changing business environment has impelled companies to cooperate with their competitors gaining more competitive advantages by achieving win-win situation. Thereby, building alliances as one of the cooperative strategies has been adopted by many enterprises, consequently attracting great attention of numerous scholars. Nevertheless, the alliance literature seems to lack studies in the domain of entrepreneurship. Accordingly, this paper aims to extend entrepreneurship into the field of alliances highlighting two phenomenal concepts: alliance entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial orientation. Hence, the relationship between these two constructs together with the mediating role of knowledge transfer between alliance partners are investigated. We used Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM) technique under two sections of measurement model and structural model assessment in order to analyze data. The results gathered from Iran’s automotive industry confirmed the positive significant impact of alliance entrepreneurship on partners’ entrepreneurial orientation and the mediating effect of knowledge transfer

The main aim of this study is to explore the impact of the dimensions of Umrah service quality on customer satisfaction for Umrah and customer loyalty for Umrah in the travel industry. Increasingly intense competition and structural shifts in the business environment are now pushing companies to adopt a customer-focused strategy that elevates the value of customer-related constructs such as customer satisfaction, quality of service, and consumer loyalty in describing the success of a company. Umrah service efficiency, Umrah customer satisfaction, and Umrah customer loyalty were calculated from the literature using a 5-point Likert scale. Structural equation modeling was carried out to analyze the impact of Umrah service quality on customer satisfaction in Umrah and customer loyalty in Umrah. The result showed that all dimensions of service quality influenced customer satisfaction and loyalty of Umrah's customers. The study's key drawback is that it was confined only to the Malaysian nation. Second, the present study only focuses on the traveling industry in Umrah. The results clearly indicate the dimensions of the quality of Umrah service that the practitioners must concentrate on in order to provide a better quality of service.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of technology on organizational performance of private higher learning institutions (HLIs) in Malaysia and to determine the area of focus for private HLIs in Malaysia. Design/methodology/approach Data collection was carried out over two months through an online self-administered questionnaire and yielded 155 samples. Subsequently, the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the reflective measurement model and the structural model for validity, reliability and hypotheses, respectively. Findings This paper discovered that between the two constructs of technology tested (technology management and technology usage), only technology management influenced organizational performance. Originality/value As Industry 4.0 is disrupting the existing business environment, inquiring into the influence of technology is of critical importance for the organizational performance of private HLIs in Malaysia. This paper provides a different perspective of how technology affects the overall organizational performance of private HLIs which differs from past studies which focused more on the effects of technology on individuals such as teachers/instructors and learners.

This paper aims to investigate the influence of education and research quality provided by local educational institutions on the innovative adoption of information and communication technology (ICT) by the workforce in Saudi Arabia. The study tests whether this influence is mediated by domestic competition and/or the level of ICT penetration. A model was developed and tested using data collected from 119 CEOs of foreign companies in diverse local business sectors. The data is analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results showed that educational quality exhibited a lesser contribution to the ICT adoption compared to research quality. These results are analyzed in terms of business environment, market constraints and pedagogical approaches in schools and universities.

Taiwan's Government web portal has been the sole communication link between citizens and E-Government since being launched in 2002 to provide citizens with government-related information promptly via effective classification. The assessment of the service quality and citizens' satisfaction with E-Government has rarely been explored. The present study explored how the service quality of E-Govemment subsequently affects the users' psychological and behavioral responses. A structural model was proposed that contained four constructs: service quality, service value, users' satisfaction, and behavioral intention as well as their interrelations. A survey was used to collect users' ratings. Structural equation modeling was applied to verify the factor analysis of the obtained data and fit of a model. Analyses indicated adequate fit of model as follows: E-Government service quality → service value → users' satisfaction → behavioral intention.

The principal’s role as a leader is crucial in improving the teacher performance and student achievement. However, it still remains unknown what kinds of school leadership behaviors that are effective to improve teacher performance and student achievement. This study aims to determine the level of significance of the effect of (1) the quality of principal's leadership behaviors on teacher performance, (2) the quality of principal's leadership behaviors on student achievement, and (3) the teacher performance on student achievement.This study is a quantitative descriptive research. The study population was 317 teachers with 281 teachers as the samples. The data collection technique was carried out through questionnaires, participant observation, and teacher performance appraisals. The data analysis technique used the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of this study showed a significant (5%) influence between: (1) the quality of the principal's leadership behaviors on the teacher performance where the estimated rate was 0.89 with the value of -t = 3.23> 1.96. The higher the quality of the principal's leadership behaviors had become, then it increased the quality of the teachers’ performance; (2) the quality of the principal's leadership behaviors on the level of student achievement where the estimated rate was 0.77 with the value of -t = 2.86> 1.96; and (3) the level of teacher performance on the level of learning achievement where the estimated rate was 0.92 with the value of -t = 4.45> 1.96. The structural model of learning outcomes showed that the loading factor of report cards had a greater effect of 0.995 when it compared to the school exam scores with an effect of 0.897. Effective principal leadership behaviors were limited to (a) the relationship between leaders and followers, (b) task structure, and (c) position power.

Although customization plays a significant role in the provision of software as a service (SaaS), delivering a customizable SaaS application that reflects the tenant’s specific requirements with acceptable level of quality is a challenge. Drawing on a pr-developed software customization model for SaaS quality, two fundamental objectives of this study were to determine whether different software customization approaches have direct impacts on SaaS quality, and also to assess the construct reliability and construct validity of the model. A questionnaire-based survey was used to collect data from 244 software professionals with experience in SaaS development. Structural equation modeling was employed to test the construct reliability, construct validity, and research hypotheses. The measurement model assessment suggested that the six-construct model with 39 items exhibited good construct reliability and construct validity. The findings of the structural model assessment show that all customization approaches other than the integration approach significantly influence the quality of SaaS applications. The findings also indicate that both configuration and composition approaches have positive impacts on SaaS quality, while the impacts of the other approaches are negative. The empirical assessment and evaluation of this model, which features a rich set of information, provides considerable benefits to both researchers and practitioners.

The present paper reexamines the psychometric properties of the Quality Perception Questionnaire (QPQ), an Italian survey instrument measuring patients’ perceptions of the quality of a recent hospital admission experience, in a sample of 4400 patients (Mage = 56.42 years; SD = 19.71 years, 48.8% females). The 14-item survey measures four factors: satisfaction with medical doctors, nursing staff, auxiliary staff, and hospital structures. First, we tested two models using a confirmatory factor analysis (structural equation modeling): a four orthogonal factor and a four oblique factor model. The SEM fit indices and the χ² difference suggested the acceptance of the second model. We then did a simulation using a bootstrap with 1000 replications. Results confirmed the four oblique factor solution. Third, we tested whether there were significant differences with respect to age or sex. The multivariate general linear model showed no significant differences in the factors with respect to sex or age.
