[English]: This paper discusses the practicality and effectiveness of mathematics instructional package for vocational school based on van Hiele theory and oriented to spatial reasoning. The learning package was developed using ADDIE’s model. The research instruments consisted of observation sheet, practicality assessment sheets from teachers and students, and spatial reasoning test. The tryout involved 106 students from three classes in SMKN 2 Ngawi. The result of research showed that instructional package of vocational school based on van Hiele theory is practical to use as can be seen from the teacher's and students’ responses. The instructional package was also considered to be effective because 82% of students passed the spatial reasoning test. The package provided figures illustration and Cartesian model that could support students’ spatial thinking. Keywords: Instructional Package; van Hiele; Spatial Reasoning

Abstract The aim of this study was to ascertain high school students' proportional reasoning in the sense of the COVID-19 pandemic. How do students' thoughts flow when confronted with problems requiring proportional reasoning? This research is a mixed study by collecting data through problem-solving questions to 253 junior high school students in Muaro Jambi, Jambi Province, Indonesia. The problem-solving activities are based on real-world scenarios and require reasoning that is proportional and pertinent to the COVID-19 pandemic context. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the test is administered through the Whatsapp framework. Students' responses are examined in detail to ascertain their proportional reasoning skills. The results indicate that almost all students correctly answered the first question. However, only a small percentage of students were able to answer to and make the correct argument for the second question. The findings indicated that students demonstrated a reasonable level of proportional reasoning when confronted with the COVID-19 pandemic situation. According to the findings of this report, it is important for teachers of mathematics to establish learning activities and problem-solving tasks that help students improve their proportional reasoning skills.

This objective of this study is to describe competency of mathematic communication based on Van Hiele theory on geometry course viewed from visual and kinesthetic learning styles.  The study was conducted in STKIP PGRI Tulungagung in November 2013 to August 2014, assigning 45 students as sample.  The study revealed that: First,  auditory learning style was achieved by: Level 1 = 0, Level 2 = 2, Level 3 = 9, Level 4 = 4, and Level 5 = 0, averaging at Level 3.  This means that students do not understand when they construct  definition, argument, role, formal deduction they worked;  Second, kinesthetic learning style was achieved by: Level 1 = 0, Level 2 = 6, Level 3 = 10, Level 4 = 2, and Level 5 = 0, averaging at Level 3.  This means that students do not understand on the work as done through auditory learning style.

Abstract : Geometry is one of the most important topics in mathematic. A teacher may know students’ geometric thought so the students can learan effectively. This paper describes how student learn to reason in geometry referring to Van Hiele theory. The best know part of the theory are the five levels which the van Hieles postulated. The levels are visualization, analysis, abstraction, deduction and rigor. The study shows that the student are in alanysis level generally. Keyword: Geometry, Van Hiele Teory, Intellectuality, Student.

Student activity is one of the learning activities that should be trained to students because high scientific reasoning will affect students in making decisions and solving problems. It takes seriousness in practicing scientific reasoning skills. So the teacher must choose the appropriate learning approach. This article discusses the problem based learning model which is an inquiry-based learning model, where learning begins by giving a problem. The second discussion, introduced patterns of scientific reasoning that can be trained on students both at the concrete and formal operational stages. At the end of the discussion, the PBL model will be able to facilitate students in developing scientific reasoning
