Terrorist activities as a negative social phenomenon have been present to a large extent lately, and for that reason, every country strives to develop the best approach in terms of its prevention and suppression. This is understandable, especially given the growing presence of violent extremism and radicalization leading to terrorism. This paper addresses the ways and capacities Serbia uses to fight terrorism. A detailed analysis and review of existing resources, primarily strategic documents, legislation and entities involved in the fight against terrorism, clearly shows that Serbia has significant capacities in this context.

There are numerous examples where political and religious contradictions have caused deep social crisis and disintegration of the state. It is true that the world is marked by new waves of violent extremism, radicalism and terrorism in the background of which are hidden religious, ethnic and ideological reasons. In reality, the reasons and activities of these groups are opposite to democratic and liberal values of tolerance and multiculturalism. Radicalisation leading to terrorism is a dynamic process in which a person is brought into a situation to accept terrorist violence as possible and justified actions of individuals and groups. The main goal of such violent actions is the achievement of political or religious objectives of such groups or individuals. The aim of this paper is to summarise the reasons that lead the individual to take the road of radicalisation, terrorism and extremism. Another aim of the paper is description and treatment of the ways of reacting of international community and individual states in prevention and fighting of extremism and terrorist activities.

AbstractWhitehouse adapts insights from evolutionary anthropology to interpret extreme self-sacrifice through the concept of identity fusion. The model neglects the role of normative systems in shaping behaviors, especially in relation to violent extremism. In peaceful groups, increasing fusion will actually decrease extremism. Groups collectively appraise threats and opportunities, actively debate action options, and rarely choose violence toward self or others.

Abstract Purpose: This article discusses impaired prosody production subsequent to traumatic brain injury (TBI). Prosody may affect naturalness and intelligibility of speech significantly, often for the long term, and TBI may result in a variety of impairments. Method: Intonation, rate, and stress production are discussed in terms of the perceptual, physiological, and acoustic characteristics associated with TBI. Results and Conclusions: All aspects of prosodic production are susceptible to the effects of damage resulting from TBI. There are commonly associated prosodic impairments; however, individual variations in specific aspects of prosody require detailed analysis.

The article analyzes the current state and level of development of publicprivate partnership (PPP) projects in the subjects of the Russian Federation. The authors conclude that a significant proportion of projects is implemented on a concession basis at the municipal level in the communal sphere. A detailed analysis of the project data showed that the structure of the projects is deformed in favor of the central regions of the Russian Federation, and a significant share in the total amount of financing falls on the transport sector. At the stage of assessing the level of development by the subjects of the Russian Federation, criteria were proposed, and index and integral indicators were used, which ensured comparability of the estimates obtained. At the end of the analysis, the regions were ranked and clustered according to the level of PPP development, which allowed to reveal the number and structure of leaders and outsiders.

The review considers the first attempt in the history of Russian economic thought to give a detailed analysis of informal institutions (IF). It recognizes that in general it was successful: the reader gets acquainted with the original classification of institutions (including informal ones) and their genesis. According to the reviewer the best achievement of the author is his interdisciplinary approach to the study of problems and, moreover, his bias on the achievements of social psychology because the model of human behavior in the economic mainstream is rather primitive. The book makes evident that namely this model limits the ability of economists to analyze IF. The reviewer also shares the author’s position that in the analysis of the IF genesis the economists should highlight the uncertainty and reject economic determinism. Further discussion of IF is hardly possible without referring to this book.

The author elaborates on methodological issues of current tendencies in neoclassical theory and demonstrates the necessity of an alternative model of science, which he calls "realist". According to this perspective, constant and regular conjunctions of economic life events should not be the main object of analysis. Rather, the author proposes to consider structures and mechanisms governing events in question. Instead of deductivism, which, as Lawson believes, is a fundamental feature of orthodox economics, the abductive method of economic explanation is proposed that entails investigation of major powers, on which any social phenomenon depends. Society is thereby regarded not as a closed, but rather as an open system.
